Never played it and was never interested in playing it until I played Hi-Fi Rush. Honestly though I’d still rather have the Resistance games remade or remastered over this any day. Heck, I’d even take remakes of the Ratchet and Clank games first too. Maybe Somy could hire a different team to bring Insomniac’s games to PS4/PS5.
I’m excited to see what’s next for XDefiant! I hope it’s a look at what’s next. I’m assuming it is but I suppose it could be a celebration of the successful launch.
Definitely playing some more XDefiant as I’m loving the old school CoD feel of the gameplay and maps. The yakuza series still has me hooked so more of Kiwami 2 and 7 are definitely on the docket for the Portal this weekend.
Really surprised at how much I’m enjoying this game. I was a huge CoD4 and MW2 player back in the day and this game brings me back to those times. I’m excited to play this for years to come and hopefully it catches on and is supported. The lack of SBMM is such a relief and makes the matches way more varied and entertaining compared to modern CoD.
Just finished chapter 5 of Yakuza Kiwami 2 so I’m starting the Majima saga. Really loving this game so far and don’t feel like playing much else. I just picked up Granblue Fantasy Relink and might start that up as I’ve been looking forward to playing it since the demo came out. Also plan on playing some Remnant 2 and Helldivers 2 with a buddy this weekend. Such great co-op games. Should be a good time.
@Jaz007 boo, I love Dragon Age: Origins gameplay and felt like it was way more fun and interesting than any ‘TTRPG’ I’d ever played. I’m way more hyped for this game now.
I love playing third person action games on my Portal as I feel the slight delay is completely unnoticeable most of the time. I stay away from FPS games as those seem to be less snappy especially Destiny. However, Cyberpunk works really well though. Yakuza has been my favorite game to play on the device. Played through Yakuza 0, Kiwami 1, Judgment, and now I’m working on Kiwami 2 and Yakuza 7 simultaneously. These have been my favorite Portal games so far. The style of these games feel awesome to play in the handheld format.
After finishing FFXVI a few WAYP’s back I can’t seem to stick to a game. I have been bouncing around between Cyberpunk 2077, Yakuza 7, Mafia: Definitive Edition, and Jedi Survivor. I want to try to stick to one this weekend, but we’ll see how that goes.
I finally finished the Outriders campaign after taking a year off from it. Pretty fun but average game overall. Started Yakuza: Like a Dragon up again and I’m really enjoying it. Also still playing Resistance: Retribution primarily on the Portal. A couple of minutes here and there of MvC: Infinite’s story mode whenever my kids say “daddy play Spider-Man”. Some Freedom Wars on toilet.
I just don’t have time for these longer games and I think a lot of people have open-world fatigue right now. Linear games are what I’m focusing on right now and it helps me to be able to complete more games.
Getting into Remnant 2 with some friends. Really enjoying it so far! Also, started up Phantom Liberty this week and realized I need to do some of the main game side quests that I skipped after mainlining most of the main story. Really getting into it but need to take breaks from it after a few hours. I can only handle so much of the depressing tone. Resistance: Retribution on my Portal has been a great in between games kinda game. Still super fun after all these years.
Put Exoprimal on PS Plus or Extra and it’ll have some life to it for sure but no one is going out of their way to buy it when you’ve got Helldivers 2 and Remnant 2 around
@CWill97 You might like Mad Max, it has a similar feel and premise to Days Gone, however, not nearly as long. I enjoyed my time with it quite a bit especially upgrading my car. The combat is a blast too, imo. You might also want to check out the Forbidden West DLC as the main villain is the same actor that played Deacon and his performance is one of my favorites he’s done.
Potentially finishing up FFXVI this weekend or early next week. Currently playing through Rising Tide and then have the final mission to polish off my first pass through this game. I’m tempted to go for the platinum as I did everything in the base game so just need a second play-through on hard. 63 hours of pure joy. I’m going to be sad to put the game down finally. Other than that, probably some OG God of War on the Vita. I’m at the first boss and forgot how hard games used to be on normal. Definitely my favorite God of War game still to this day.
This game has surprised me so much. I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I have. It’s become one of my favorite games of all time and my favorite game on PS5. Can’t wait for the DLC and hopefully we get more games like this in the future.
@Strikke I’m sure some would be unhappy with that. I plan on buying it when I have more time to play it and when it’s cheaper. I refuse to spend full price for a game that will just sit on my shelf. My backlog of games is large and I have more interest in them than I do Rebirth right now. The Yakuza series has got its grips on me right now.
I loved Fallout 3, and liked New Vegas but never finished it. I like Fallout 4 as well and ended up earning the platinum trophy despite not liking it nearly as much as 3. I haven’t started the show yet, however, I am hoping they capitalize on this newfound interest and begin working on either Fallout 5 or a current gen remake of Fallout 3 with all the DLCs included which were some of my favorite parts of the game. There are too many good games out there to make me want to revisit 4 with the PS5 update. I’m happy for those that’ll be playing it for the first time with the new update. I surprisingly spent a dozen or so hours building an impenetrable base in 4 and had a ton of fun doing it. That was probably my favorite part of the game. The overall world was missing the spark that 3 had unfortunately.
Another fact that may play a part in low sales is the fact that it’s a bigger, less-linear game compared to Remake which forces gamers to spend more hours playing it and less hours playing other games they are currently playing. If it was linear I’d be more inclined to pick it up sooner as I could squeeze it in between bigger games. I personally plan on waiting to pick it up when I don’t have so many big games to play.
It’s more Final Fantasy 16 for me this weekend. I’m about 50 hours in and I’m hoping I’ll be able to complete the first DLC this weekend so I can have some time to play something else before the second DLC drops this month. I’ve also been enjoying the recently re-released Resistance: Retribution on the PS Portal this week and I forgot how good this game is. The dialogue and voiceover is underrated. I am really hoping for a Resistance trilogy remake someday. Those games are special. I’d also be happy to squeeze in some Helldivers 2. Picked up a PS Vita this week and am just waiting on the memory card to come in the mail before I can start downloading my old games again. Miss the system and wish I had never sold mine back in the day. I remember I sold it for CoD: MW (2019) lol.
Started the weekend with some Helldivers 2, but will be finishing it off with some more FF16. I played Control for about 30 minutes and ended up completing chapter 2. I’m not seeing the appeal to this game. I’m just confused on what’s going and kind of tired of running.
I’m loving Helldivers 2 sessions in between playing through my backlog of games. I picked up Dragon’s Dogma 2 this year, but I usually wait for those price drops before I purchase a new game. I kind of regret buying DD2 because of all the games I currently have to play through that I am enjoying. I also started the game, but lost about three hours of progress accidentally so I’m not motivated to play it anymore. At least until I get through FF16 and a few others.
@Th3solution I made friends with the guy at a GameStop near me and he called me when he got a shipment in. He said stores in my area get 1 per month to sell. They got two the month I got one.
Definitely noticed an improvement but thought it was just my internet stability. Glad to hear I’m not the only one! And Im one of those people that play games almost exclusively on the Portal.
@Specky I’m right there with you. Finished 0, Kiwami 1, and Judgement recently. 2 and 3 are next on my list but I’d rather play a Kiwami 3. Don’t think I’m willing to wait as long as it’ll take though.
I’ll be continuing my play through of Final Fantasy 16. I passed a point of no return without doing many side quests so I decided to reload my save and complete them all before moving on further. I am loving every second I spend with this game. Excited for the DLC and updates later in April. On top of that, I’d like to finish the Stellar Blade demo and kill some bugs while defending democracy.

Fantastic shooter to pick up and play a match or two then hop off to something else. I see myself playing this game on and off for many years.
