Re: Despite Hype, Analyst Says Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth 'Underperforming'

@Strikke I’m sure some would be unhappy with that. I plan on buying it when I have more time to play it and when it’s cheaper. I refuse to spend full price for a game that will just sit on my shelf. My backlog of games is large and I have more interest in them than I do Rebirth right now. The Yakuza series has got its grips on me right now.

Re: Fallout Player Counts Skyrocket after Amazon Adaptation Drops

I loved Fallout 3, and liked New Vegas but never finished it. I like Fallout 4 as well and ended up earning the platinum trophy despite not liking it nearly as much as 3. I haven’t started the show yet, however, I am hoping they capitalize on this newfound interest and begin working on either Fallout 5 or a current gen remake of Fallout 3 with all the DLCs included which were some of my favorite parts of the game. There are too many good games out there to make me want to revisit 4 with the PS5 update. I’m happy for those that’ll be playing it for the first time with the new update. I surprisingly spent a dozen or so hours building an impenetrable base in 4 and had a ton of fun doing it. That was probably my favorite part of the game. The overall world was missing the spark that 3 had unfortunately.

Another fact that may play a part in low sales is the fact that it’s a bigger, less-linear game compared to Remake which forces gamers to spend more hours playing it and less hours playing other games they are currently playing. If it was linear I’d be more inclined to pick it up sooner as I could squeeze it in between bigger games. I personally plan on waiting to pick it up when I don’t have so many big games to play.

It’s more Final Fantasy 16 for me this weekend. I’m about 50 hours in and I’m hoping I’ll be able to complete the first DLC this weekend so I can have some time to play something else before the second DLC drops this month. I’ve also been enjoying the recently re-released Resistance: Retribution on the PS Portal this week and I forgot how good this game is. The dialogue and voiceover is underrated. I am really hoping for a Resistance trilogy remake someday. Those games are special. I’d also be happy to squeeze in some Helldivers 2. Picked up a PS Vita this week and am just waiting on the memory card to come in the mail before I can start downloading my old games again. Miss the system and wish I had never sold mine back in the day. I remember I sold it for CoD: MW (2019) lol.

Started the weekend with some Helldivers 2, but will be finishing it off with some more FF16. I played Control for about 30 minutes and ended up completing chapter 2. I’m not seeing the appeal to this game. I’m just confused on what’s going and kind of tired of running.

I’m loving Helldivers 2 sessions in between playing through my backlog of games. I picked up Dragon’s Dogma 2 this year, but I usually wait for those price drops before I purchase a new game. I kind of regret buying DD2 because of all the games I currently have to play through that I am enjoying. I also started the game, but lost about three hours of progress accidentally so I’m not motivated to play it anymore. At least until I get through FF16 and a few others.

I’ll be continuing my play through of Final Fantasy 16. I passed a point of no return without doing many side quests so I decided to reload my save and complete them all before moving on further. I am loving every second I spend with this game. Excited for the DLC and updates later in April. On top of that, I’d like to finish the Stellar Blade demo and kill some bugs while defending democracy.

Today is my Sunday so I’ll be capping off my weekend with some more Judgment. I’m 6 hours in and only at chapter 2. I decided to start this after finishing Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza 0 so that I could cross it off the list before it leaves PS Plus Extra. I actually decided to start play the Yakuza series after experiencing the first hour of Judgment and being blown away by the story telling. I’m glad I did because now I’m hooked. I’ve bought all the games RGG has made in the yakuza series including spin-offs. If I need a break from Judgment I’ll probably be dipping into either Helldivers 2, RE4 Remake, and or Callisto Protocol.

While I waited for my copy of Yakuza Kiwami 2 to arrive after beating the first game a few weeks back I decided to jump into Yakuza 0. I’m in the middle of chapter 5 and quite a few hours in. I’m hoping it picks up a little in the pace soon. When I need a break from Yakuza, I’ll be liberating and swimming in democracy with some friends in Helldivers 2! Have a great weekend, gamers.

@GeminiReign I felt the same way when I started Forbidden West back when it released, but got back to it a year later and did not regret it one bit. By the end, I think I enjoyed it more than Zero Dawn which I loved and got the platinum for. When the time is right give it another shot and you may have a similar story to me. It’s very high quality. The flying mount at the end also made the game immediately 50% more fun for me. And the DLC is a must play for fans of the series. It’s incredibly well done and impressive.

HELLDIVERS! And maybe start Yakuza Kiwami 2 as I just finished Kiwami 1. I am blown away I never played a Yakuza game before. The story sucked me in so quickly and it just got better and better. One of my favorite games I’ve played in the last 5-10 years easily. I can’t stop thinking about it and I’m ecstatic to see where Kyru’s story goes.

Like many other people in the comments I am ecstatic for the short length. 20 hours is a perfect length of game for me. 3 kids and a full time job makes long games almost stressful to try to finish. Also love to see it’s $10 cheaper than a traditional new release. The demo won me over on this game. Highly recommend people try the demo before buying this game or writing it off. The combat is very satisfying and I found the graphics to be really pleasing to look at personally.

Been craving some Rock Band goodness ever since trying out the disappointment of Fortnite Festival. So I’ll be dusting off my drums and guitar and reinstalling Rock Band 4 this weekend. Probably some Swordsman VR as well why I make my way through the main missions. If I get tired of those then I’ll probably chill with some Evil West as I’m enjoying that a lot.

Re: The Day Before Dev Resurfaces, Blames Failure on 'Gold Rush' of Negative Takes

@Nepp67 to each their own. I prefer IW’s movement over Titanfall. Personally, it felt way better to me. Also, I don’t think zero gravity would’ve felt fun or competitive in the multiplayer setting. I think that was an intentional and smart design choice. The zero g movement was fun in campaign but VERY slow to get around and would’ve been so awkward in MP.

Re: The Day Before Dev Resurfaces, Blames Failure on 'Gold Rush' of Negative Takes

Doctor_BK

@DennisReynolds oh man I disagree wholeheartedly. It had a very strong community. The game was very high quality. The hate for the movement could be justified if you are not a fan of that, but it was objectively very well done. So smooth if you knew how to use the movement to your advantage. There were very few things about the game that weren’t done well. The maps, weapons, and game modes were all well done. The abilities were fun and new. I just can’t agree with the idea it was a bad COD. I see it as a top 5 in the entire series and I’ve put months of my life into these titles annually.
