Ready or Not is a gritty, tactical first-person shooter that released on Steam back in 2023 — and now it's heading to PS5 at some point this summer.
The game's very highly rated by its players, praised for its realistic scenarios and strategic firefights. It can be played solo or with up to five other players in online co-op, which will support full cross-play functionality once it drops on consoles.
Again, authenticity is the selling point here. The press release promises "immersive tactical gameplay, full flexibility of approach, and authentic equipment that SWAT teams utilize in the field". Fans of the old Ghost Recon and SOCOM games will definitely want to check this out.

Awesome. This game is killer on PC.
Looks cool but the character animation looks a bit shanky.
I'm definitely interested in this. Hopefully it will scratch that giant Ranbow Six Vegas itch I've had for far too long.
Is there pvp in this?
This actually reminds me more of SWAT 4. Man, i really enjoyed playing that game back in 2005.
This looks tactical really tactical…. Looking forward to it
This game is brilliant, I've been hammering it with friends on Steam. Everything an old school Rainbow Six and SWAT fan could ask for and by a relatively small studio too. Early bugs are mostly patched out, there is plenty of content and each mission is refreshingly well realized and detailed. It's not for the faint of heart in terms of subject matter so be warned. It's good in single player as you have four guys with you who you can control as a single team or two teams of two at any given time. Multiplayer with friends is where it's at though. It can be tense or hilarious and frequently both. Definitely a good move to finally bring it to consoles.
@Hi569 not at this time but the devs are apparently considering it.
@anon_pel222 it is very tactical. You can spend 30 minutes on a single mission only to make one stupid mistake and it's over.
@Korgon it will and then some!
Heard about this on a podcast and immediately was hoping for a PS5 port. Hyped to see this.
Amazing game. Basically Swat 5.
Love it on PC, been waiting (hoping!) for it to come to PS5 (my laptop struggles!)
I'm wondering if it will be censored for console at all.
Looks good. Can you play as a terrorist or is it swatteam only?
Looks awesome, proper SOCOM vibes, fingers crossed for a physical release!
This is brilliant news, it's excellent on pc. Looking forward to having a proper tactical shooter like this on ps5, online co op will be great.
@Korgon Agreed! That was my thought. Looking forward to squadding up with friends and fighting the temptation not to immediately go rogue, haha.
Defenately ready for a decent tactical game. I miss the old style Ghost recon and rainbow 6 games.
@PuppetMaster same! That’s why this has me excited too.
@Frmknst if the console version includes the six dlc maps, then I'd say the overall content, fun you'll have with friends (or tense solo) and with replayability taken into account, $49.99 is well worth it compared to a lot of games. Saying that, I got it on sale and it'll likely do the same on console from time to time.
@GirlVersusGame Doorkickers 1+2 are both amazing too and very much in the same vein however these are better played with a mouse imo. Would be great to see them on console too and they have meaty solo and co-op options.
@Korgon my exact thoughts! I know I can buy them on steam but I’m not a PC/Mac player and just want console re-releases!
@GirlVersusGame I need to check out Satisfactory - a 3D Factorio?! I've only heard good things! Might be too much of a time sink for me though.
Woah, I've been waiting for this to come to consoles and I didn't even realise it was this close. Awesome.
Passing it on to the makes the wishlist foundation 👍🏻
Best news i’ve had for…..well…..a long time ago!!!!
@J2theEzzo Ha, I love occasionally going rogue but it often ends badly - for me!
@16BitHero Haha, for most of us, I think! But the pull is hard to resist 😉
This fills the empty space i felt after Rainbow Six Vegas…..
