I get the hardware scales for the CPU and GPU, older games taking advantage of the newer faster hardware. We have a wildcard this time the SSDs in both consoles, games intended to run on the older harddisk need to be designed accordingly. PS5 exclusives you know your base hardware has SSD nothing to hinder the developer. We'll see what happens by the end of 2021 when Horizon 2 comes out designed to take full advantage of the PS5.

PS5 I'm already interested. PS4 only got me hooked when they said it was £350 instead of £600 😬. I'm hoping no more than £450 for the disk version but we'll have you wait and see.

It's down to developer and game type. It's harder to sell people on fps. We need more titles that give the end user the option of performance Vs visual fidelity. Start adding Ray tracing and you sap a big chunk of the consoles power.

@Cybrshrk The amp is a Denon AVR-X2300W I bought in 2017. May look at an upgrade next year. TV should be ok for PS5 it's an LG E9 65 OLED. The picture like you said will need a direct connection to take advantage of HDMI 2.1 (13ms input lag). The picture quality from TLoU2 was outstanding 😎

Too many unanswered questions. No point in speculating until Mark Cerny gives his next deep dive into the hardware. My TV supports ATMOS, don't think my older Denon Amp will. Then the PS5 might need attached directly to TV if I can't pass through 120Hz. Then will the TV pass the audio back via eARC (works ok with Netflix). Might get a few of my favourite movies on 4K UHD 😎

The market will only tolerate it for so long. Only buy one major release and another will suffer. There will be more people waiting for the sales. PS4 backwards compatibility will at least let me work on my backlog until PS5 titles eventually hit the sales.

Sounds like the 825GB is onboard taking advantage of 12 channels. Expansion slot for M2 SSD cards. I'm hoping they can take advantage of the 12 channel interface (maybe not) still need another Mark Cerny hardware video. Then external USB for PS4 titles. Hopefully there is some easy method to copy / move games between drives to take advantage of the massive speed increase of the internal SSD. Looking forward to this generation doing something a bit different 😎

Plagues Tale I really enjoyed. Erica is on PS+ this month might take a look. OnRush is fun in short spells, shame we didn't get a DriveClub 2 I loved that game. Subnautica I picked up in the sales 👍 Good list gave me a few more to look at 😎

Played the original on PC. The game was done in the Source Engine before Valve gave us Half-life 2. Some kind person fixed many of the missions with updates to the Python scripts. Interested in what they have done 👍

One frame per minute 😁 couldn't resist. Looking forward to seeing what it has to offer. Maybe we will see more at the Xbox event.

I don't like news sites saying fans and the gaming community. I'd like to think they have nothing to do with gaming. Anything high profile becomes the next target. Every review of the TLoU2 takes different things away from the experience. It's never acceptable when discussions on the internet become personal attacks 😬

On second playthrough of tlou2. Fun tackling early areas with all weapons. Fully upgraded all weapons just skills to upgrade now. Dropping back to Deus Ex when tlou2 is in the bag.

@BLOB I loved the change from PS3 to PS4. A good UI design can still be feature rich. I'd like to see a consistent search interface, like when you want to filter for free tracks on Rockband 4. One way you can the other you get a full list with no options.

60Hz will do just fine. Bring back Driveclub, best weather effects of any game 😎

TrueTrophies for PSN and True Achievements for Xbox. All features that could and should be standard on the consoles. Trophies could be so much more, friend on Xbox said he would love the equivalent of a Platinum Trophy. Fingers crossed the PS5 gets a new polish to its interface

Funny how they say the PS5 is easier to develope for. That should make it cheaper 😁 A few must have a launch games then the rest can wait on the sales.

Every game means something different to each person because of our life experiences. Don't like a game, vote with your wallet and go find one you do like. Lockdown has turned many people into mean spirited individuals who spend too much time complaining about everything online. What is the end goal, destroy ND? Games I personally don't like I know others love so it all comes down to respect.
If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

@Akurusu Sorry should have said I did play Factions from the first game, it got a real boost when it landed on PS+ I do hope they add it to the second, so many great locations. MP in general eats a lot of time. Prefer single player or co-op, thinking Far Cry 5 for example, shame it only had two player on the main game. Collectibles are not for everyone, Ubisoft tend to throw them around like confetti.

@Akurusu Not been a fan of MP since Half-life 2 Deathmatch and all things Valve. Don't see why they can't do two trophy sets. Keep everyone happy. MP just eats too much time.

Big enough game not to warrant more single player DLC, however I wouldn't say no if it happens. Looking to Platinum my first Naughty Dog game, made simpler by not including any multiplayer. At least when they tag it on the trophy set will be separate (wish all games did that, when they contain a multiplayer element).
TIP for mopping up, you can switch on enhanced listen mode and auto grab in accessibilities. I only found that out after 20 hours lol

Being an explorer usually results in me taking longer than most to complete games. But I find the devil is in the detail. That feeling of finding something on your own that everyone else ran past to finish the game. I've done a few 100+ hour games so like to mix them up a bit with a smaller indie title before tackling another. Currently playing Last of Us Part 2 going after the platinum this time since there's no multiplayer at least for the time being.

So close to PS5 launch, do I get the PS4 version to play right away or wait to play it on PS5. In the middle of playing Deus Ex Mankind Divided to get into that CyberPunk mood 😎

There's a depth to the story if you take the time. You don't watch Disney's Up and knock it off because you didn't like the start. My opinion of the game changed when I had a greater understanding of the story. Life has consequences some of which can be very hard, hopefully people learn to become a better version of themselves. I would be upset if the story was charged.
When this blows over the next target will be CyberPunk 2077 you can see it a mile away.
Not everyone likes the same five star movies so why would this be any different.

I like a mix of game lengths, play a big open world game then do a smaller indie title.

UK I'm thinking £450 with disk and £400 without. If Microsoft announce price first PlayStation might opt to match or undercut.

@AhmadSumadi I just searched for PS5 4K HDR on my TVs YouTube app (only way to get HDR) they had R&C and also Kena in HDR. Logo pops up as the TVs swaps to it.

You can watch the trailer on YouTube 4k HDR. Very impressive image quality. I can live with 30fps if they look that good. You may hit 60fps on games but their likely to look not much better than last gen. Be nice to have the option.

This time when you die the SSD will get you back into the fight quicker 🤣

Personally I like it. Might have to shuffle a few things to fit it on my shelf, but as long as it's quiet I'm happy 😎

I won't be reading any reviews until I've played it. I've got high hopes for Part 2. All I need now is Blue Point to remake Part 1 in the same engine then release on the PS5 😎

@Arugula Fits what I want, new first party titles taking advantage of all the new features. Big catalogue of PS4 titles I can finished while I wait on more PS5 only titles. Gives developers a head start and helps sell PS5s 😎

PS4 BC is all I'm expecting and all I want. I've got the 60GB PS3 only played two older games when I first got it. I want my experiences to move forward 😎

I'd love to get more detail, but I can wait. I get the feeling MS showed too many cards and now it's last year's console. Got some great games to kill the time LoU P2. I suppose all the negative rumours are just that rumours. Not many people I trust to go give information, you see it all the time with direct quotes in multiple articles. When I first saw the Gone in 60 seconds trophy, I thought OMG how the hell do you get that. But later on when your fully leveled up, so much fun. One of the best bike mechanics in any game 😎

Stadia is not the future of gaming. They're throwing good money after bad buying exclusives. They can beta test it for the rest of us 😁
