The Last of Us 2 PS4

There's a pretty good chance that you're reaching the end of your playthrough of The Last of Us: Part II and wondering what's next for the franchise. Does Naughty Dog have any plans for DLC and what could an expansion of that nature focus on? What did Tommy's journey through Seattle look like before joining up with Ellie? How did the truce between the WLF and the Seraphites play out and how was it actually broken? Well, it doesn't look like we'll get answers to any of those questions in the form of DLC.

As part of a spoilercast with Kinda Funny, Neil Druckmann went on record stating that the team won't be doing any DLC for The Last of Us: Part II. "There are no plans for DLC." A pretty definitive answer there from the studio's vice president so don't get your hopes up for anything in the near future. However, we do still have the multiplayer side-project from Naughty Dog to look forward to. Back in September 2019, the developer described this as a vision "beyond an additional mode that could be included with our enormous single player campaign." We expect this one to arrive on PlayStation 5, and when you take the combat and movement mechanics of The Last of Us: Part II and put them into a multiplayer environment, it could be something pretty special.
