@Coffeeglitch Oh I agree, I've been playing since day one on Steam, and the optimization is incredibly messy. I've had friends unable to play for long stretches of time with better rigs than me 😔
I do think the criticisms are earned to an extent (especially regarding the way story mode, the "open" map, optimization, and UI were handled), but people are also quick to forget Rise and World lacked difficulty before their expansions as well. That's the nature of LR/HR. I do think they can turn a lot of these issues around by the time the Master Rank expansion releases, but it will be tough for them to change the majority of the community's opinions now that the hate train has left the station.
I picked up the first two on a Steam deep-sale this year, only to find out they are both right up my alley as a fan of 3D stealth games! Tenchu-like movement with Thief-like objectives, all set in a world that almost feels apart of Fable. I'm looking forward to the third game!
So the cosmetics are paid, the quest is limited time...struggling to see any reason to play then. Other than being something for the diehard AC/AoT fans, of course 🤔
Never was going to. Still awesome that the new Steam Machine exists though, and the more casual players can adopt a PC library at a (potentially) affordable rate (with free online play, among the many other benefits), the merrier! But for those that want to strictly play console, they'll stick with console, and that's fine 😎
I wish I shared this same optimism, but Rebirth left a sour taste in my mouth. To clarify, I don't hate the game by any stretch (Queens Blood, my beloved), but for me it doubled down on the things I didn't like about Remake. Unfortunately this time I won't be there on day one (but plenty of people will so the game will be fine and reviewed great, etc.).
Personally, unless there's something absolutely essential and exclusive to PS6, I'm fine calling the 5 my last PlayStation console. I spent a good deal on a decent gaming PC, so that will hopefully be my main focus moving forward.
@get2sammyb I'd say its worth a look, the combat does lack impact but still controls well enough, and I would argue it does have decent boss fights. The main thing I wasn't a big fan of is the level design, as they lean a little too hard into the labyrinth-like structure for me, especially later on (like the clearly Anor Londo-inspired stage - it's a mess).
@Th3solution Agreed, and I'd add that bosses are signposted/have their own arena that you opt into (ie "fog wall"), and most importantly, a big healthbar with their name on-screen.
Unfortunately I gave up on Bungie ages ago. Destiny had its moments, and while it never reached the heights of the original Halo series for me, it still made multiplayer enjoyable. Destiny 2 was a big step down for me, and then vaulting content and going free to play were the final straws.
I've worked my way from 0 to Infinite Wealth, and they're sending me back to 3 again 😭 It's a great game (as they all are), I'm just not ready to go back again. Oh well!
Of course they'd use this old threat...I would have been an immediate buyer if they chose 4, but they chose the game before it instead. I guess I'm obligated to buy this one in the off-chance 4 can get the same treatment 😒 This isn't anything against DW3, I just started with 4 and have the most nostalgia of playing that entry specifically, especially with friends.
There's a reason the prices are quoted in yen on the announcement, these events have a large viewership in Japan, let alone however well they do internationally. To treat this as a small niche event that nobody cares about is a bizarre mindset 🤔 Nonetheless, this is not a good practice and will obviously alienate and discourage new viewers, especially outside of Japan. Hopefully the criticisms are heard...
I'll buy this on Steam if it ends up worth it, but MTX in a paid game doesn't leave a good first impression 😒 The first Let It Die got really tough, even with the free overpowered weapons, and the grind became too much for me. Really charming writing though, Jukka as Uncle Death will be sorely missed in this entry...
Too bad it isn't 2020, I still dip into it a few times a month for a relaxing (or chaotic) flight. I still have yet to try 24 on Series after the harsh reception out of the gate, and the thought of cloud streaming every moment of gameplay doesn't appeal to me.
The lack of split-screen isn't a deal-breaker for me, since I played the first two solo. The fact this isn't by the original devs kindof is, so if I play, it won't be at launch.
Definitely some bumpy reception in these comments 🤔 This game's trajectory has been a little curvy, but I'm glad they're doing what they can to keep it from going tits-up.
Not a great Metal Gear, multiplayer was bad, the story answers a plot thread nobody really cared about, BUT it's very fun to play and the sandbox lends itself well to experimentation. Overall, 7/10. Would have scored an 8 if the final mission was finished/included.
This has been the case for a very long time. I still have "stunt-double" Cole McGrath and Nathan Drake in a box somewhere from old special editions. Whichever company/companies they source for these do an amazing job on everything but faces.
This is a very welcome change! I'm still trying to work my way through NG Black (and eventually Black 2 and 3 Razors Edge), so if I can manage to surpass these games, hopefully Hero Mode won't be necessary for me on 4 😅
I really hope this game isn't centered around cat and mouse sequences. I love the RE games, and while I appreciate 7 revitalizing the series, it also felt like a major departure. Excited to see more!
@Anthony_Daniels I...don't think we're in disagreement? Lol Nanomachines indeed. That's a fair point, Big Boss isn't Hayter in 4, and he's substantially older (but so was Snake...😵💫). And we can't even act like Ocelot has a consistent voice either 😆 At the time of release I was mad about it because Snake=Hayter, this was also around the time Splinter Cell replaced Michael Ironside as Sam Fisher in Blacklist, so it was weird seeing those iconic character voices getting replaced. There's certainly the story and mocap reasons, but that's why the JP Snake remaining the same in V made the news hard to accept at the time.
I thought this was lame when ground zeroes released, especially with the Japanese VA for Snake staying the same, but I accepted it over time. Nonetheless, it isn't Sutherland's fault he had little direction and chances to voice lines (outside of the in-game tapes), and it's cool to see Hayter let bygones. Great gameplay, pretty pointless plotline.
Randomized talismans is a decent reward, but I haven't felt the need to tweak my armor set. I'm one of the (apparently) few PC players that hasn't had major performance issues since launch, so I still have a good time each time I drop in for hunts. Classic UI and sound effect mods also enhance the experience.
Muscular Pac-Man?! Lay these reckless ambitions to rest! I must return to my Pac-Man game where he's a giant Mecha and also turns into a huge shadow mouth.
Good game, in my opinion a tad overrated, but that's just me. Sucker Punch games previously have made platforming a lot of fun, which wasn't a thing here. The open world still had a little of that formulaic waypoint Ubisoft fluff. And there being no narrative alterations or punishment for using cheap ninja kills was unfortunate. I would have gone for a no stealth playthrough (with the stealth not being anything special) but the game forces you into the ghost systems anyways. The 1v1 duels were probably the highlight for me.
FromSoft already confirmed multiplayer-focused entries aren't replacing traditional solo-focused games, yet people are still quick to moan. Yes, they have traditional games in their pipeline, even if these two games aren't your cup of tea 😉 Maybe DS3 can be the new Last of Us, where we get a Remaster then a Remake 🤣
This is tragic. Oblivion Remaster has been a blast, despite being the worst kept secret before launch. And MGS Delta is still my most anticipated release this year. That being said, this does sound like the whole situation was mishandled by their management. Go figure...
The social media PlayStation fanboys are throwing a tantrum. As is life. Instead of welcoming others who share a common interest and hobby, we need to build more borders, and so on 😮💨 "Be cool or be cast out" 🎶
My interest in this game flopped as soon as my XBL Gold sub (pre-Game Pass, heh) lapsed, and I realized I couldn't play the game without an online subscription. Too bad, rip bozo
I agree with those saying they would just benefit from modern ports, warts and all. Remakes would remove any and all fun the games have. The fact that they're so broken at times makes them very fun to exploit (moreso the first game). So the fact they have no desire to do so is for the best. And also BRING BACK THE CHAO SEGA
Sony, please don't add MGS4 to the PS Plus cloud streaming bs 😣 Let Konami cram it into the next Master Collection instead so we can play a true native port.

Never liked paying for online, and still avoid doing so when at all possible to this day. That's part of why I built a gaming PC.

I might be the one Dead Rising guy, but I wear it proud. Resident Evil is otherwise my go-to this season (and several other parts of the year).
