Fully functional, console perfect ports of Super Monkey Ball and its sequel Super Monkey Ball 2 are now playable in your web browser.
Anyone who experienced the originals – which first launched in 2001 and 2002 respectively – will instantly be familiar with the level layouts, music, and ball physics.
While these versions lack AiAi and other series characters, the gameplay is pretty much spot on, and it all runs flawlessly in both Google Chrome on our Microsoft Surface laptop and on our iPhone 16 Pro.
While the first two games originally launched exclusively on the Nintendo GameCube, a compilation of levels from both was later ported to the PS2 as part of Super Monkey Ball Deluxe in 2005.
Seeing the games presented perfectly like this in a web browser is pretty remarkable, and we’re going to struggle to get any more work done today while we work our way through this.
