What if Lollipop Chainsaw was less Britney Spears and more Avril Lavigne? That’s the question Stupid Never Dies from ex-Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi aims to answer.
The premise is absolutely absurd, so we’re just going to let the press release do the talking for us: “In a world where monsters are part of everyday life, a bottom-rung zombie named Davy braves a deadly dungeon to bring back Julia, the frozen human he loved.”
The game’s described as an action RPG, where you’ll assume the role of the aforementioned Davy, who’s tasked with levelling up and assembling items in order to grow stronger and complete his quest of bringing back his long-lost love.

The title’s being developed by a new studio named GPTRACK50, and the team promises an “experience unlike anything you’ve played before”.

instant TOTY, title of the year, Stupid Never Dies 🤣
also as a lifelong punk rock fan I love the "what if Lollipop Chainsaw was less Britney Spears and more Avril Lavigne ?" bit 😉
@ThatFunnyBunny Haha, thanks!
Looks like a game that's right up my alley.
It looks like Lolipop but more goofy?
@PuppetMaster Is that possible?!
Avril Lavigne punk? The sex pistols,The clash,The damned hell I'd even go so far as to say The new York dolls are punk and let's not forget Iggy pop the grand daddy of punk..Avril lavigne 🤣
I'm glad they're making these kind of games, despite my old grouchy self getting instantly annoyed by these kids. I think that shepherd dog game with no people in sight is more for me.
The 00s pop vibes are strong with this one.
I'm interested. But I'd like to see actual... y'know... gameplay.
That was the cringiest advert / song I've seen in a while.
So... the game's about necrophilia?
As weird as this whole thing was, I am slightly intrigued. The gameplay saved it for me, but I still need to see more.
@Northern_munkey Pop punk.
@PuppetMaster : you name bands that were og punk rockers when the whole ethos of this game is pop punksters (such as Avril) . But each to their own .
@get2sammyb commercial tosh but each to their own..
This seems to lean in a very "Suda51" direction, but without as much of the charm, at least for my tastes. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on it, but despite the music and visuals, there is something weirdly bland about the whole afair that I can't quite explain 🤔
Horrifying intro (I say as a pop punk fan), but the gameplay looks a lot of fun. I’ll grab it on the inevitable PS+ or on sale sometime.
@janineking I think you replied to the wrong person.
@PuppetMaster sorry about that , it was meant for northern monkey (my bad!)
I loved lolipop chainsaw way back then. This looks fun, Im in
