Behind the scenes here at Push Square, we're hard at work with prepping all of our Game of the Year content. But as always, there's one annual award that we leave completely open to our lovely audience.
We are, of course, talking about the Most Anticipated PS5 title of the coming year. 2026 is already looking packed, and so while we're sure that yet more release dates will be locked in over the next few months, there's still plenty to pick through in our poll.
This time around, we've assembled a list of 75 PS5 games for you to choose from. It includes numerous heavy hitters that we've now been covering for an age, like Grand Theft Auto 6, Crimson Desert, Phantom Blade Zero, and Marvel's Wolverine.
We need you to select five games in our poll. Your choices are weighted, which means that your first choice — your most anticipated — gets five points, your second choice gets four points, and so on.
The top ten most popular picks will then be featured in a Most Anticipated PS5 Games article over the holidays — so choose wisely!
Please note that only games with an official '2026' release window are included in this poll. The likes of Naughty Dog's Intergalactic and hyped remake Persona 4 Revival are not eligible because of this.
Voting closes at midnight (GMT) on Thursday the 18th December.
So, without further ado, let's get started. Vote for your five Most Anticipated PS5 games in our poll, and then explain yourself in the comments section below.

Damn, not even Push Square is convinced Fairgames is coming out next year. =P
Polls like this remind me how liberating it is to not care about GTA6.
@RBMango I know, that’s the game I’m looking forward to the most, right above Highguard.
@Enuo I'm in the same boat. Can't bring myself to give 2 ***** about the game after all the nonsense they've pulled over the past decade with GTA Online.
Hard to pick just 5 to be honest. I've got my eyes on at least 25 on that list. If even half of them deliver it will be another strong year.
While I am not the biggest fan of Rockstar's gameplay there is no doubting a new R* game, and even more so a new GTA game, is a seismic event in gaming. Personally I am always fascinated to see what it possible with a comparatively unlimited budget. But it would be nice to see some actual gameplay innovation.
Saros
Phantom blade zero
Nioh 3
Onimusha
007
I’m actually excited for 2026. First full year of games I’m amped on since current gen launched. Every year has had its games yeah. But I’m looking forward to something throughout the whole year. Les gooooo
Tomb Raider
Resident Evil
GTA 6
Wolverine
Marvel 1943
Tricky to say with the final one as not seen any gameplay yet.
Phantom Blade Zero, Lords of the Fallen 2, Code Vein 2, Crimson Desert, and Nioh 3 are my top five.
@Spectralmews props for having Nioh 3 at the top (I'm not biased at all I promise)
If god of war 2d is real and comes out next year then that will be my most anticipated game.
For me in Order it's
GTA 6
Wolverine
RE9
Saros
Phantom blade 0
I limited myself to games I actually plan on buying on PlayStation instead of Switch/Xbox.
1. Romeo is a Dead Man (pending any S2 announcement)
2. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis (gonna play OG and Anniversary as the lead up)
3. Resident Evil Requiem (even though I have yet to play VII or VIII and likely won't buy Requiem until 2027 at the earliest)
4. Grand Theft Auto 6 (I guess... I'm curious how it'll turn out)
5. High on Life 2 (mostly just because of the skateboard)
HM that I forgot existed until I was at GTA: Saros (probably my actual #3, but I didn't feel like redoing my list)
@SeaDaVie lol. I laughed so hard to this
Damn, I wish there was a way to take back my vote and recast it because it's only when writing this that I realise I missed a couple of the games that are releasing.
My top 5 would be:
1. Resident Evil Requiem
2. Marvel's Wolverine
3. Control Resonant
4. Pragmata
5. Saros
6. The Blood of Dawnwalker
7. Star Wars Zero Company
8. Crimson Desert
9. Mortal Shell 2
10. Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra
11. Code Vein 2
12. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
13. Star Wars: Galactic Racer
14. 007 First Light
15. Halo: Campaign Evolved
16. Nioh 3
17. Onimusha: Way of the Sword
18. Phantom Blade Zero
19. Gothic
In all honesty, it is difficult to put the games in any real order once I get past the number 5 position, but it is almost guaranteed that I will be buying every one of them by way of pre-order so it's going to be a bumper (and expensive!) year for me...
1. Wolverine
2. GTA6
3. Marvel Tokon
4. Saros
5. Resident Evil 9
6. Phantom Blade Zero
7. Control Resonant
8. Chronoscript
9. Marathon (release month confirmed, just saw the deep dive, and it actually got me pretty excited about it)
I dont know if the God of War 2.5D game is real and if it will release in 2026, but i’m also interested in that one. Also curious to see that Horizon co op game
I went with: Pragmata, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil, Marvel Token, and Scott Pilgrim. Won’t be surprised if GTA gets pushed to 2027.
Mina The Hollower and Control for me! Everything else is nice to have ❤️
I feel that GTA6 shouldn’t even be on this list because if the inevitable one last delay.
1. Nioh 3
2. Wolverine
3. Tokon
4. GTA6
5. Monster Hunter Stories 3
I voted for those but I didn’t see Saros in the list when quickly scrolling through which would have been 5.
Also, Marathon is expected next Spring? Sony mentions that in every financial call, surprised it's not on the list!
Nioh 3. Team ninja make the best non Fromsoft soulslikes
No Hype for Kaname Date: An AI the Somnium Files Story
1. Control 2
2. Pragmata
3. Resident Evil 9
4. Mina the Hollower
5. Halo on PlayStation 5 for the sheer novelty of it
Outside that, we’ll see what Xbox games come over to PS5 because Fable is exciting too. I’m looking forward to Bubsy 4D, of all things. GTA6 might be #6 for me, but I’m not sure about it. I’ve got a weird feeling about this next GTA game and I can’t quite describe it. Tomb Raider’s up there too, and maybe 007. I’m not 100% sold on the Bond game, but I’m contemplating. I feel the same about Dawnwalker.
I’m going to try to reduce my gaming to buying 1-2 games a month and next year looks like a good year to do that, with a AAA and indie balanced per month possibly.
I would have included GTA 6 but the management managed to tank their reputation completely. I was already suspicious of what they might put into the game in terms of predatory practices and their pricing scheme.
As is, there are so many great games already to choose from that making the list is really tricky. I had to go with Wolverine as it will be a childhood dream come true. Then, Blood of Dawn walker and 007 from Danish IO Interactive. The rest were difficult to choose from.
Fatal Frame 2 > Monster Hunter Stories 3 > Yakuza Kiwami 3 > Tomb Raider
It's the Trails series for me.
Nioh 3 easily of what's already announced and it's coming very early 2026 so who knows what else the year has in store. After that I picked the lego batman game just cuz an arkham style lego batman could be seriously fun. Then MH Stories 3, code vein 2, and phantom blade
Forza Horizon 6 (hopefully)
Ace Combat 8
Wolverine
Lego Batman
Saros
Jesus wept! Next year is so gods damned stacked.
My most anticipated PS5 games next year are:
Crimson Desert
The Legend of Heroes: Trails beyond the Horizon
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter
Yakuza Kiwami 3
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
There are great many games coming out in 2026, even without western games in general and Marvel in particular.
Great, PushSquare confirms that GTA6 will come in 2026.
Seriously, I think that Pragmata with its Shooter + Puzzle gameplay can be a huge surprise.
And 007 looks like finest AAA.
1.Grand theft auto 6.2.onimusha way of the sword.3.marvel wolverine.4.resident evil requiem. 5.007 first light.word up son
Reanimal. That's more or less it for me. But Carmageddon could be fun. One can hope.
There are some rumours swirling that HL3 might finally be releasing, or at least seeing an announcement. I'm not counting on it, to be honest. But if it does, it might be the one game that can (and probably will) take the wind out of GTA's sails.
Hands down, GTA 6. Then only real ones for me are the James bond, wolverine, pragmata and res
Deep Down,
WiLD,
Abandoned,
Beyond Good & Evil 2,
Little Devil Inside,
Wait. sorry, wrong list.
It won't let me vote because I only have one game, lol. Still not sure about Crimson Desert, but its the only one. Looks like another empty year.
@Fiendish-Beaver Thats an expensive year ahead, and some fine picks!
I know it's not cool to admit to liking it. I know the online element and artificially extended lifespan of GTA V have made it hard to like. But I've been with this series since the beginning and I just can't wait for the next one.
Closely followed by Nioh 3 and Cairn.
Surprised that so little people voted Mortal Shell 2. Soulslike game that (the first one) was amazingly good for sturio with (ad far as i remember) 15-20 people
5- Mortal Shell 2
4-Control
3-RE Requiem
2-Directive 8020
1-Lego
This was a tough one but I've gone fro sken safe picks for games i know il definitely enjoy.
Trails in The Sky 2nd Chapter
Monster Hunter Stories 3
Trails Beyond the Horizon
Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined
Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis
I'm also looking forward to a few more but they could be hit and miss like Pragmata, Wolverine, The Adventures of Elliot, Fatal Frame 2 and Control Resonant. 2026 is looking like a banger year though, especially when I throw in a few Switch 2 releases.
Stacked year!
I'm personally most excited for some newer IP coming out. Who doesn't love the sequels and remakes coming, but this generation could use some more original standouts.
It wasn't on the list, but I'd like to give a special shoutout to The Sinking City 2! According to the devs, release is scheduled for the 1st half of 2026.
My top5:
1. RE9
2. Wolverine
3. TR Remake
4. 007
5. PB0
Such a solid lineup that it was honestly hard to limit it to 5. Super excited for the games next year will bring 😬
Alot of great games next year. Genuinely difficult to narrow it down to a top 5, but as of this moment this is how I was feeling:
1. Saros
2. Reanimal
3. Fatal Frame II: Remake
4. Ontos
5. Wolverine
Tell me about it, @Titntin, and I really will buy the vast majority of them, if not all of them. I'm not yet sure about Gothic, and how that will look come release, but the rest are definitely looking like must have games. My only hope is that there are not too many Collector's Editions to be had amongst them because not only are they getting more and more expensive, but I have run out of room to display them, but I really am a sucker for a Collector's Edition... 😂
1. Resident Evil Requiem
2. Pragmata
3. Tomb Raider
4. GTA6
5. Control
Resident Evil is always likely to be top for me but it combining the horror of RE7 with the action of 4 and back to Raccoon City, this is easily top
Pragmata, this wasn't on my radar too much but playing the demo on PC, it was great fun and the hacking really adds a nice element to mix up the gameplay
Tomb Raider looks to be a classic return to form
GTA6, well it's GTA and it looks great
Control, loved the first one and curious about this
My list:
1. GTA 6
2. Resident Evil Requiem
3. Pragmata
4. Marvel's Wolverine
5. Code Vein 2
1.Tomb Raider
2. Wolverine
3.LEGO Batman
4.RE Requiem
5.Prince of Persia Remake
Couldn’t care less about GTA 6 tbh but I think that will be pushed back to May 2027 anyway.
@MrMeeeseeeks
What makes you think that?
@stefan771 I just have a feeling. Or maybe it’s wishful thinking. Because I doubt Sony will want to release Wolverine against GTA6. So if GTA6 isn’t pushed back, there’s a good chance Wolverine will be. And I’d much rather have Wolverine.
I don’t really have 5 most anticipated ps5 titles as I mainly play on PC, I only have 2 - Wolverine and Saros. Nioh 3 might be a third if team ninja release yet another terrible pc port.
Unfortunately you cannot submit your vote with anything less than 5 titles. I added gta 6 even though I’ll be waiting on the pc version and marvel Tokon, simply because it’s being published by Sony.
@SeaDaVie lol serious?
People are going to be sooo dissapointed in GTA6.. I see it a mile away
Five aren't enough.
1. Wolverine
2. Onimusha
3. Phantom Blade Zero
4. RE Requiem
5. Control Resonant
6. Pragmata
7. Saros
8. Marvel Tokon
9. Warhammer: Boltgun 2
10. Ace Combat 8
11. Romeo Is a Dead Man
2026 is stacked
1. GTA6
2. MARVEL TOKKON
3. MARVEL WOLVERINE
4.2XXKO
5. SCOTT PILGRIM
Assuming that next year's upcoming mainline Neptunia game comes out on PS5 and it's uncensored, that will win for sure.
Though Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma, Trails in the Sky Second Chapter, and Trails Beyond the Horizon all look interesting too.
GTA didn't even make my list.
@Rezium the PEAK
@DarianStarfrog I’m already so disappointed I plan on skipping it until it costs 20$
Resident Evil
Onimusha
Trails Beyond the Horizon
Trails in the Sky SC
Tomb Raider
Hell Let Loose: Vietnam
Road Kings
Pragmata
Vampire Crawlers
GTA 6
Grand Theft Auto 6
Wolverine
Star Wars Galactic Racer
Tomb Raider
007
Resident Evil 9 and Ace Combat 8 would be on there if PSVR2 compatibility was announced.
Rhythm Heaven Groove on Switch 1/2, nothing else interests me.
Put Ace Combat 8, Tomb Raider, Screamer (don't think much of but sure), South of Midnight is good, not my thing but respect it, and Halo as curious how it will go, just for something else to put.
Warhammer will be fair, Rogue Trader 2/Total War 40K.
Star Wars new racer will be 'fair' but doubt it. Could be too flashy and not enough gameplay substance, even many other anti grav racers are pretty eh of ideas despite an ok genre revival.
Carmageddon could be fair, 007 may be fair.
But otherwise, eh. There isn't much compelling here gameplay design wise. Just standard stuff. Not interested really.
There is a reason I said Rhyythm Heaven Groove, waited 10 years, got the prior entries digital to support it, not a rhythm game fan but love the way the minigames go about things in this series. Like getting into few sandbox survival games, the odd genres have been great and the major ones I follow have been bad, boring and gameplay dull/forgettable. Too much story, not enough compelling mechanics at all.
I'd have to look at other Indies but that's it. A major niche Nintendo IP is all I care about in 2026 so far. Games have been eh since 2023.
Or Tomb Raider (2027, not that fussed by the remake, got Anniversary on PS3 and the other two via trilogy).
Ace Combat 8 is cool to have but got the other entries to experience, got 7 on Switch not long ago, got I think it's 5 (different name per region) on PS2, 6 and Assault Horizon on 360 to play as well.
Yeah very little interesting in 2026/2027, Indies to look at but most shown in shows/conventions aren't engaging at all.
Will stick to browsing PS4/Switch 1 eshop instead.
Will wait out/look up footage for WRC 23/24 and Ride 5/6 but that's about it. Gaming hasn't been that exciting this gen or the past few years regardless of hardware, peripherals, software or ideas. Just boring.
MOUSE: P.I. For Hire
Expected more for GTA VI
So ehhhh, are you adding Marathon in retroactively? =L Big boo-boo!
Looks like a bloomin’ strong year, possibly one of the strongest years yet for PS5.
Couldn't fill all 5 spots sadly..
Code Violet. I know it will be pump, but I rarely sit in front of a PS5 anymore and just want it to be dino crisis - ish. It won't be, everyone else can hang on for dear life on GTA6 while I'm chuffed with RDR at 60FPS. Most of that list looks expensively disappointing.
My personal choices
1) Control Resonant ( 5 point )
2) Resident Evil 9
3)Marvel Wolverine
4)Tomb Raider Atlantis
5)Prince of Persia Remake.
So many good games, it's hard to pick 5 and put them in a proper order. If there was nothing else to release on PS5 next year, I'd be lretty content with picking between all this lot.
@HRdepartment That's a good list (I say because it quite closely matches mine).
And as someone who didnt opt for GTA6; a man of culture, and class! 😉
1. Ace Combat 8
2. Tomb Raider Legacy
3. Resident Evil Requim
4. Halo Combat Evolved
5. 007
GTA VI would have once been on that list but after multiple delays and firing staff for trying to form a Union I no longer have interest.
Ace Combat leads the other four by a huge margin, very much looking forward to playing that.
If it's unions you hit, about your game I won't give a s***.
My top
Armed Fantasia
Marvels 1943
Dragon Quest VII
Halo Combat Evolved
He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction
Cleared Hot
Trails in the Sky SC
Very Capcom heavy year for me next year:
1. Resident Evil Requiem
2. Pragmata
3. Onimusha: Way of the Sword
4. Phantom Blade Zero
5. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
Fire Emblem is my most anticipated but that's on Nintendo, so other than that-
I've gone from cautiously pessimistic to cautiously optimistic for RE9 after seeing Leon's gameplay.
The other Capcom games coming 2026 also look promising, here's hoping Pragmata is good.
Not thrilled that DQVII Reimagined is cutting half the original game's content, but I'll give it a chance.
Big Hops, Romeo is a Dead Man, Arknights Endfield, Reanimal, Demon Tides, Crimson Desert, Mouse P.I. for Hire, Saros, Control Resonant, Ontos, Enter the Gungeon 2, Mariachi Legends, Silver Pines, Valor Mortis, TankRat, Tomodachi Life, Rhythm Heaven... You get it, a lot of neat stuff coming out.
Ace Combat 8 babyyyy!
My most anticipated games are:
1. GTA 6 (many people's most anticipated game ever)
2. 007 First Light
3. Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
4. Wolverine
5. Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection
6. The Blood of Dawnwalker
7. Pragmata
8. Bus Bound/Road Kings
9. Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined
10. Control Resonant
I am still on the fence about Crimson Desert, depending on the difficulty options. I am interested in DecaPolice, but I am not sure it will even make 2026, knowing Level 5's terrible track record with meeting deadlines.
Other games not on PS5 day 1that I am looking forward to are:
Fable
Forza Horizon 6
Clockwork Revolution
Fire Emblem Fortunes Weave
GTA 6 will quite rightly sweep all the awards and attention next year if it launches in November. The few months before and after will be a total blizzard for GTA 6 news and hype.
I feel sorry for those who don't like GTA games because it will be constant on here and all over gaming sites and social media.
@Enuo sadly, there will be no liberation from the blizzard of news all over the internet when this game approaches lol. You might need to log off for a while!
Only 5 games ??
GTA 6 will certainly win this chart with so many hyped about it... good luck to them, but it's not for me.
Here are my selections :
- Crimson Desert
- Prince of Persia Sands Of Time Remake
- Marvel's Wolverine
- Resident Evil Requiem
- Lords of the Fallen 2
- Mortal Shell 2
- 007 First Light
- The Blood Of Dawnwalker
- Control Resonant
- Tomb Raider Legacy of Atlantis
- Gothic
- Phantom Blade Zero
- End of Abyss
Asseto corsa rally.
Phantom Blade Zero looks so damn amazing!
Highguard for me lol no seriously wolverine and phantom blade and ominushi now if gta 6 is 60fps i would of said that but if its the planned 30fps on ps5 no thanks ill wait for the ps6 version
Just loosely ranking them, I would say...
1. GTA 6
2. Tomb Raider:LoA
3. Wolverine
4. Dragon Quest 7 Re
5. 007 First Light
so many games i'm looking forward to its hard to pick just 5 not to mention rumored games like ac4 black flag remake thats rumored for 2026 , so there could still be games not even announced as well. then again here i am still trying to beat games i bought last year lol.
Games coming out 2026?
GTA6? Mmmmmm🤔
Struggled to cobble together 5 and unlikely to buy any of them unless on heavy discount.
Back to Uncharted and Mass Effect for me!
GTA 6, Reanimal, Saros, Lords of the Fallen 2 and Mortal Shell 2 for me
1. Resident Evil: Requiem
2. Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
3. Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties
4. Code Violet
5. Romeo is a Dead Man
I'm betting 2026 is going to be a good year, just like 2024 and 2025 were.
Crimson Desert, this looks incredibly good.
Blood of Dawnwalker, made by people that gave us Witcher 3, will be great.
Phantom Blade, but will wait for release to see the game, not the trailers.
For all else I can wait for some 30-50% sale.
No hype for Wolverine at all after what whey showed, now I know it will be Spiderman 2 in a new skin, so thanks but not paying for that.
Btw. GTA6..? Don’t think so.
