It’s been a long time since we wrote about Grasshopper Manufacturer’s cult PS4 free-to-play game Let It Die, but it remains a mildly popular endeavour for the developer.
And now it’s getting a new entry named Let It Die: Inferno, which will launch on the PS5 later this year, from 3rd December.
Publisher GungHo Entertainment explained on the PS Blog:
“You’ll take on the role of an immortal explorer, called a Raider, and embark on a quest to uncover the ultra-energy hidden within the Hell Gate, a massive chasm born from an unprecedented cataclysm. In Let It Die: Inferno, players will dive deeper into the series’ world with new stories, expanded lore, and yes – more Uncle Death.”

You won’t be alone in the Hell Gate, however, as this is a PvEvP experience where other Raiders will have similar ambitions.
Stage layouts and weapon combinations will change with each run, keeping the gameplay feeling fresh and unique with each attempt.
Pre-orders for the game are available now on the PS Store, with the following options available:
- Standard Edition
- Digital copy of Let It Die: Inferno
- Deluxe Edition
- Everything in Standard Edition
- Support Pack
- Sasuke Body Bundle
- Ability to create game rooms
- Ultimate Edition
- Everything in Deluxe Edition
- Power-Up Support Pack
- Ten Body Bundle
Is this a game you’re personally looking forward to? Do we have any Let It Die fans among our ranks? Let us know below.

I quite enjoyed Let It Die on PS4. I believe i spent like 10 hours with the game? I beat the 1st boss and managed to reach floor 16 or 17.
I probably gonna try this one too. It looks fun.
Loved the first game despite some definite jank here and there. The last few floors were pure horror because one mistake would erase hours of progress.
Looking forward to this sequel though, it is what they should have continued with instead of that ill-advised multiplayer sidegame they went with.
They found an untapped niche in the extraction-shooter genre, with this sci-fi extraction-brawler idea. Hope it pays off for them, Grasshopper is a solid AA developer with unique games.
I'll buy this on Steam if it ends up worth it, but MTX in a paid game doesn't leave a good first impression 😒 The first Let It Die got really tough, even with the free overpowered weapons, and the grind became too much for me. Really charming writing though, Jukka as Uncle Death will be sorely missed in this entry...
