Surely these fortnite songs will work in rock band 4? Not that I'm personally invested either way but it seems strange for them not to. Though I guess licenses is probably in part why they wouldn't.
Films and Music are far more accessabile long term compared to games. If something isn't streaming (which in the case of music is almost nothing of real note) then there are plenty of other ways to listen or watch, especially with decades and decades of physical releases that are almost all universally available to be experienced simply and through one single appliance.
A 4K player can play UHD, BD, DVD, CD and some even VCD. One appliance covers practically all your digital music and video needs.
The obvious problem with gaming is backwards compatibility is an afterthought across the industry. It's got a bit better recently but expecting gamers to feel comfortable with the idea of games being lost forver even more than they are now is crazy.
Also the majority of films and music still get physical releases, comparing that to gaming it's actually this industry that is furthest behind already.
My only exposure to fortnite is when my nephew comes over at the weekend and every week I'm glad I'm able to resist playing this game because spending money seems so easy. Like hell yeah I want a Donatello skin and omg I can be a candy cane with a moustache like sign me up. OH the money I could waste on this game.
It sounds fine though is a departure from the over the top gruffness of prior casting.
I also think that unfortunately if you know Yong then you can hear him in that performance and I would assume that is what has unreasonably annoyed people.
At what point do they realize that this is essentially a pointless endeavour? Okay that is probably over the top but I just don't see any real clamour for this at all and never have. Great games on the PS2, nicely upscaled on PS3 and well wouldn't a port of those of sufficed? Hardly seems worth all the effort, time and at this point overspend that has gone into it.
Probably a big downsizing. Alot of jobs that made sense when these companies were independant makes less sense now they are all under one group. Every studio doesn't need its own independant PR etc.
Sucks but was basically inevitable for many after being bought.
I'm always late to the next generation of systems. I was on the verge of buying earlier this year until the rumours of a new slim design became more concrete. I honestly do not like the design of the PS5 at all, it is style over function and this slim model, while quite clever with its simple detachable drive etc, is still ugly to me. But at least it's smaller so yes I will finally upgrade once this system becomes available in the UK. Though honestly I'll probably be playing PS4 games on it mostly, just now they'll run better. Not really a single PS5 exclusive I'm desperate to play yet.
Looks amazing though I must say I wish the other aspect of SOTN that these games would occasionally rip on also is the use of the occasional 3D polygon enemy. It was a cool look.
Is there some sort of extra that comes with buying GTA V over and over again? I just can't believe there are enough new buyers/players to keep this game in the Top 10 each month. Like do you get more GTA Online cash or something if you buy the main game on some dummy account which you then trade to your main GTA account?
How is this game still selling?? Why would they even bother with GTA 6? I have no love for the games so I can say with ice in my veins that surely GTA Online 2 or something makes more sense lol
Would love to see Playstation move to a more warmer and inviting atmosphere like Nintendo have. This cold, mysterious facade they've presented the brand as for the PS5's run hasn't been fun. State of Play's are crap and Showcases full of drone and the same dark games over and over. Not embracing a more light side has made Playstation feel more corporate than ever. A focus on less important and very expensive add-ons like VR2 and that pointless remote play thing. It all seems misguided to me.
Closing Japan studios hurt, letting a fantastic brand and oppurtunity like Astrobot just sit there the same. Just want a little bit more of the wacky and fun. And a whole lot less of the dark, cold third person action with crazy particle physics.
I don't know what I really mean tbh but it is how I feel.
Seems weird considering Live A Live dropped outta nowhere with its own HD-2D remake in the meantime. The games don't strike me as being too difficult to make so perhaps they are going above and beyond with this one?
There is no way Nintendo would sell, the most frustrating thing about them is they don't buy their own companies often enough. How Nintendo passed on Atlus I'll never know, I'm glad they did but I certainly don't understand it.
Also Nintendo for what they are are insanely profitable, to buy them out would be incredibly expensive. Like easily most expensive buyout ever expensive, definitely $100B+. While the Wii U was a dismal failure it is worth noting just how much success surrounded that single failure. The GBA, DS, Wii, 3DS and now the Switch were/are all massive successes and due to being underpowered they were/are very profitable. Also Nintendo games never go on discount and yet some of them selling 10's of millions. Nintendo have even managed to get away with their own online service that those same amount of millions probably pay for despite all the shortcomings of the service.
I cannot imagine Nintendo ever being bought out. If the Switch had also flopped then maybe but considering the opposite happened and it's on course to rival the DS and PS2 I think we can safely say that a MS buyout of Nintendo is not on the cards.
Ys and Trails have had a crossover of sorts though only as a fighting game, though it did play like an action RPG. Ys vs. Sora no Kiseki: Alternative Saga came out on PSP.
I've always just paid monthly, never understood the appeal of yearly subscriptions. I'd rather pay more overall but not have a substantial outlay ever while also having that option whenever I want to take a month or two off.
Annual subscriptions are cheaper but the piece of mind of never having to think about it while also having the option to cancel whenever I want is just better imo. Also if something ever comes up that would mean I couldn't play or take advantage of Plus then I'm not having months of membership going down the drain.
Was an avid player of Overwatch but I played less than a couple of hours of Overwatch 2. They let Overwatch 1 rot away for years with little to no additions beyond quarterly skins. Me and friends all put that down to the sequel being worked on and the frustration was simply that it was taking too long. I don't think any of us thought it would be bad. So when it dropped and the reveal was it's the same game as before but worse, it's the same game but skins are now behind battle passes. Collectively the game felt dead on arrival. Nothing to get excited about, all the new promised features missing and what was new was just price gouging skins and battle passes.
Greed killed the game. Pure greed. Asking insane prices for what was once free and expecting people to be excited for that. Lunacy.
Given this came out right when Overwatch first shat the bed I had high hopes that it would replace it for me. Especially as an Anime nut and Gundam fan.
The game is very similar to OW...which unfortunately went right down to the loading up a match playing for all of 5 seconds someone leaving and then us all getting kicked back to the lobby. This happened in my second match and I instantly closed the game down and haven't touched it since.
Honestly once I had looked through the unlockables, which were insanely grindy, I found little worth playing for. So the addition of matchmaking that didn't just add in AI when someone left like that just sent me over the edge.
I loved the idea of a Gundam FPS and this had so much going for it in terms of gameplay in that regard, but the whole concept overall just wasn't appealing.
Call of Duty is popular but it’s also old. There are more PlayStations than Xboxes so if you are Sony you need to build a Call of Duty killer/replacement.
Turns out Sony already have an ip that can do that in SOCOM. Change the series into a COD like game with some SOCOM twists. Perhaps make this a F2P title that instead is built upon and focus solely on the multiplayer.
No reason at all that Sony can’t use this to their advantage as they’ll have a sizeable install base of players who might sooner try a new product before buying an Xbox for an old one.
I don’t think I’ve ever disliked a AAA game franchise more than TLOU. I don’t know why but I genuinely despise these games and wish they would disappear.
Obviously many people love them and all power to you and I also hope you can continue to enjoy them…but we can’t be friends lol
Bandai Namco are creatively bankrupt when it comes to the majority of their Anime adaptations.
Endless fighting games and I can’t even begin to say how bored I am of the arena fighter.
I’d like to see a beat em up/action adventure instead.
Also why on earth haven’t they done a smash bros clone for Shonen Jump? If done properly (and hey they helped make Smash Bros) it’d do really well I’m sure.
That was completely uninspired. No fun at all and so many games that just felt the same as something 5 minutes earlier.
I genuinely wonder why I don't have a switch at times like this, if only because everytime I watch a Direct there is at least something that gets me excited.
This was a corporate nightmare of overly detailed, glossy, neon, partical effect filled repitition.
@thefourfoldroot1 I can't afford to drop £1000+ on 2/3 systems each generation, so I'm not going to be in multiple eco systems (I've even managed to avoid a switch despite having way more reason to be in it's ecosystem too). So having bought a PS4 after having an Xbox 360 and having that huge library of digital games now on PS4 then yes it really does matter alot, I don't want to leave those games behind now. So Xbox have to seriously go above and beyond to move the player base they would need in order to compete again. It will take awhole lot more than Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield imo no matter how good they have the potential to be.
When Phil mentioned that they lost the most important generation to lose where we all built our digital libraries and that really hit home for me. I couldn't imagine at this point jumping ship for any game. The Xbox One was so bad that Xbox pretty much can't recover without something like essentially buying COD.
Though of course comparing the quality of 1st party releases it's fair to say Xbox could do a whole lot better.
Honestly I think it's a real shame that companies gave up on this. I get times have changed but it now means the week of announcements is gone forever. Why would Xbox, Nintendo and PS ever time their announcements to be within days of each other? Obviously they wouldn't and won't going forward.
