Re: More Tales Announcements Incoming for Series' 30th Anniversary

BlaizeV

Wait we get the grade shop straight away? How does that work?

Is the game going to just come with thousands of grade from the start or what?

I know they won't but a feature for the game to check if you have a clear save from the ps3 from the cloud would be a cool way for returning players to start with all their grade.

Re: Tetris Forever Brings Over 15 Versions Together in PS5, PS4 Retro Collection

BlaizeV

@nessisonett the first two have been released on arcade archives. I'm not expecting them to appear in this collection unfortunately.

My guess for some of the remaining 6 games is likely to be the other 90s developed Tetris games. Like Tetris Plus, The New Tetris and The Next Tetris.

The licensed games like Disney and Cardcaptor Sakura are almost certainly no goes.

The very rare sega Tetris that was included with the Mega Drive mini seems like a good choice.

There has been countless phone, old pc and portable versions over the years they could do. Tetris Diamond for example has a switch port, it could be interesting to see what they might include.

The brilliant Tetris Party on Wii would be cool but I'd be less sure on that one.

I'd be all over dlc ports for extra more obscure ports but I won't get greedy just yet lol

Re: Xbox on Bringing Exclusives to PS5: The Industry Is Changing for All of Us

BlaizeV

360 won hearts and earnt Xbox a place. The Xbox One gave that all away over a single completely unnecessary policy. In order to claw that back Xbox gave us Game Pass but in doing so taught players they had no longer any reason to buy games, like literally none. Games got more expensive to make an Xbox's solution to 'win' was to give those same games away cheaper than ever.

Just endless bad decisions, chasing trends old and new. You know that AI will be the next thing they'll heavily peddle on next time. The end product is an almost pointless product.

Xbox might not die, if they can sell systems and keep a portion of that Game Pass player base happy then it has its place. But the competition is over.

Re: It Doesn't Sound Like Braid: Anniversary Edition Quite Set the World on Fire

BlaizeV

No one mentioning the obscene timeframe of announcement to release for ultimately a rerelease. Not suprised at all that it didn't do well because most who were interested would've seen that fade, not know it came out or thought it was cancelled.

I had my fun with it back on the 360, about two years ago I remember being interested in it again and was surprised the rerelease was still not out. Once it finally did I just wasn't that bothered.

Re: Sonic Team Boss Would Love to Explore a Sonic RPG Someday

BlaizeV

I don't like Sonic but given the vast array of characters available to flesh out a fun and varied world due to the long running comics, I'd say there is good potential for an interesting RPG.

Never played the one on the DS but I don't believe that used many more than the usual cast.

Re: Fans Fight for Shenmue 4, Rent Billboard in New York's Time Square

BlaizeV

Make the game less pretty, like waaaay less. Not that 3 is a great looking game but it is graphically taxing.

If a sequel looked closer to a PS3 game, maybe cel shaded or more Anime in design it could be way cheaper to produce.

It's frustrating that the vision can't be made smaller, nothing about the series needs to be big budget or graphically intense.

Hell you could make it look like an up-res Dreamcast game and fans would be happy. They would probably even prefer it and how cheap and easy (relatively) would that be to make these days?

Re: Don't Expect GTA 6, Judas, Beyond Good and Evil 2, or Josef Fares at Summer Game Fest

BlaizeV

The industry has conditioned its hardcore base to expect a blowout of big new reveals every summer. Just another thing to disappoint those who prop up the industry. Gaming is not in a good place right now, it's as bland and uninspired at that top AAA tier as it has ever been.

Weirdly as tech has developed in other industries it has allowed for more creativity and more tastes and genres to be explored and reach bigger audiences, TV and Music for example.

But for Gaming, at the top tier it has seen the opposite, as the tech has improved the variety has in turn lessened over and over again each generation. To the point where the current generation of systems almost feels like a write off.

Re: Gaming Subs Like PS Plus, Xbox Game Pass Aren't Growing At All

BlaizeV

I think there is an argument also that those of us who went digital still like to buy our games outright too. So while there is value in these subscriptions in terms of volume if you compare that to the monthly cost and then to the time it takes to finish lets say a sizable single player experience and then again compare that to how low some of these games go in price in sales then yeah at least in my friends group we opt to actually just buy the the game outright.

Like all the Yakuza games are/were on the service, but to buy every game between 0-6 costs only about the same as 3 months of the service when they are on sale (which is often). And there is more than 3 months worth of game playing in them. Also the DLC isn't included in the Plus service.

Honestly I don't see the value in the subscription long term. Might be fun for abit but ultimately I think buying games on Sale is actually a far far far better deal.

Re: Alan Wake 2 Yet to Recoup Dev, Marketing Expenses as Tencent Raises Stake

BlaizeV

Maybe make games cheaper? Less graphically intense? Though honestly I'm sure the tail on this will be long as it goes on discounts over the years. But if games understandably need to make a profit faster then make them cheaper to make, firstly by making the graphics less fancy. Sometimes we can't afford nice things and maybe the video game industry needs to realize that.

Re: Temporary PS5 Price Cuts Target Europe As Sony Makes Final Push for Goal

BlaizeV

@Zeke68 @Flaming_Kaiser This isn't a necessary comment but given people so often type things they don't follow through on I thought I would update to say that I did sell the ps5. I'll probably come back to it in the future but for now I knew I didn't need it.

Not that I expect you to care obviously, I just thought I'd mention it.

Re: Temporary PS5 Price Cuts Target Europe As Sony Makes Final Push for Goal

BlaizeV

@Zeke68 it is the slim, I've heard the original model is quieter. The slim has a terrible fan hum whatever game I play on it. Even Arcade Archive games get the fan going, my pro is silent by comparison.

Fortunately my pro is very quiet, but I don't play really intense games. Most graphically intense game i played on ps4 the regular is rocket league lol.

So not trolling but definitely not a usual case I admit.

Re: Temporary PS5 Price Cuts Target Europe As Sony Makes Final Push for Goal

BlaizeV

I bought one in the last sale and honestly I have barely touched it. I prefer the experience on my ps4 pro, the controller is nicer, the console is quiter and the party chat is better quality. There are no games on ps5 I want to play and the few ps4 games that play better on there I'm putting off playing for games that play just fine on ps4.

Biggest mistake I made this year is buying a ps5, it offers nothing unless you just have to play the flashiest, most graphically intense games. Those aren't my jam.

I should sell it tbh.
