I mean, I understand not liking a game. But don’t claim your opinion is “true”. That’s not how opinions work. Anyway, not a big seller in Japan. But it’s doing good elsewhere. Sometimes that’s just how it goes.

Japanese sure love Nintendo. Even a game that’s very much Japanese can fail there if it’s not on a Nintendo console.

I feel like whichever way gaming goes, the larger audience will clamor for the other way.

They don’t want live service, sequels, remakes, prequels, etc. Gamers basically want whatever’s not being made. Then, once that thing is being made, they no longer want it.

Hate when they release these games and don’t include Blade. UNPLAYABLE!!!

Going after the platinum in Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. And getting in some Arc Raiders.

I must say, quitting Elder Scrolls Online after 10 years had been so liberating. I feel like I can play games at my own speed now that I’m doing single player stuff that doesn’t progress without me. Really thought I’d miss it, but I’m thankful that I don’t.

Double loss for MS. Paid all the cash for this just to have it fail spectacularly! But pardon me for not feeling bad for a billion-dollar company.

Really need a good price drop for Astrobot. I wanna play it but price is still too high.

If it’s as unnecessarily gory and ridiculous as the films it’s a hard pass for me. Never understood the appeal for this franchise. Terrifier neither.

I was almost gonna feel sorry for them. Then I realized I have to work tomorrow and the billion-dollar company that owns this game shelled out $70 billion mostly just to put their name on this flaming pile of pixelized pestilence!

@Krlozgod lol I thought that first sentence would be your answer. But I’m the opposite of you. I love the show and hate the games. I went to a restaurant with my family last week and the had a PS1 at the tables. It reaffirmed my hatred for Twisted Metal games lol.

I understand the angst when Sony does things like this to existing customers. But imagine if we’d all cancel our service every time a company ticks us off? I know I’d be locked in a dark room with no electricity, no water, etc.

@LifeGirl agreed! There will come a time where politicians can cop out of their misdoings by blaming AI and we’ll all be none the wiser. Even now, Sora is being used to manipulate people with its hyper-realistic depictions of humans.

I’m sure the creators sat in meetings to discuss this, but in conclusion, they determined the financial gain outweighs the negative affect it’ll have on society at large.

@Marquez I love when they add these community things to games. Gave me some incentive to play more. But damn, when I’m stacked and then some clowns ambush me, I end my play right there. Hurling an $80 controller at a $5,000 TV is uncouth.

Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. One of my new top 10 favorites! Can’t hype this game enough. Sadly, I don’t know a single other gamer who’s played it.

@Ken_Kaniff likely sooner than that. It’s crazy what’s going on in the gaming industry. But I suspect this is all due to these companies wanting AI to create what they had to pay these people to do.

THIS!!!! I’m not saying this is why you feel the way you feel. But I’m glad you’re able to maybe think that it could be your reason. Because this happens all the damn time to female protagonists!

The most recent I’ve iteration of this is how people who halfway played Echoes of the End say they quit because the female main, Ryn, is so mean to her brother when the game begins. But she treats him the same way Kratos treats Atreus at the start of GOW 2018.

Honestly, if they got past the meanness they’d find the touching sorry and ending behind their relationship. It’s just easier for Pepe to get past an a-hole male than a female with an attitude, I guess.

I’ll never get when people say things like “Move on from Horizon” or “Move on from the Ghost games”. Why?! Why leave successful franchises when they’re still successful? These things usually come in 3s. So if they’re gonna wrap things up then do so with a 3rd installment.

The hate for Horizon is always so puzzling to me. There’s fanfic, cosplay, and entire communities dedicated to the game’s story and characters. It’s far more popular than people seem to realize.

@Oram77 a female main is almost always going to have an uphill climb to not be met with the “Mary Sue/girl boss” stamp. Especially so when she’s replacing a well-liked male lead.

Also, nostalgia can be the killer of acceptance and creativity. Too often, consumers are stuck with liking “the old one” so much that they’re not willing to give the new one a fair chance. This occurs across all media. Comics, movies, games, etc.

Would’ve beaten PS3 by now had it not been for, you know… the whole world basically shutting down.

Personally, I’ve loved this gen! The release of so many 3rd person action/adventure games and action RPGs make it one of my favorites yet. Also, the whole live service experiment thing doesn’t bother me at all. They’re a business trying to cash in on a trend. That’s understandable.

Concord’s release (and subsequent failure) didn’t prevent us from getting Ghost of Yōtei, Astro Bot, Helldivers, Death Stranding 2, etc. I think too many players were griping about “the resources” when something released that didn’t interest them.

@Robbirtles that’s likely your connection issue than an issue with the devices themselves. I’ve never had any issue connecting via Portal nor mobile phone/ipad. Are you wired or wireless?

No gaming for me this weekend. Beach vacation with the wife & kids.

But my most recent gaming consists of Platinuming Echoes of the End and on to Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden. Echoes of the End is a good game! Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden is a great game! Really slept on! Wish more people gave them a chance.

@IOI absolutely! Love this! Like, I just platinum’s Echoes of the End and I loved it! Though I don’t think many people have actually tried it so it’ll likely fail.

After Echoes of the End, I jumped into Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden and so far I’ll call it one of my new all time favorites. The game is so damn original and the voice work is top notch!

The story is heartfelt and the graphics are amazing. It’s a mixture of God Of War, LA Noire, and some LOTR Shadow of War. Great game and I don’t think anyone’s ever played it.

Smaller games can be great and there many of them out there. People just had to go to them because, due to lack of advertising, they’ll likely fly under the radar.

It feels so weird that I’ve never, ever played this game. Even weirder that I have no desire to play this game.

Please don’t do anything funky with the characters! PLEASE!!!!
