@iNightfarer this is the most logical reference to “resources” I’ve seen on this site! Maybe their plan was to release those games multi platforms so they wouldn’t have to release so many games. But now, the backtracking on that they can just maybe start releasing many first party games again.

Is there a sign up sheet for people who have no interest in a game but hope with everything in their heart for the game to fail? Because I wanna join this group! They just seem so miserable and things are going so well for me right now that I need something to bring me down.

Wake up in thr morning, turn on my console, scroll to what I wanna play and have at it. Then finish the session, upload data, and continue away from home on my Portal. Yeah, physical is definitely the way to go… 😒

OK. I’m usually one of the contrarians here. Always speaking for the industry trying to find the next big thing. But at this point just stop with the chase for next Overwatch/Fortnite/Marvel Rivals. I feel like people are not wanting to play these games as a for of rebellion against the craze.

Shout out to @get2sammyb for putting me on Double Dragon Gaiden. Having fun with it solo. Also playing SCARS Above. 5/10 game but mostly because it’s very limited. Just doesn’t have much behind the story and what you can do. Gameplay is great though.

Also, I got Split Fiction for Valentines Day from my wife. Started it with my son now that fool is never home to play with me.

On eBay I just sold some old TV legs I found in my shed. Got my Absolum money lol.

There hasn’t been a single Sony primary single player game I’ve not been able to play because it went to PC. Because that’s not how it works, right? Anyway. As long as I can Sony games on a Sony console I’m good.

Bluepoint.

Now that that’s out of the way. Excited for this. Love the series and the dev. I think PSSR has done well for what it’s been. But they’re not using it enough to justify the Pro. Even though I have one and love it.

Bluepoint never mattered until it gave gamers something new to fein outrage over.

They gradually ruined this series. Became a literal (and I mean “literal” literally) parody of itself.

After Streets of Rage, TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, and TMNT: Splintered Fate, I’ve been kind of addicted to these types of games. I’ll definitely check this one out!

Still running through Astro Bot with the wife. Went back to Division for a bit just to get the platinum. Got it. Then went on and platinum’d Division 2. Remembered how much I love the series.

I’m sorry. I’ve just never concerned myself with this part of the industry. There are so many great studios out there. Many better than Bluepoint. Move the talent from this studio to another, and have them continue the good work.

Honestly, in my many years on this site, I’ve never read the sentence “Bluepoint is an amazing studio!” Now all of a sudden the closure is this pearl-clutching incident that garners 300 comments.

@guacguacboo every game should have one. Imagine how many great games that go by the wayside (looking at you Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden) likely would’ve benefited if the skeptics were able to play a bit before they made up their mind.

@luisterr performance mode is always the best way to play! Games still look gorgeous and it’s hard to tell the difference visually. But play in resolution mode and it’s easy to distinguish the difference in frame rate.

@PuppetMaster nostalgia keeps Nintendo in people’s good graces. Nintendo is so anti-consumer but because we remember how much they meant to us when we were kids, they always get a pass.

Imagine if Sony or MS would never drop thr prices of their games? 7 year old games at full price! Underpowered hardware that’s 5 years behind the times. So much of what Nintendo gets away with, the other 2 are chastised for. I guess Nintendo is too cute to be mad at.

@get2sammyb I agree wholeheartedly! I really don’t understand how anyone can not have anything to play this generation. Heck, I made resolution this year to not buy any game over $30 and I’ve played some gems from PS+ alone. I think the fact that people are generally unhappy all around leads to the feelings of jadedness with gaming and many other things.

Love the Norse series but adore the original trilogy. Please don’t change anything! Greek games had their own identity. Kinda became the “God of War genre” (see Donté’s Inferno). Newer games are making games. But the originals are standouts.

If you check my comments on PS exclusives going to PC you’ll know what I think: Other people being able to play the games don’t stop me from playing the games. I have no loyalty to Sony whatsoever. They just make the games I love to play. I used to be a heavy Nintendo fan. Then I moved on to PS. No “pony” over here.

Wife just bought me Split Fiction for Valentine’s Day! Will likely get into that when my son gets home from work. For now, it’s Division 2 solo and passing the controller with my wife on Astro Bot. It’s a family affair!! 💕

@anubisvel my sentiments exactly when it comes to first person. Doesn’t feel more immersive to me at all. It actually takes me out of the immersion.

Every time I see “RPG” in an article title, my inner “hallelujah” comes out. This is why I absolutely love this generation of gaming!

Gameplay looks right up my alley. Will anxiously wait to see more.

@AdamNovice in a world where we can get almost everything shipped to us within 24 hours, you’ll have to expect that people will spoil themselves on instant gratification.

I won’t revel in the failure of anyone’s hard work. But at some point they’ll have to realize this push isn’t working. Far more misses than hits. And when you’re asking the gaming community to flock to a new live service every 2-3 months how can you expect any of it to be successful?

Man, I remember when I used to love stuff like this. Just can’t get into it anymore though. Last “Japanese” game I played is Nier: Automata.
