Re: Xbox Game Pass May Make Devs 'Wage Slaves', Says Ex-PlayStation Exec

@RoomWithaMoose fair point. But my fear is how this can lead to every publisher and developer having their own streaming service for their own games.

Remember when streaming was the cheaper alternative to cable because you could just pay for one service and watch what you want? Now every studio has its own streaming service and it’s upwards of $70-$100 a month to get them all. This is my fear for gaming.

And I think this is why they’re all trying to get live services going. Because if they’re making millions on a continued service, they don’t have to pump out new content.

Re: Ambitious Open World RPG Crimson Desert Delayed to 2026

@DarianStarfrog it’s not about lacking patience really. I’m a guy who loves Skyrim, Dragon’s Dogma, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and The Witcher III. Believe me, the patience I’ve had to endure waiting for those sequels is masterwork!

I liked Black Desert a little bit and was looking forward to see if they can make the necessary improvements. But with all the delays on this and the number of games releasing that are right up my alley, I’m kinda losing interest in this. I’m sure I’ll check it out when it comes. But I’m no longer anticipating it.

@DarianStarfrog @ilyn choices matter in Dragon Age: The Veilguard! My first playthrough, I made all the right choices and got the happiest ending where things worked out for the team. Second playthrough, I intentionally made the opposite choices of my first playthrough and everyone died in the end, including my character!

@naruball another Dragon Age: The Veilguard champion! Love it! If it weren’t for EA being EA it would’ve been more successful. They gave up far too quickly on the game!

And I understand how you feel about the characters. The story can move on a couple of ways and in none of the scenarios does everyone show up in the next game. I liked Neve, Harding, and Davrin the most. I also like Taash but I think they went a little too cliche with the character.

@FinneasGH Doubly agree on Dragon Age: The Veilguard! Played it through twice! First, for the happy ending with my goodie 2 shoes character. Then the bad ending with my guy who’s as much of an a-hole as the game allows. Thinking about giving it another go ‘round. Were it not for certain elements that get people upset, it would’ve been received as well commercially as it was critically.

Re: The Elder Scrolls Online Is Totally Free to Play for a Full Week on PS5, PS4

I played this game on and off repeatedly in the first year of release. I literally called it “The most boring game I’ve ever played” back then. But in year two, something clicked. I’ve played this game religiously since then. Just got off playing at a few hours ago, and I’ve not been missed many days where I haven’t played it. For maybe the past 7 or 8 years it’s been the top game when I get my Sony recap. Awesome game!

@Foxx_64740 I’m a corporate guy. I work for a corporation and know how they talk. When there’s profit, they’ll talk profit. When there’s no profit, they’ll talk revenue. Liken it to how games that underperform from a sales standpoint get their “engagement” numbers quoted and now the sales figures. No one can polish a turd better than a corporate executive!

Re: God of War TV Series 'Honours' Norse Games, Teases Greek Saga

AhmadSumadi

@Cry_Zero First of all, I’ve played every single GOW game. Haven’t missed a single iteration. Second, if the show has 10–12 episodes, they can tell his origin story through flashbacks. They don’t need to tell the entire Greek story in the single season. They don’t even have to show that he killed his wife and daughter in the first season. And finally, take it down a notch, man. You’re far too hostile for no apparent reason.

@HaveTheSauce I hear you. Myself, I don’t have much issue with Ellie. I know the actress took a whole lot of heat but the same guys who created the character went with the HBO version. I’ll admit I prefer the game version, but I don’t hate the film version. But there are a few characters I can say the TV version is better than the original game version.

Re: Star Wars Outlaws Sequel Reportedly Cancelled, Will Stay in a Galaxy Far, Far Away

@KillerBoy it really wasn’t a “buggy mess” upon release. It just had some things in the game that people didn’t like (i.e. stealth fails). Really, the only major “fix” they made was removing stealth fails. After that , most who played it enjoyed it.

Me, I didn’t mind the stealth fails. Makes more sense to be sneaking through an imperial facility, get caught, and you fail. Rather than you run for a bit and they guards forget about you.

Also, it puzzles me how people whine about stealth fails but don’t mind the Souls games that almost force you to take the same path after you die if you wanna reclaim your souls.
