Re: The Possibility of Ghost of Yotei DLC Could Be Down to You

AhmadSumadi

@Balaam_ how do you call trophies something that’s being “forced down everyone’s throat” when not a single trophy isn’t optional? Like, they’re literally useless and have not bearing on the actual games.

On topic: I rarely do DLC so it’s nothing to me. I thought about playing Iki Island after finishing Ghost of Tsushima but had so many more games left to play.

Re: Ghost of Yotei Sales Fall Off In Japan, But PS5 Exclusive Still Sticks Around in Second Place

Some of you people are so weird. It’s almost like it causes you physical pain to see something you don’t like do well. This is a single player sequel to a bane that did huge numbers during a lockdown pandemic. Even if Ghost of Tsushima didn’t have the pandemic pushing it, it’s likely the sequel would not sell as well as the original.

Yōtei’s already turned a profit after a week’s launch at full price. It’s second on a list behind a Mario game in Japan, and behind a soccer game in the UK. It’ll likely sell 6-8 million lifetime and make maybe 5x its budget. It’s only a “flop” because deeming it as such is your best coping mechanism.

Re: As Fans Demand inFAMOUS Remasters, Sucker Punch Says It Can Only Work on One Game at a Time

AhmadSumadi

While we’re on Sucker Punch, just finished Ghost of Tsushima. This means I’ve finished every game this studio has ever made save for Ghost of Yōtei and Robot on Wheels. I’ve yet to be disappointed. What a game! What an emotional ending!

On topic. I’ve love to see Fetch get a full game in this era of female protagonists. First Light was masterful in its story. Best story of all the Infamous games.

Re: Tekken 8 Newcomer Miary Zo Bursts into the King of Iron Fist Tournament This December

AhmadSumadi

When it comes to fighting games. Street Fighter will always be the most complete and most fun. Mortal Kombat will always have the best story mode and creative deaths. And Tekken will always, just exist.

Also, everyone’s right. The design feels user-generated. The character’s Madagascar ethnicity doesn’t even shine through. You take a look at her and there’s no way anyone would guess she’s supposed to be from there. Can’t believe no one pointed that out when they were designing this character.

Re: Poll: What Review Score Would You Give Ghost of Yotei?

AhmadSumadi

@MrPeanutbutterz I feel the same about Elden Ring. I don’t like it at all. But I can see why others like it. I don’t like games that are stressful as hell and I can’t relax and just take in. After all, I play games to relax and escape the stresses of life. But you’ll never see me call Elden Ring anything less than an 8/10 rated video game. And I give Dragon Age: The Veilguard a 7/10 and I love that game.

I think some people believe that if they don’t like a game it means it a bad game. That’s absolutely not true! Sometimes, a game just isn’t for you. Even then, you can still be neutral when rating it.

Re: 'It's Selling Like Hot Cakes': Hokkaido Goes Crazy for Ghost of Yotei on PS5

AhmadSumadi

@Hapless I still call it Twitter. Hell, I still call the Washington football team by the old name. I am who I am lol.

On topic: Love to see Yōtei doing numbers. Gives me a good laugh at the clowns in the user review section of Metacritic. And that one reviewer at Eurogamer who gave it a 6/10. Really?! A 6! I think that’s close the worst score I’d give a game. I’ve never played anything less than a 5/10.

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 601

AhmadSumadi

@Zuljaras I believe I’ve played a few recently. Flintlock is a great one. So is Inoria. But I think something that’s had a real negative effect on gaming is the rating/review system. Now people wait to see what the “pros” have to say before they try a game.

Remember, Faxanadu didn’t have some reviewer telling you to not play it. You tried it and loved it. That’s how we did it back then. Now, people will anticipate a game, then when it gets a 7/10 they don’t wanna play it anymore. That sucks!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 601

AhmadSumadi

@Zuljaras wow! Faxanadu! I was just telling my wife about how much i love that game! Haven’t played it in 30 years! Such a great game that’s way ahead of its time!

As for me. I’m still in the throes of Ghost of Tsushima. About 67% complete and trying to git’r done so I can move on to Yōtei. And of course, Elder Scrolls Online! ✌🏾

Re: 'Told You So': Ex-FTC Chair Lina Khan Is Having the Last Laugh Over Xbox's Activision Acquisition

AhmadSumadi

@DennisReynolds for some weird reason there are people who are fans of companies and corporations. Like, some people would call me a Sony fan. I’m no Sony fan! I’m a PlayStation fan! It’s probably the only Sony thing I’ve ever owned.

But some people are Microsoft fans and they saw the acquisition as a good thing because they love the company so much. It’s a weird notion. Like, how can you love a company that sells you everything and gives you nothing free? I don’t know…

Re: 'Told You So': Ex-FTC Chair Lina Khan Is Having the Last Laugh Over Xbox's Activision Acquisition

AhmadSumadi

Wasn’t only her. Many here in these very threads said this would happen! Hell, this has been one of my main criticisms of GamePass since its inception.

I would be amazed how the same people who’d say “Sony is greed and their greed is anti-consumer!” would also be the ones who’d praise MS for GamePass and MS’s business practices. Shortsighted as if they live in fog as thick as a well-made bowl of pea soup!

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Ghost of Yotei?

AhmadSumadi

Currently playing Ghost of Tsushima and absolutely loving it! Plan to get Yotei soon. Was gonna buy it last night but got Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Echoes of the End for the same price as Yotei. Couldn’t pass that up!

Re: Ghost of Yotei's London Billboard Is One of the Coolest Ads We've Seen in Ages

AhmadSumadi

@SeaDaVie absolutely! But you had me in the first half, not gon’ lie.

Unfortunately though, there are quite a few serious posts about exactly what you joked about. And not even just that it’s not Jin. Just that it’s a woman in general.

Saw one comment that said it ruins immersion to see a woman dispatch armies of men by herself. I’m like “Yeah. Because it’s so realistic when a man is killing armies of men by himself.” 😆
