Roguelike action RPG Kernel Hearts will now launch on PS5 when it releases later this year.
The title was previously only planned for PC, but has officially tacked on console versions, alongside a collaboration with Fortnite.
If the latter sounds strange, then it’s worth noting that Epic has been partnering with a bunch of game developers as it looks to find ways to steal customers from Steam. Titles like Crimson Desert and Honkai: Star Rail are also getting skins in the gargantuan Battle Royale.

Kernel Hearts will feature co-op multiplayer aspects, as you develop your own magical girl and work your way up the Tower of Babel.
On each run you’ll unlock new augments which will improve and buff your abilities, similar to in games like Returnal. There’ll also be persistent customisation unlocks allowing you to further shape your character.
But while we do like the overall concept and the anime-style cutscenes, we reckon the gameplay environments and enemy designs themselves look a bit bland.
Still, with no release date attached, there’s ample time for indie dev Whitethorn Games to improve on that aspect.

If we get to 'shape' our character does that means the sliders go up to 200?

I used to enjoyed magical girl / maho shoujo like Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, and Powerpuff Girls. I think Gravity Rush can also categorized as magical girl. And the story was surprisingly solid with likeable characters.
I'm not sure for this game though. I kinda dig the music and the artstyle looks clean.
I feel like it was a missed opportunity to not make this a RWBY game but my knowledge of all this is fairly limited in scope so I could be way off there. Probably just the art style.
It all looks & sounds good to me except I have a strict aversion to the game play mechanic of lather-rinse-repeat.
They knew they were cooking with that main artwork 👀
Those animation sequenzes are great. Gameplay wise, eh not sure yet. Maybe it feels better than it looks or its an early build. Cautiously optimistic
If you’re an RPG fan like I am, how can you not absolutely love this generation?! Every week there’s a new RPG being released. And not just turn-based stuff. Every iteration of RPG! You gotta love it!
Looks interesting enough to get on my radar.
Love magical girl stuff, needed more since Blue Reflection ended
Not sure about this one, has fair hack n slash combat moves I assume, ok visual novel segments, not sure what to make of it.
I haven't really gotten into Magical Girl stuff before (but like I have with odd Yuri or odd other stuff I'm willing to give anything a go, I enjoy, if good enough as some aren't, many Cute Girls Doing Cute Things anime/manga too), Gravity Rush sure, I've seen many parodies of Magical Girls type shows in other anime/manga just never experienced any really.
It looks good, just not sure if I want to play it. I need to see more I think, what the level design is.
I enjoyed games like Nights of Azure as particular as they were for gameplay/level design and I want to get the 2nd game but it's never on sale so I do just wonder if I just go for it and pay the full price or not.
Nights of Azure and Deception 4 are never on sale so it's really annoying.
I thought Death End Request had similar issues but it had been on sale a few times I caught it.
