@The_ghostmen I love every game in the series. But I do prefer the old style games. Felt very unique. The cinema that is the newer games is peak. But I miss the speed and all out mayhem of the older games.

I’m playing Ghost of Tsushima currently and I love it. Looking forward to this one!

I mean, to be honest, Switch’s novelty of being able to port it around is its main draw. As well as Switch 2 is doing, it won’t be Switch 1 because that novelty is no longer new. Just look at Wii and WiiU.

@Oram77 it’s the phones, man! Like, my wife and I walk 2 miles in the morning. We walk past high schoolers waiting for the bus and there’s at least 5 feet between then all and they’re all glued to their phones. They all line in the same neighborhood and I don’t think any of them have ever said a word to each other. That’s a far cry from how I remember the school bus stop in the mornings when I was growing up.

@Vovander this is why Jackie Chan was peak fighting realism in cinema. The choreography had many people attacking him at once and they’d use certain grunts so he knew which direction to dodge. Chan said it’s because he’d always hated seeing fights when 3 guys just stand there while the 4th guy gets his butt kicked by the hero.

@Oram77 I read somewhere that the average song nowadays is 2:21 in length vs. an average of 3:26 to 4:00 back in the 80s and 90s.

Supposedly musicians do this because of the short attention spans of steamers and the fact that a certain number of songs have to be played on a streaming service for it to count as an album sale.

So if the attention spans are shorter, the can finish the album faster with shorter songs and rack up sales. Kinda sad really lol.

Saw a thread a few days ago where one complaint was that this seems like the same old Ghost of Tsushima with nothing new coming to the table. Maybe that person hasn’t watched any of the clips? 🤷🏾‍♂️

Funny thing, though. Way back when Dave Jaffe (The guy who created Kratos) was asked who would be his choice for Kratos in a live action film, he chose Djimon Hounsou.

It was funny to see people on the internet, tell the guy who created the character, that he can't have that person play the character because that's not who the character is lol.

Not every good game sells well. And many games that aren’t so great sell based on popularity alone. To say “If the game is good enough it’ll sell” is a very shortsighted statement.

I have a Pro and a 2TB SSD installed and still only have about 566GB space available. Granted, I only play Elder Scrolls Online and most of the other games are my son’s (even though he has his own console). But losing 175GB is maybe 1 less game you can download in today’s storage environment.

Players: “Sony, you need to focus on making more single player games!”

At this point there’s nothing that can be done to make people happy. I’m a gamer and I can’t think of a single time in gaming where I’ve never enjoyed gaming and have had more to complain about than enjoy. If you’re complaining more than your gaming it’s because you wanna be.

Haven't played it yet. Never even played the series. But now I wanna give it a shot.

How did you all turn this article into a full-on discussion on Game Pass when it barely even mentioned in the article?! Also, how is an Indy dev putting their Indy game on PS Plus day 1 equivalent to something like COD on Game Pass day 1?!

Hate to say it too. But much of the negative discourse could revolve around the game having a female protagonist who’s not there to be gazed upon. Don’t know for sure. But with the discourse that surrounds games today, it’s not too far fetched.

@torquex I don’t think anyone cared about any of that. If they show her getting into the hot spring as they did Jin. I’m sure the only ones who’ll make it an issue are the ones who are weird about it and will make it about “woke” and whatnot.

@graymamba this is a notion I kinda don’t get either. Like, if a sequel feels like the previous game, but with some changes to mechanics and graphics, that’s because it’s a sequel lol. Sometimes you’ll have broad changes that people love (Helldivers 2), and sometimes you’ll have broad changes that people despise (Dragon Age: The Veilguard). For the most part, the sequel usually feels like the next part of the series. Because that’s exactly what it is!

This game looks better than Tsushima looks. I'm playing Tsushima right now and I can tell it's rebuilt for PS5, but not base PS5. While there are diminishing returns, there are still improvements.

The technological gains we had from past generations aren't as broad in the current tech landscape. I feel like some people are looking for true to life graphics at this point and we're not there yet.

I basically only communicate with my fellow Push Squarers now in regards to gaming. I’ve left so many fandoms recently (Star Wars especially) since social media and Reddit became the most vocal, unreasonable voices.

I’m still super excited for this! Didn’t have to be a big upgrade from the previous game to be honest. The amount of fun I have playing this with my wife and kids will be worth it. Anticipating the end of the countdown!

I feel like I should complain about this since I’m not interested in any of these games. But I have Ghost of Tsushima, ESO, Echoes of The End, Diablo IV, The Rogue Prince of Persia, and the upcoming Everybody’s Golf: Hot Shots so I think I’ll just not be mad over this. 🤷🏾‍♂️

The number of highly rated games this gen leaves me puzzled as to why so many believe this gen lacks in great games. First or third party doesn’t matter. Good is good either way.

@RoomWithaMoose all of this! I hate in first person games when they have you design your character and put all this cool stuff on them, just to see it every so often in a cutscene. Also, COD is the most commercialized franchise in gaming. It’s been ridiculous since after the first Modern Warfare. But I guess celebrity hate is where the ridiculousness draws the line.

There’s a new horror film releasing in which the dog is the main character. He’s trying to protect his humans from malevolent ghosts in the house. Ghosts only the dog can see. Everyone online was going nuts saying nothing better happen to the dog. Like WTH?!

There’ve even been studies where they show people humans being beaten and tortured and there were less visceral reactions to that than of videos of animals being hit by their owners. It’s the weirdest thing!

I’d long considered this to be the worst popular horror franchise. Then they made Terrifier…

As much as I am a trophy hunter I’ll say this. Gaming before trophies and achievements felt more complete. Once you finished the game you didn’t care about “cleaning up” the trophies. I get it that they put these in to keep players engaged. But I’ve seen instances where players would skip a game because the trophies are too hard to get. Or not trophy support at all. Case in point…
