A demo for the remake of PS1 tactics classic Front Mission 3 is now available to download and play on the PS Store. You can grab it through here.

That gives you just about a month to get a feel for the Squaresoft strategy game, ahead of its full release on 30th January. It’s been available on the Switch for several months already.

Here’s how publisher Forever Entertainment, who’s publishing the remake, describes it:

“The tactical RPG classic returns! Front Mission 3: Remake is the third chapter in the iconic series beloved by fans worldwide. Step into the role of Kazuki and Ryogo as tensions rise across volatile military zones. With the fate of the region hanging in the balance, command towering Wanzers and lead your squad through intense, turn-based battles.”

Obviously the first two Front Mission remakes are already available on the PS Store, and this wraps up the PS1 trilogy.

A fourth and fifth Front Mission game did release on the PS2, so it’ll be interesting to see if those get remakes too. The franchise then took a strange turn with action game Front Mission Evolved and the tangentially related Left Alive.
