Hitman

IO Interactive has announced the cross progression system for its trilogy of PS5, PS4 Hitman games shall go live on 3rd February 2026.

An updated look for the IOI Account system will help to facilitate the feature, which lets you carry over all your Hitman progress between consoles and PC, and have all the data present on multiple platforms. Once activated, you'll need to select one platform as your primary account, and then all the others will be linked to that.

The cross progression feature covers the following content:

  • Experience
  • Player Level
  • Challenges
  • Location Mastery
  • Unlocks and Inventory
  • Achievements / Trophies
  • Freelancer Mode Progression
  • Campaign Story Progress

One thing to keep in mind is that your DLC purchases don't carry across between platforms. If you own any additional maps from Hitman expansions on PS5 and PS4, they won't automatically be accessible on PC or Xbox after the update.

To facilitate the cross progression feature, IO Interactive has also confirmed it needs to turn off the Hitman 2 to Hitman 3 carryover procedure. It said: "To enable Cross-Progression in HITMAN World of Assassination using our IOI Account, the HITMAN 2 to HITMAN 3 carryover process must be closed, meaning it won’t be possible to proceed with the carryover past February 3rd, 2026."

While developer IO Interactive has a heavy focus on finishing 007 First Light for its big May 2026 release date, it's still supporting Hitman 3 with new content. Next month, another Elusive Target arrives based on Resident Evil movie star Milla Jovovich. Just recently, it also had Eminem starring in the game.
