PS Portal Poll

It feels like the PS Portal has smashed all expectations.

Sony's streaming-based handheld, which first launched back in 2023, has sold far better than most would have ever predicted, to the point where the firm's clearly been allocating more and more resources to the device over time.

Case in point, a huge new PS Portal update dropped earlier today, allowing for instant cloud streaming. That is, you can now stream PS5 games to the handheld without even touching the console itself — provided you're a member of PS Plus Premium.

It's a genuine game-changer, expanding the Portal's functionality to an impressive degree.

Plenty of users will tell you that the device has already altered their PS5 gaming habits for the better; it's a great piece of kit to have if you're living in a house where individual TV time tends to be limited.

Indeed, Sony's clearly hit on something here, and we're tempted to suggest that the PS Portal may just be one of the generation's biggest success stories. Again, much to the surprise of many.

But would you agree? Is the PS Portal really a game-changing handheld device? And if you haven't bought one already, are you tempted? Vote in our polls, and then explain your stance in the comments section below.
