PlayStation and Arc System Works have released an in-depth gameplay overview for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, giving us our best look at the game yet.

Clocking in at just under 12 minutes in length, this is just what the doctor (Doom) ordered. It's described as a 'Beginner's Guide', but given that the mechanical side of the title has been kept under wraps until this point, it makes for a very interesting watch.

The guide covers core systems like combos and character switching, while also detailing the control scheme. We've got light, medium, and heavy attacks mapped to the face buttons by default, while character-specific unique attacks and assemble techniques add some necessary spice.

Marvel Tokon Gameplay

In contrast to many team-based fighters of generations past, your team shares just one health bar, so you're encouraged to make the most of your entire squad throughout a round.

However, at the beginning of a match, only two of your characters are available to use; the other two 'join' your team as the fight progresses, and you start smashing your opponent off-screen.

We won't cover all the details here, so again, we'd highly recommend sitting down to watch the full video. Marvel Tokon's going to be playable this weekend at Evo 2025, so you can expect even more gameplay footage to find its way online over the next few days.
