Anime Crossover RPG Super Robot Wars Y Snags PS5 Demo, Progress Carries to Full Game

A demo covering the full first chapter of Super Robot Wars Y will launch on PS5 this week, Bandai Namco has confirmed.

Out on the 8th August, the demo should give you a decent idea of what this long-standing series is all about. Super Robot Wars has always been a pretty big deal in its native Japan, but this is the first time it's been locked in for a global release.

Any progress you make in the demo can be carried over to the full game, which launches later this month, on the 28th August. You'll also get a "bonus reward" for completing the demo.

So I watched the entire 8 minute trailer and I saw what seemed to be turn based game play around the 4 minute mark, for a few seconds, which is when I lost interest in playing the game.

The fan fiction aspect of mixing G Gundam and Godzilla Singular Point is enticing, just have a feeling playing it would bore me. If it was an action fighting game I think I'd be in.

G Gundam needs a DragonBall type fighting game to cover the series. Probably exists somewhere in Japan. Or maybe not since no one seems to like it but me. At least the main characters show up in several of the mosou games. Too bad this isn't 1 of those.
