Whenever a celebrity is asked about their favourite video game, they tend to give the stock answer. Unless it’s Henry Cavill on the other side of the microphone, you’re usually going to hear the same responses: Super Mario Bros, Fortnite, Call of Duty, and so on.
But for Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline, her taste is a bit more refined than that:
“The [video game] I’ve sunk the most time into is Returnal. Great game. It’s a first-person shooter [that’s] rogue-style. It’s very cool.”

Interviewer Josh Horowitz, perhaps expecting a more obvious answer, clearly has no idea what she’s talking about. We’ll let Cline off on the perspective slip, because the game does technically have some first-person elements, although its primarily a third-person shooter – as we’re sure she’s aware.
Still, it’s cool to see Housemarque’s work recognised by a celebrity like this. We doubt she’s going to sell many copies of the game here, but the 27-year-old does technically have almost 17 million followers on Instagram, so she’s not a nobody.
The Finnish team may want to consider sending the actress a goodie bag – we reckon she’d really appreciate a signed copy of that comic book that came out recently.
