Unless it pulls a Cyberpunk 2077, then 29th August 2025 really is the day you'll finally get to try out Lost Soul Aside. The PS5 and PC title has gone gold today, meaning all work on the 1.0 version of the game is complete.
In a translated post on WeChat, team UltiZero Games said the game will go on sale "as scheduled" after completing "all development content" for the 29th August launch. "Thank you for all your continued anticipation and trust," it continues. "We will meet on August 29th to embark on a journey of destiny intertwined with souls!"

Lost Soul Aside was first revealed roughly a decade ago, and has been in development for a considerable length of time, with Sony eventually picking the project up to publish it. Many delays have pushed its release date back, but now 29th August finally appears to be the day it'll make it to market. You can catch the latest trailer above.
It faces some competition for attention, though, releasing right around the same time as Gears of War: Reloaded, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, and the very same day as Shinobi: Art of Vengeance. It's available for pre-order now at £59.99 / $59.99.

Really interested to see how this turns out as I’ve heard conflicting opinions in some of the previews. I’ve become quite the fan of character-action games these last few years so if this is a 7 or above, I’m on board!
I'm really excited for this game since the first reveal trailer in 2016 😄 let's hope that the game will be great and fun to play
@LiamCroft Thank you for mentioning Cyberpunk, because every time I hear about a game going gold, I think about how that was delayed after the announcement 😆
Is it just me or do several upcoming games have the same "look"? This, Tides of Annilation, the recent Clair Obscur, the Lies of P dlc (not sure if it released yet) that Elden Ring game.
I know the games themselves look different, Clair Obscur had some color, but the marketing stills all have the same gray Unreal engine look to me. Oh and Stellar Blade. Not sure if it's a Chinese game thing or a PS5 4k game thing, or my eyes are just going bad thing but my brain is reading it as a trend.
Not all games obviously, Astrobot exists unto itself, GTA has its own look, just a bunch of them. That remind me of 1886 The Order.🤷♂️
I am old and watching some of the videos of this are close to giving me a headache. Never experienced that from a game before. There are just way too many effects happening.
Other times the game looks pretty cool, imho. So, kinda on the fence about this one.

After so long in development, it is entirely possible that this game will be a mess. As such, I shall await the reviews, and hands on of other players, before making up my mind as to whether to by it...
@rjejr Good point! Some developers use shared assets (reworked) and there might be elements of the same game engine across the board. But I think it’s just a trend, mostly. I wouldn’t say they all look the same but have a similar palette in terms of design. Some will use that as a marketing tool to appeal to the masses, so you can say: “Hey! This game looks similar, let’s check it out!”
@man_what you are aware Sony devs are helping on this gam,e right???

Love how people online say where are the new games but will buy remakes and remaster over a new game.
It looks...sort of fun? But also pretty mid. I'm interested in the genre so I'll monitor the reviews, but I don't have my hopes up.
Ive seen a fair bit of footage of this game, and it looks great. We wont know of course until proper reviews / Tech reviews (fingers crossed as UE4) if its as good as it seems, but the same is true of most 3rd party games.
Im more excited for this than the remakes listed because I played Snake Eater a lot the 1st time around, and Gears of War was highly overrated imo (played it on XBox360).
@LiamCroft nice goin u just jinxed it smh 🤦
I feel like this is the type of early 2000s game you’d find in a Walmart bargain bin mixed in with straight to video dvds for $5.
@aethermath "say: “Hey! This game looks similar, let’s check it out!”"
Probably true. Maybe my problem is I just don't like what they look like more than them all looking the same. Though a lot of them do.😁
All the 3 word titles lately aren't helping either. 😂
