Following a leak last week, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted has now been officially announced.
Publisher EA released the below trailer to confirm the news:
Replanted is a remaster of the original Plants vs. Zombies game, bringing it back with updated visuals and more.
As well as all the content you remember, Replanted will include new stages, modes, and even local co-op.
The official site confirms all this and more, such as new mini-games like Cloudy Day and Rest In Peace "that push your strategic planting to the max".

The following quote from the site also suggests there may be some sort of museum mode for fans to enjoy too:
Revisit the epic backyard standoffs you remember, this time with new levels, fresh twists, and 15 years of never-before-seen franchise history at your fingertips.
It comes to both PS5 and PS4 on 23rd October, 2025. Are you happy to see the return of Plants vs. Zombies? Plant your thoughts in the comments section below.

Wishlisted, but at £18 on PS5 I won't be pre-ordering. That seems a little steep for what was (in 2010, when I bought it) £1.79 on iOS. Or when I bought it again on Vita for £8.99 in 2014. I'll wait for a sale on PS5.
I'll buy it only if they bring back the original Michael Jackson dancers. EA can afford it.
I'll never get over the fact that PVZ 1 was so damn good and they put out an insane microtransaction mess as the second one. Such a waste.
Comes out on my birthday! Let’s go! Give me something to do until Dragon Quest I and II comes
Take my money... that's one more old-school favourite no longer locked to the PS3.
Take note PixelJunk!
I did enjoy playing this back then but can't really say I'm bothered about playing it again
With touch-screen support and mouse controls this definitely goes for the Switch 2.
Is this from PS3 version?
@Contimaloris EA ruined Popcap IMO. Another once great developer their greed and demands ruined.
@Topov81 Being able to play 360 games like this on Series X is one of the few things I really like about Xbox. No need for this new version which is basically the same thing, and I like the simple retro charm of the original anyways.
Something fun for my son and I to play together
@JayJ
PS players don’t get the privilege of being able to play the PS3 version on the PS4 or PS5.
Also they may take the older version off stores to get people to buy the newer version.
I played a lot of the 360 version of it but I don’t currently have my Xbox working on my TV and I mostly game on my PS5 now so I’m gonna get the new version of it.
At £17.99 it’s a lot cheaper then most of the other remasters we’ve had including TR 1-3 Remastered, TR 4-6 Remastered, Soul Reaver 1&2 Remastered, The Thing Remastered, Quake, Quake 2, Doom 1&2 and the HD remaster of Croc Legend of the Gobbo’s
