Something that PlayStation fans will have to get used to is the idea of Sony releasing first-party games on PC. That's just how things roll, now. After the successful launch of Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone on Steam and Epic Games Store, Sony has doubled down on this initiative. PC porting house Nixxes is now part of PlayStation Studios and will be helping Sony's dev teams convert their titles for personal computers. So, what's next on the list to make the jump? It could well be Uncharted.
An image has hit 4chan, of all places, seemingly leaking the existence of an Uncharted game collection for PC. You can view said image through here, although we would stress that it's highly likely to be a fake. The picture splices together key art from Uncharted 4: A Thief's End and the Nathan Drake Collection for something apparently called Uncharted: The Naughty Dog PC Collection, which doesn't sound very catchy. It will allegedly include Drake's Fortune, Among Thieves, Drake's Deception, A Thief's End, and The Lost Legacy. The image also suggests the official announcement will come on 6th September, with a release date of 7th December 2021.
Again, we're not convinced the image itself is legitimate, as it could easily be a fake mocked up by, well, anyone. However, an Uncharted collection for PC makes a lot of sense, considering all the aforementioned entries are on PS4 in some form and Sony has suggested older titles will move to PC first. Plus, why wouldn't Sony want to stimulate more sales in a dormant but popular franchise? While the 4chan "leak" is probably not real in itself, don't be surprised if a similar project is announced in the future.
We'll of course update you as and when anything changes. What do you think about this? Is Sony preparing an Uncharted collection for PC? Is the leak real or fake? Discuss (nicely) in the comments section below.

I’d just love UC4 to get 4K/60fps so I can replay it on PS5 but I’m asking a lot.
At least give us 60fps on PS5. I hate this...do much in a way, but I understand the reason.
If such a collection is happening then I wonder if it's Nixxes's first project.
Ok.. So Sony has the time and money to release this on PC but is to lazy to have an event. I am an owner of all PS consoles and even the stupid vita (30 + games) but i am looking in envy to xbox and wondering if i made an error by buying the PS5 instead of Xbox series X.
Didn’t Sony already “leak” this information themselves?
There was an investor Relations document that highlighted PC ports and their success, and had an attached image of Horizon:ZD, Days Gone and Uncharted
Sony is cutting back on the merit of purchasing PlayStation.
@lolwhatno
1. I envy Xbox because they will have two new games released being: halo and Forza. I know Sony just released GoT directors cut but i wish they had games in the pipeline for this year.
2. MS is very upfront about releasing games on PC. Sony is dead silent about everything and out of nowhere we have a new rumoured pc release.
3. Sony promised an update on God of War and PSVR 2 and their other titles before announcing the state of play deathloop. Moreover they skipped both E3 and gamescom. Its time they inform is on any development regarding any PS5 game.
I mean, cool for PC players. It won't affect me one bit.
And, honestly, after all the issues that Horizon had when it was initially released (from what I have read, anyways), it's just nice to have the simplicity of a console: insert game, let the system do what it needs to do, play game. No tweaking needed.
I remember reading an article on the 2-hour time limit for refunds on Steam and the comments really made me feel great about my decision to switch to console-only over a decade ago after being a mostly PC gamer for years: sometimes it takes more than an hour of play-time simply getting game settings right to meet your machines system specs before you can even make the decision whether the game is something you even enjoy or not.
Over an hour of time I now spend enjoying a game on a console would have spent tinkering with in-game settings on PC. I don't miss it one bit.
I would buy Uncharted again for PC.
Easily my favourite PS Exclusive right now.
@Sanquine Don't forget:
4. God of War Ragnarok and GT7 were announced to be cross-gen games months after the PS5 released. So the next first-party PS5-only game will release....when? No one knows because Sony is silent on that front. With all the delays that have been happening with COVID, I wouldn't expect a major first-party PS5-only release until at least 2023.
Microsoft has been up-front from the very beginning that it's games would be available across all it's platforms for at least the first two years. Though, that line will get a little blurrier in December when Cloud Streaming hits Xbox One and Series X versions of games are available to play on Xbox One (even if they do have to be streamed). Microsoft could easily stop developing first-party titles that natively target Xbox One era platforms and just simply use Cloud Streaming as "available on Xbox One".
@Sanquine It's not the end of summer yet, besides if Sony don't have anything substantial to show yet then you can't force them.
MS are making a lot of noise cos their desperate to gain a foothold and even then it hasn't translated to them beating the PS5.
I'd totally get it on PC if they include the mutliplayer. Otherwise I probably won't get it until it goes on sale. I played the crap out of the multiplayer on PS4.
Keep releasing on PC and end up like Microsoft Sony, fact.
5 seems like a lot of games to release in 1 bundle, even if they are old. I wouldn't mind them releasing the 3 game Uncharted collection on PC next to new & improved 4 & LL on PS5, a little something for everyone. If you own a PS5 but haven't played 1-3 yet BC would let you play the bundle and it's like $10 almost anywhere.
That's what I'd suggest anyway, seems fair, and leaves some money on the table for later when they port U4: Complete to PC.
I consider Uncharted the best series in gaming so if PC players, get it, congrats to them. Take it with a grain of salt until confirmed though.
It'd be nice if Sony were to announce a new Uncharted coming to PS5 where this collection could be announced for PC after the PS5 announcement. Sony has been making a lot of mistakes for PS5 though. Primarily... little to no communication with their userbase.
With every known first party PS5 game also coming to PS4, there's little to no reason to own a PS5 at the moment. I guess that's one way to get at the scalpers.... make their inventory essentially useless.
Am I the only one that really, reeeeeeally wants to like these games, but they've just not clicked with them? I LOVE both of "The Last of Us", but even after playing all of Uncharted (minus Lost Legacy) it just didn't hit me. I think it may be because there's no element of leveling up or crafting? All that being said though, I'll always checkout what Naughty Dog releases!
Nice for PC only players. You peeps are in for one hell of a treat.
Make sure they run on SteamDeck.
If they are smart, Sony would start putting a SteamDeck option right in the graphics setting just like "High"
If we thought the Golden Abyss days on VITA were great. Sony games on Steam would be a golden age for handhelds!
one of the things that you casual people don't know is that PS5 outselling Xbox consoles is not a win. here's why: console hardware is not profitable. so xbox doesn't manufacture a too many consoles. you know why? cause they sell their games to over 1.3 billion PC users. that's what Sony is trying to copy. they're bringing their games to PC, a platform that didn't cost them a cent. even if the PS5 eventually becomes profitable it still won't cover the costs of all units they sold at a loss in the past year.
so that is why they bringing their games to PC
@BRUTALSAM
PS5 no longer selling at a loss for disk version, pretty good after only 6 months or so sales in a pandemic.
https://www.thurrott.com/games/playstation/254057/the-499-playstation-5-is-already-profitable
@BRUTALSAM
So what do you think happens if there is 50 million ps5 but only 10 xbox series out. Does third party games come to Xbox if they dont pay for it to come to gamepass.
Cause they can only put it on ps5 and pc and skip xbox if there isnt enough people there.
Oh, Sony. More and more as time moves on you're making your platform irrelevant. The fans and customers that have bought your console and supported you for years and years and you treat us like second class citizens on the primary platform you have.
You're giving these people the superior version every time.
As time goes on you'll end up like Microsoft, with a console that sells very little compared to the generations past.
You'll push more and more of your once loyal customers away.
The end result, you'll lose more money. You know why? PC is an open platform that is very easy to pirate games on and I hear a lot of PC players proclaim that they don't buy games, they pirate them. So when you sell less than ever because more people will question the value and point of owning your console, don't come crying, it'll be on you for being stupid and forgetting why PlayStation was so successful, what made it great, what was its biggest allure?
Exclusives.
They differenciate one platform from another. Without them you are irrelevant.
Good luck, Sony.
Nintendo are the last worthwhile console platform who still works they way things have always been.
@BRUTALSAM This is utter nonsense, console sales are extremely important otherwise why even bother making the hardware at all? PlayStation's main revenue source is from the 3rd party games sold on its platform (retail or PSN) and PS+ subscriptions. More console sales = more customers, it's really that simple.
They make less money on PC ports because they have to share revenue with Valve and Epic and also contend with the rampant piracy; something that never was a concern on their own platform. Moves like this is jeopardising their business and actively discouraging people from joining PlayStation.
@BRUTALSAM ... 1.3 billion PCs doesn't equate to 1.3 billion PCs that can handle modern gaming... or even last gen gaming. While I'm counted in that 1.3 billion, I don't use my PC for gaming outside of Unreal Tournament 2004. I use it for high rez photo and video editing. My PC's graphic card is probably equal to that of an Xbox 360.
So no... your "1.3 billion" number is a severe exaggeration.
@GADG3Tx87
Selling 5-10 year old games is not making their console irrelevant.
If Uncharted now come to pc that is 7 games total from ps4 library of around 500 exclusives going for pc.
They will not put out like 500 games on pc and cant see them do day one either.
But if you are so hurt by this maybe dont get a ps5 or sell yours if you have one and join pc and Nintendo.
@Neverwild
The PC players don't mind waiting as long as they come. It's not like these games have to be played day one. Days Gone is less than 2 years old and on PC.
Things are moving faster now, you said 7 years that's because they weren't doing this 7 years ago.
And who's to say they won't start doing this day one? Look at the changes we're seeing that a couple of years ago seemed like it would never happen.
As for pirating as much as I hate to admit it when these games arrive on PC pirating starts happening immediately. Again, hate to be a hypocrite but less than 24hours after Persona 4 Golden was ported I was able to pirate it. (Yes, to my shame.)
@eltomo Not to me, I don't like play on PC, so whatever. While consoles still exist, I'll keep buying all of them.
@BRUTALSAM 1.3 billion HAHAHAHAHAHA
@dasd2 Why? I don't see that way, I'm not a PC gamer. They can release all exclusives on PC and I'll keep buying consoles.
Just start bringing all releases day one to PC so I can dump their consoles.
@Sanquine I get what you are are saying but I think a part of it is that Sony hit their deadlines with launch window titles like Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, Ratchet, Returnal etc. whereas MS are only just getting their initial first party games now, they've literally had to wait months and months.
Plus all of them are cross-gen and PC too.
I love my Series X but it's been pretty barren on the new games front for the first 9 months.
@Sanquine how dare you to call Vita that name. Vita isn't stupid, it's just misubderstood in our society.
Removed - trolling/baiting
Sony's purchase of Nixxes was very clearly all about PC ports so this would not surprise me in the slightest.
@Sanquine You're envious that they went 11 months without any first party tittles and now they're getting 2 at the end of the year?
@Sanquine simply ask yourself, will you want to play any of GoW, HFW, GoT sequel, GT7, Spiderman sequel, last of us sequel or anything new naughty dog will do, next from software exclusive (rumoured) and any other PS exclusive coming for the future.
If answer is no then I recommend Series X. No matter how great an Xbox may end up being I couldn't do without the Sony games. They're just too good to miss out on.
@Sanquine the console hasn't even been out for a year , and you are already complaining? why would they show off stuff that isn't read to show off yet? it feels like people rushed out to get a ps5 to just complain.
@GADG3Tx87 I generally agree but the last bit really lets your post down. If PC releases are bad because of easy piracy, Nintendo are just as bad since, from the GameCube onwards, it's been incredibly easy to emulate their games and pirate them on PC. The Wii was being emulated to a high standard pretty much from launch because it was basically a GameCube - thus Dolphin, the GC emulator, could emulate it with very little work.
The Switch was hacked almost immediately so nearly for its entire lifespan you can, if you wish, never pay for a game and even install a kind of piracy eshop on it. You even regularly get games a week, or even a few months, early. Basically, if anyone is rendered pointless by piracy, it's Nintendo. Their stuff is hacked early and easily and is also easy to emulate. Sony eventually releasing some games years later on PC that people can pirate isn't really comparable to all games being piratable - and not only on the same day but regularly even before legit copies of the game are on sale.
And yet Nintendo are currently doing very well, as are Sony. It's more about slowly damaging the brand image, I'd say.
@GamingFan4Lyf 2 hour time limit? Are you talking about the 2 hour time limit for refunds...
At least PC let's you do refunds on digital games after you download the game. Good luck getting a refund from Sony or Nintendo on the console front. This is the one thing PC gaming truly outshine consoles in is with their refund policy.
@Floki Oh...yeah..oops. Fixing comment to reflect.
My point wasn't so much about refunds, though. It was that people spend so much time optimizing the game for their hardware on PC and consoles simplify that completely. I just never really thought about how much time I was spending tinkering with games on my PC rather than just playing and enjoying my games.
@Sanquine I've been feeling the same way. My main issue is the increase in game prices, and the unwillingness to give proper next gen patches without charging us cough GoT: Director's Cut cough
Sure 60FPS is nice... But when you still have a PC version of the games that improved much more, and still offer 60FPS. That kinda lazy... I would expect a basic 60FPS patch from EA or Activision.
Sony should have announced a proper next gen patch for HZD when they announcement of the delay of HFW
Now that there’s a studio specialised in ports of old games it’s more acceptable for PS gamers because the studios can focus on developing console games instead of porting old games.
I do think it’s not needed and a waste, (as a PS gamer I don’t do virtue signalling or cheering for Sony making more easy money), but the fuss (particularly in the press) about this ‘leak’ is staged because that was a known fact.
@ChrisDeku yeah Uncharted 4 is slated for PC release
@Sanquine well it is your choice. Currently it seems Xbox is more value due to Game Pass and also they don't (yet) charge $70 if it is going to Game Pass anyway.
I mean, Xbox currently has more next gen exclusives(yes they will come to PC but only console is XBOX) like Redfall, Starfield, Outer Worlds 2, Microsoft Flight Simulator, new Fable, sequel to Hellblade and many more. But it is entirely up to you
@themightyant yeah Halo Infinite and Forza is cross gen. Flight Simulator isn't though.
And also remember that Miles Morales isn't a TRUE next gen title. Same with GT7, next GoW, HFW.
@anoyonmus Flight sim will be available on Xbox One through cloud gaming in a month or so, but I get your point.
Regardless I don’t think there’s many/(any) games across ALL consoles that could be considered truly next gen yet. This is hardly surprising for several reasons. Not least to change design mindset and tools to make a game from the ground up that is built to truly take advantage of the new hardware will take years. We haven’t had enough time.
Additionally it makes little business sense with the relatively low number of units available (even if it’s a record fat uptake) 20 million series x|s and PS5 is a long way from 160 million last gen consoles and only feasible as a loss leader for the first parties.
As such the smart move is to have cross gen games for several years and have smart upgrades for next gen systems. Personally I’m happy with what series X and PS5 DO have.
Cue all the Sony sycophants whining that others get to play the Uncharted games.
@dasd2 grow up. None of these games are even vaguely new. It hurts no one to have them on PC now.
@Sanquine Event? you want to play games or watching events? Playstation has numerous exclusives throughout the half of 2021 while the xbox has nothing exclusives for half of 2021.
I don’t really like it but then everyone should get the chance to play these games to be honest 🤷🏻♂️
@themightyant I dunno demons souls looks pretty next gen to me
@WolfKingk87 look it up fam. there are 1.3 billion PC gamers in the world. and a total of 3.27 billion overall gamers. look it up
@Futureshark I don't think the console becoming profitable after many months will cover the costs of all the units manufactured and sold at a loss before. both xbox and Sony sell consoles to sell games on. not to make profit off. maybe it gets a bit profitable but it will be like 5% of the general revenue.
