@lazarus11 seriously. Bloodborne remake, Resistance trilogy, Killzone trilogy, Uncharted Golden Abyss remake… the possibilities were endless.

@dark_knightmare2 well like I said above, if Marathon is a success I will give them credit, but I’m very skeptical. I also think people have a right to be upset at the Bluepoint closure because both the remake of SoTC and Demon’s Souls were amazing and they had a lot of potential.

@Oram77 imho the Bungie acquisition was one of Sony’s worst. But if Marathon’s a runaway success then l be happy to admit I was wrong.

Sony sits on a goldmine of old IP. Better to have one studio devoted to remakes and remasters than have Naughty Dog, Bend, and Guerilla on them.

@Oram77 why shouldn’t people be mad? They closed one of their best single player studios at a time when the biggest complaint is the lack of single player exclusives. Meanwhile studios like Haven and Bungie are still around.

Still excited, but I was hoping this would be more akin to Resident Evil 7 than Village.

@ButterySmooth30FPS Remakes and remasters are popular and sell well. Until they aren’t/don’t, don’t expect publishers to stop releasing them.

@Jireland92 at least they’re experimenting with different concepts. F was very different from 2 remake and this looks to be a lot different than both of them.

I actually like this art style more than the PoP: Lost Crown art style I was expecting.

Konami has honestly made a huge comeback and everything from the Rayman remaster to SH Townfall to the 2D God of War was amazing. So much good stuff in this SoP.

@Nepp67 agreed. A lot of survival horror games have slow movement/limited stamina purposely, not just SH.

Resident Evil 7, The Evil Within games, Alien Isolation, and Cronos: The New Dawn come to mind.

I have been saying for the past couple years that they should port this game to current gen consoles. Looks like my wish is coming true!

Capcom is hands down the best publisher this gen. While others have floundered, they have been firing on all cylinders. 🔥

If they can’t manage a remake, I highly doubt they can pull off a new 3-D entry.

If Ubisoft couldn’t remake a linear 8 to 10 hour game from 2003 (Sands of Time), does anyone believe that they will be able to successfully remake AC Black Flag, a massive open world game that’s 3x the length?

Also, I am 95% sure we will never see that Splinter Cell remake, either.

Out of the mainline games they haven’t remade, Code Veronica needs it the most, so I’m very happy about this.

I wish after 1 and Before the Storm they had just stuck with keeping the series an anthology. I loved LiS 2 and True Colors and want to see new characters with different abilities.

I want to hear more about Kingdom Hearts IV, Code Veronica remake, the Max Payne remakes, Judas, Alien Isolation 2, etc.

@UltimateOtaku91 most likely that “Project M” horror game. I don’t see how it could be Silent Hill 1 Remake when we haven’t even seen gameplay for Townfall yet.

There’s plenty of life left in the PS5, so this is probably the best course of action.

I wouldn’t be mad if this generation lasted until 2029.

Having grown up on Agent Under Fire, Nightfire, and Everything or Nothing, I miss the days of good Bond games.

So while this is mildy disappointing, I’d rather they take their time and get it right.
