Beyond Good & Evil 2, announced back in 2017, is MIA/in development hell
Prince of Persia remake has been pushed back to an unknown date
Skull & Bones looks to be a bare-bones (no pun intended lol) Sea of Thieves
The Avatar game has reportedly been pushed back to 2023 or 2024
They continue to shill crappy, half-arsed live service games that they don't even support after awhile (HyperScape, Roller Champions, etc.)
They've released so many shoddy, second-rate games in the past few years that rely on the same open world, 10,000-icons formula (Far Cry New Dawn, Watch Dogs Legion, Valhalla, Rainbow 6 Extraction, etc.)
I honestly have no hope for Ubisoft at this point. They used to be one of my favorite publishers (Rayman is one of my favorite franchises) but not anymore.
@themightyant As much as I loved Until Dawn, I can't help but feel that because it was their first release in the interactive drama genre, people view it with rose-colored glasses.
I'll agree Man of Medan and Little Hope we're average at best, but House of Ashes and The Quarry were on par with UD. Maybe it's the genre people are growing tired of, and not the games themselves.
I’m cautiously optimistic about the Avatar game. On one hand, totally not a fan of Ubisoft and their open world game design. On the other hand, Avatar in video game form COULD be awesome.
THPS4 was one of the first 3 games my brothers and I got with our PS2 (along with GTA Vice City and Kingdom Hearts). The soundtrack alone is stamped into my mind.
Resident Evil 7 was and still remains my favorite of the series. They really nailed it with the exploration and setting (obviously reminiscent of the original) and the fact that it really brought the horror back and made you feel underpowered.
I really liked Village as well, but it was definitely the less scary of the two.
A lot of these horror franchises would lend themselves to awesome single player survival horror games. It's a shame everyone is chasing the asymmetrical multiplayer route...
I would say that RE4 was able to toe the line between action and horror successfully, so it makes it a lot easier for Capcom to lean into the horror more with the remake.
RE5 on the other hand went full action, so it would be more difficult for them to remake the game (and introduce more horror) without it feeling like a totally, 100% different game.
@GamingFan4Lyf It would be interesting to see if it would even be possible to remake 5 and 6.
If they did, they would have to totally change the tone and gameplay loop. I liked RE5, but it was just a third person shooter at best. RE6 was the only RE I hated and couldn't bring myself to finish.

Ubisoft is rapidly falling apart:

Re: Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Could Release Early 2023, According to PSN Database Listing
Played Fallen Order earlier this year and loved it, so I'm happy the sequel will (presumably) be coming out soon.
Re: Ubisoft Delays Its Avatar Game, Could Be a 2024 Release
Ubisoft is terrible with keeping their release dates. Skull and Bones, Prince of Persia remake, and now this?

"While many still feel Supermassive Games has never managed to hit the heights of Until Dawn on PS4 in the time since 2015..."
Many, a.k.a Push Square
Re: The Devil in Me Is Classic Hotel Horror, Out for PS5, PS4 This Year
@torne I think you'll like House of Ashes. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.
As for their review, it was so low that the PS5 version of the game took a huge hit on Metacritic.
Re: The Devil in Me Is Classic Hotel Horror, Out for PS5, PS4 This Year
After the amazing House of Ashes and the underrated (especially by PushSquare) The Quarry, I'm very excited for this.

Re: Ubisoft Forward Showcase Set for 10th September, Featuring Assassin's Creed and More

I hope it's another new IP then. As much as I loved GoT, we need some more variety in Sony's first party lineup.

EA trying to be relevant is the funniest thing about this.

Ubisoft is my least favorite publisher, but if they announced a new Rayman game or a remaster of the first one, they would be bumped up on my list.
Re: A Plague Tale: Requiem Brings Back Rats on 18th October for PS5
October is jam packed with releases: Forspoken, Gotham Knights, Marvel's Midnight Suns, Modern Warfare II, and now this.
Meanwhile November is just crickets lol

@WaveBoy Yes, the house/greenhouse/swamp section of the game was definitely scarier than the ship and cave part.

Another live service game for Ubisoft to abandon within a year.

Re: Geoff Keighley Says to 'Manage Your Expectations' for Summer Game Fest
I just want a release date for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, A Plague Tale Requiem, and the new Dark Pictures entry.
A couple new reveals would be enough for me, but I think the Xbox showcase will also have some multiplatform announcements as well.
