@torne I think you'll like House of Ashes. It definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

As for their review, it was so low that the PS5 version of the game took a huge hit on Metacritic.

After the amazing House of Ashes and the underrated (especially by PushSquare) The Quarry, I'm very excited for this.

Sounds like you just don't like the genre... doesn't mean the game sucks though.

I hope it's another new IP then. As much as I loved GoT, we need some more variety in Sony's first party lineup.

I’m cautiously optimistic about the Avatar game. On one hand, totally not a fan of Ubisoft and their open world game design. On the other hand, Avatar in video game form COULD be awesome.

Ubisoft is my least favorite publisher, but if they announced a new Rayman game or a remaster of the first one, they would be bumped up on my list.

October is jam packed with releases: Forspoken, Gotham Knights, Marvel's Midnight Suns, Modern Warfare II, and now this.

Meanwhile November is just crickets lol

Just what we all needed and wanted...another multiplayer, live-service shooter.

THPS4 was one of the first 3 games my brothers and I got with our PS2 (along with GTA Vice City and Kingdom Hearts). The soundtrack alone is stamped into my mind.

@WaveBoy Yes, the house/greenhouse/swamp section of the game was definitely scarier than the ship and cave part.

Another live service game for Ubisoft to abandon within a year.

Resident Evil 7 was and still remains my favorite of the series. They really nailed it with the exploration and setting (obviously reminiscent of the original) and the fact that it really brought the horror back and made you feel underpowered.

I really liked Village as well, but it was definitely the less scary of the two.

I like linear games more than open world ones, so this sounds right up my alley.

I was a huge doubter of this remake when the rumors started floating around awhile ago, but after seeing the footage of the game I am sold.

A lot of these horror franchises would lend themselves to awesome single player survival horror games. It's a shame everyone is chasing the asymmetrical multiplayer route...

Recently replayed Innocence on PS5. The game was even better the second time around and I'm excited to see how Amicia has matured.

Sound and looks like Visage, which was amazing(ly scary).

If this is even half as frightening as Visage, then count me in!

I would say that RE4 was able to toe the line between action and horror successfully, so it makes it a lot easier for Capcom to lean into the horror more with the remake.

RE5 on the other hand went full action, so it would be more difficult for them to remake the game (and introduce more horror) without it feeling like a totally, 100% different game.

@GamingFan4Lyf It would be interesting to see if it would even be possible to remake 5 and 6.

If they did, they would have to totally change the tone and gameplay loop. I liked RE5, but it was just a third person shooter at best. RE6 was the only RE I hated and couldn't bring myself to finish.

Guys and gals, do not sleep on Tormented Souls. Plays just like classic Resident Evil, difficulty and all, but very scary and atmospheric!

I just want a release date for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, A Plague Tale Requiem, and the new Dark Pictures entry.

A couple new reveals would be enough for me, but I think the Xbox showcase will also have some multiplatform announcements as well.

We need more space horror games like this, Dead Space, and Alien Isolation.

The Callisto Protocol is my MOST anticipated game of this year. Merry Christmas to me.

I really don’t get the hate for full remakes of old titles.

If a game was good when it was released but looks/plays very dated then why shouldn’t these companies introduce these games to a whole new generation of gamers?

I’m 28, but I’ll be the first to admit there’s a lot of older titles I didn’t get to play that I’m glad were given a full remake for me to experience (Resident Evil 2, for example).

I second this. I hope PS Studios explores different genres in regards to any new IPs from here on out. Returnal was a good first step. But let’s see a FPS game, a survival horror game, a metroidvania, a stealth game, etc.

I don't care what anyone says... Hello Games has more than redeemed themselves with all these free updates and support that they didn't have to do.

I haven't played NMS in years, but I'm thinking of jumping back in just to see how much it's changed.
