That's good. People opted to hate this game because of the timing of a trailer. Isn't better to read and watch gameplay previews and maybe play the game for themselves before forming a opinion?
" we wanted to know the kind of game that Geoff Keighley was willing to bet his entire reputation on" . Wow, that's quite dramatic.
@PuppetMaster When I played it the controls were responsive. never had trouble with it. I even completed the game on EX-Hard many times. Did all the Special Missions too.
It ws one of my very first PS2 games. I enjoyed it a lot back in the day, got everything, completed every mission. Loved the story and production values. A 7,5 game in my opinion.
I wouldn't mind a return in some way. I know it won't receive the same treatment of Crisis Core, as the plot is after FFVII as the Remake games are taking a different story path, but I hope they adapt this game in some way into this new events.
At least some elements already made their way to Remake/Rebirth.
@CWill97 I fear it won't be, at least on PS5. This s*&% new policy they implemented that don't allow compilations and such to have multiple platinums is very sad. The remaster of Soul Reaver have only 1 plat for SR1, not for SR2 on PS5 (the game is listed as DLC). On PS4 the 2 plats remains.
Very close to finish the story of Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2. A interesting entry in the franchise, I'm curious for the conclusion of that plot (and eager to play Defiance next).
Having already beaten the campaign of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, I will do some of the post-game now. This game was a wild ride, really impressive production values.
Recently returned to Hades to mop some missions I left undone. A challenging, amazing game. And I will continue investigating the murders in Judgment.
@themightyant I agree. People give too much credit to "gamers" on youtube and tik tok who lives on hating games. I trust my own judgment 1st, and I preffer to focus on praising hat I liked. Those "10 worst games of 2025" videos and articles are a hard pass for me.
This weekend I'm continuing the hunting of my Shinbakufu targets in Assassin's Creed Shadows. Just got another one yesterday. Man, this world is big, so many things to discover, loving it!!
As I finished Yakuza 6, now it's time to dive in the Judgment story. Always heard great things about this one, so I wil pack many hours in it.
In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth I finished the intense chapter 12 (and got the pair I wanted all along). Now, chapter 13 awaits... Even knowing the story of the OG FFVII (completed that one 3 times back in the day), I'm very curious for what will happen here. We will see...
And, as always, if time allows it, I'm thinking about returning to Hades. Never saw the epilogue, maybe I can at least hunt for that. All this talking about Hades II brought me memories.
I'm wrapping the remaining content of the Valey of Memory DLC from Assassin's Creed Mirage, so I can return to the excelent Shadows. Also, more Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Getting close to the end, but there is many things to do yet... I will beat some stages in Blood Omen 2 as well. If time allows it, the final touches in Yakuza 6 or more The Last of Us Part 1.
I wish a happy New Year for all our gaming conrads here!! Push Square has the best gaming forum I ever seen on internet. Here for many more years!!
I'm not sure of the free time I will have this weekend, the plans are in flux. I was reading the SNK fandom wiki this week to pass the time, so I think I will give a spin on Metal Slug Anthology, long time I played the franchise. I'm doing the last things in Yakuza 6 before I jump to the next game, Judgement. Tomorrow, I will cheer for my soccer team, Corinthians, in the final game of the Cup of Brazil. We need that trophy.
@elvisfan1 I enjoy the trophy system because it gives a more tangible way to track our progress and achievements in the games. Also, we can come back and always look again to our collection, appreciate the effort and reminisce about the moments. And it is a good way to see how other players fare in games, their story with the medium and so on.
I can't deny the dopamine either, feels good to see the pop up when we get one of them haha I'm not a obsessive trophy hunter, I get the platinum when I can, if not, I move on. But yes, for all I said above, I preffer when games bring trophy support.
This game is amazing. I had only played Soul Blade in the PS1 at the time, and always enjoyed it. When I read about SC III, I ran to a local game store and got a copy. Played it a looooot!! One of the best fighting games ever made. I hope they bring the trophies, I'm tempted to replay it.
Luckily I waited for the PS5 version, so I never got the bugged experience. For me it was a amazing game. Did all the endings, pending only the DLC, that I will play someday.
I will have a extended weekend, with a municipal holiday, so I will play a lot more games than usual. I reached the Nibelhein region in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, so to keep exploring it. I will hunt more targets in Assassin's Creed Shadows. I got the hang of the game, now I'm feeling more efficient in clearing the huge amount of content.
In preparation for Death Stranding 2, I am playing Death Stranding: Director's Cut, to see the new content. I think I am close to wrap it up. And I will put some hours with The Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen 2 and Sword of The Sea. A very happy weekend for you all!!
Well, by the time I play Sky 1 and 2, I believe 3 will be ready. There are always so many games in my plate that I don't really worry with deadlines. Let them cook.
I agree. I think it's still too early to be talking about a PS6, specially with the inflated prices of gaming nowadays. There is so much to explore in this generation.
Enter The Matrix was the very first game I ever played on a PS2. Metal Gear Solid 2 was the second. A canonical movie tie-in, with extra scenes filmed for the project is a rarity to this day. And the game is cool. Flawed, but cool.
@gaston Play the FFXVI DLCs. They are set before the final mission (Origin), so, the ending remains the same. Both DLCs feature great combat, and the 2nd brings 2 new eikon movesets. They were instrumental for me to beat final fantasy mode. Rising Tides happens in a very beautiful locale and the story is very touching. I think you will enjoy them.
Finally reached Nibelheim in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Just imagining what I will find there. This game is so much bang for our buck. Also, continuing Assassin's Creed Shadows and it's the most chalenging of the RPG ones for me. But I'm prevailing.
I plan to advance on Blood Omen 2 and The Last of Us Part 1 as well. Let's move.
I really love this franchise. Rewatched the 2 movies recently and got very hyped for this game! I will wait for this update and get the complete version, and obviously watch Fire and Ash in a great cinema theater!!
I think it embodies the feel of Devil May Cry 3: Special Edition, where we finish the game as Dante, with his diverse gameplay, and them we play as Vergil, more powerful but with a limited moveset. I like more simple experiences like this one to complement the huge games we have today.
My reaction will be play it. I ws always curious about that franchise, I like that type of storytelling, that themes, so I will dive in when it comes do PS5.
