We’ve been lucky enough to get our hands on the Marathon Collector’s Edition (courtesy of Bungie) ahead of the game’s launch on PS5 on 5th March.

Bungie’s upcoming extraction shooter is easily one of the most stylish-looking games of 2026. Whether it's the design of the maps on Tau Ceti IV, or the ever-impressive cinematics, Marathon has got some visual flair about it.

Thankfully, that continues to be the case with the Collector’s Edition, which has got to be one of the prettiest we’ve ever seen.

You’re treated to premium hexagon packaging, complete with a sleeved cover and a lenticular poster. It’s adorned in the Marathon branding, and the printing of the runners in the game — synthetic prints controlled by uploaded consciousnesses.

We loved that taking one layer off basically leaves a whole other appreciation for the images and design. We don’t think we’ve ever taken our time opening one of these boxes quite as we did with this one.

The lenticular poster itself brings us back to the good old days of physical games. This particular writer still remembers trying to hold onto the lenticular sleeve of Batman: Arkham City when trading the game in at a local game shop (unsuccessfully).

But of course, the real juice is inside. We start with six art postcards, showcasing profiles for some of the runner types that will feature in the game, like the Thief, Assassin, and Destroyer.

Then we have two small collectables: a miniature silkworm, the Sekiguchi printing worms that make the runners in the lore, and an iron-on embroidered patch.

Lastly, we have a 1/6th-scale statue of the Thief, complete with LED Lights. We love the design of the runner, but it's the dead rival runner and gun under the water that really sells the whole thing.

We are a little disappointed that the collector's edition does not include a physical copy of the game, although we aren't too surprised. If ordered online, a download code will be emailed out, and there is also a codeless version of the Collector's Edition that comes in at a lower price if you're only interested in the statue and collectables.

While that will likely ruffle some feathers, Bungie certainly knows how to make a nice collector’s edition.
