Glad to see FC5 getting some appreciation in these comments. Easily the best one in my view, albeit with a few bits which force you to advance the story. Didn't like New Dawn so much, though it's a quirky and intriguing epilogue of sorts.
I got AC Odyssey in a recent sale, but good as it is, it came across as a lightweight Witcher 3. So I've decided to go back and play that (maybe finish it this time..).
So they're fishing and farming in full ceremonial armour? I really don't understand the love for Japanese kitsch and absurdity in games though. If I wasn't so lazy I'd defect to XBox.
Wouldn't a realistic simulation have up to four players occasionally pass one another on their designated route and give a little wave? Occasionally stop and talk through their windows, blocking both lanes of traffic? I'd buy that for a dollar.
@djlard That's 'The Amazing American Circus' I think. I'll probably get that, and/or the game above when they're on sale. I've been playing Slay the Spire like a desperate crackhead since buying it, though feel I've reached my limit (Ascension level 2, specifically..).
Glad to see Stranded Deep, as I've been mulling over that. I can pretend that the money I wasted on the woefully under-patched 'Unturned' went on this instead..
Not sure if it's the driving viewpoint, but this looks less like tiny cars racing in a room and more like full-size cars racing in a vast room-like environment to me.
Looks cute, though I find strategy/civ games too much like work after a day of admin work from home. And why are the robots growing crops and fishing, anyway?
Doesn't Gollum start life as an ordinary hobbit? Seems strange not to play through his descent into that creature (though maybe it's just not in the trailer).
I'm with Playstation on this. I don't think the Jurassic Park/World films would be half as popular if they revolved around the wholesale slaughter of dinosaurs. Not exactly 'life will find a way'.
Multiplayer only? Nope. I'll just wait for the real-life survival 'game' when society collapses under the strain of the plague and encroaching nationalism, thanks.
I too love this game, but am wary of recommending it as it's grossly addictive. I'm not sure how a board game could handle all the modifiers that can be in play at any point of the game, from Power cards, enemy debuffs, Curses, Relics, etc. It would be extremely tedious to manually calculate all that for every card played.
The trailer starts with making the game look like an intiguing puzzler in a unique setting (there should be more Honey I Shrunk the Kids settings in games); but ends up looking like a standard, hectic FPS.
Looks good, but every time I revisit this game I find the tiresome hunt for chemical elements with a limited inventory, coupled with having to complete story elements to unlock buildings, overshadows the impressive additions. Just not for me I think.
I don't mind constantly losing at Fall Guys, but can't think of a more depressing scenario than being repeatedly shot in PUBG by smug young gamers. I might possibly try SF5 though. In single-player, of course.
I find it's best to try and find a space in Slime Climb, rather than fight your way through the pack. Much less likely to fall into the slime.
I'm enjoying this game a surprising amount (usually prefer dark, zombie games). I'm a bit unsure about the 'grab' mechanic though, as it allows some bullying. As a middle-aged man, I can't abide being bullied by kids on the internet!
I'm using the Oxenfree theme again, although the game isn't that replayable. The disturbing soundtrack makes me get on and play a game so as not to listen to it.
Am trying to resist buying new games, despite the money I'm saving from all the sodding pubs being closed. Dusted off Brut@l and Portal Knights from my library, and they're both amusing me (great graphics, both).
I loved this on the PS3, and remember being quite blown away with the slick graphics and gameplay in that gloriously OTT tutorial action sequence. After the global misery of this year, I could do with something fun like this. Though I'm still tight enough to wait 'til it drops to £20.
I excitedly bought it before Xmas, but found it felt a bit linear compared to the (admittedly flawed) Fallout 4. I will go back to it though, I'm sure.
Not that I've tried Sims 4 yet, but I was hoping to see their DLC here, given they're retailing for £16 apiece. With any luck I'll dislike the game, making this moot.
@Bliquid - I did exactly the same; never felt much connection with the Witcher game (though appreciated the world-building), but after watching the series, reinstalled the game and bought the DLC. I do think the game's Geralt looks a touch.. ugly, now though, if I'm honest.
@SinisterPledge - do let us know if they've got the monsters' skin tones correct. We've got Strigas, Goblins, Griffins, etc. How about Trolls? I assume they should be thin-skinned and lily-white?
A scary single-player DLC could be superb. The weather effects, so dramatic and beautiful in the main game, could be terrifying if turned to the dark side.

Probably a good time to get Terraria; the Journey's End update is finally on its way.

As a British website, shouldn't it be 'Heath Robinson', rather than 'Rube Goldberg', contraptions?

Re: Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Dry Twice Comes to PS4 Next Month
PushSquare may award this a high score when they review, but I fear with all the double entendres, they'll have no choice but to give it one.

Serenity now!

Re: Resident Evil Village Still Looks Stunning on PS4 Pro
It looks great; though I think guns being fired in a claustrophobic cellar would sound quite different. Deafeningly loud for one thing.
Re: The Latest Returnal Trailer Is One of Its Best Yet
@velio84 Tentacles and staircases everywhere!
Re: PS Store Spring Sale Goes Live with 500 PS5, PS4 Deals
Kerbal Space Program is tempting at £8; but does anyone know if the terrible performance was ever fixed? Maybe the PS4 simply can't handle it.

Re: Nine Free PS4 Games Are Available to Download Now
Looking forward to 'Enter the Gungeon'. That stupid punning name has put me off buying it for years.

Re: Pirate RPG King of Seas Will Scrub the Deck Until May
Quite a lot of glowing graphical crap for a period piece.
Re: Build Up a Deck of Cards and an Entertainment Empire in The Amazing American Circus on PS5, PS4
Looks good, and I like Slay the Spire and Darket Dungeon (which the art vaguely reminds me of). Bit puzzled by the monsters in the audience though.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 361
Jurassic World Evolution; seems to have been worth a tenner in the sale.
Re: Cult Strategy Comeback Spacebase Startopia Sets Coordinates for PS5, PS4
I hope this is set in the same universe as Portal, otherwise that VAL seems a bit of a rip-off.

Re: Publisher of Poor XIII Remake Seems to Miss the Point with Apology Post
Much as I hate the remake's new, worse, art-style you can't expect the developer to apologise for it. It's not just a bug that can be fixed.
Re: The XIII PS4 Remake Looks Like a Massive Disaster
I liked the original, with its cool and quirky artwork, but am not going to buy this. It looks painfully awful.
Re: PlayStation Store Halloween Sale Has Some Spooktastic PS4 Deals
Nothing for me this time, but I must recommend Darkest Dungeon again. It's great, especially at that price.

Re: Minecraft Will Become the GOAT Next Summer with Goats
@ellsworth004 Yep, though I wish they'd hurry up with Journey's End for PS4 - I've put off playing it again since they announced that.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? - Issue 344
Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate (bargain for £3-odd at the moment), Darkest Dungeons. But really just waiting for Terraria Journey's End on PS4..

I think that Shadow Tactics game must be worthwhile for under a tenner.
