The backpack looks good for a laugh, but not very capacious; similarly, I always found the games be great fun at first, but actually extremely shallow.

I've had Wipeout for ages; those new tracks in particular are mighty impressive. But I didn't have the lightning reflexes to play it well on the PS1, and certainly don't two decades later..

I have a one-year-old son, and few evenings without responsibility - so the pub often wins out over PS4, despite being vastly the more expensive option..

Can you switch the music off, keeping the SFX volume? Those initially charming tunes in the first game drove me to despair by the time I reached the final chapter. I also found the number of blueprints meant that building creativity seemed a bit discouraged..

I'm quite tempted by Kerbal Space Program for £9; but does anyone know if got fixed/patched after release? It got a pretty terrible review on here, based on performance..

Maybe this will free up Chucklefish to finally finish the console port of Starbound. Jesus.

The racing game looks fun, and given I haven't played a football game since Sensible Soccer on the Amiga, I might try this (though I fear it's likely too big for me to want to free up space for..).

The graphics were very impressive I seem to remember, albeit through rose-tinted spectacles. A welcome blast from the past, though I'd only spend a tenner or so on it I think.

Sounds like a nice game, though too Stardew Valley for my tastes.

I think you mean 'ravaged' rather than 'ravished' in the first paragraph, by the way. Unless the apocalypse was especially seductive.

I do like the humour, graphics and game play of the first two; but the endless number of guns just ended up annoying me. I can't suspend my disbelief in a world where high tech weapons are so prolific as to be disposable. And apparently there are even more guns in the next game. Not for me.

It's testament to RDR2's otherwise immense quality that the crazily prescriptive mission rules didn't ruin it.

I'm happy; I've been very tempted by Conan and his infamous dangling genitalia for ages, so am glad I didn't buy it (it was almost getting cheap enough).

I do like Elite, but like others feel I'd have to take it on as part-time job, almost, to really get into it.

@Deljo - They mention in the review and at the end that the trip to Munich was paid for. How transparent were you hoping for?

I may buy it at some point, but only if there's an option to turn off the background music this time. That severely shortened my enjoyment of the first game.

I would have preferred if Chucklefish had got round to releasing Starbound for the PS4 first. Harrumph.

Well, as a relatively old, clueless duffer, I didn't know how to do this - so you at least have my thanks, PushSquare.

I am taking the single-player campaign so preposterously slowly, that I doubt I'll play this soon for fear of spoilers. By then, I might actually be good at shooting (far too reliant on Dead-Eye, currently).

I succeeded at a job interview yesterday so bought the Special Edition as a reward last night; but it's taking 29 hours to install. So Saturday morning I can try the thing..

@Ron22 I've been wondering the exact same. I'm too tight-fisted to pay 50% extra for story content I'll get anyway just by being patient.

I'm fine with hunting/fishing, just as long as you don't have to do it all the time to keep your outlaw camp alive. I enjoyed Fallout 4's settlements; bur the settlers completely lacked self-sufficiency. I don't want the outlaws being similarly high-maintenance, lazy and ungrateful..

I love Survival modes personally, and this needn't make the game unlike a Sergio Leone film, where mundane tasks like eating and bathing are often featured - adds to the grittiness in my opinion.

I found the 1st person view in GTA5 really immersive and exciting, particularly when being chased on foot by the coppers. But equally, I found it very much harder to actually play, particularly in driving and shoot-outs. I suppose that will make RDD2 last longer for me of course..

@ToniK Yes; I have both games, and both are off-putting in different ways. I didn't much like that NMS seems to revolve around increasing one''s inventories so much.

I'd likely buy another game from the Oxenfree producers; that game had such a good 'soundscape' I wasn't too bothered by its other deficits.

It sounds uncannily like the settlement-building and Survival mode in Fallout 4, which I've largely enjoyed, so I might investigate this at some point.
