Re: Sony Exploring Ways to Store PS5 Games on External SSD

andreoni79

@LiamCroft Can you guys at PushSquare explain us how the storage system works in details? A single file for every game?
With a PS4 when an update is released we are forced to download the whole packet (game fixes + multiplayer + dlc) even if we don't care for online gaming or dlc. A big waste of GB both for capped internet and storage.

Re: PS5 Doesn't Support Save Transfers via USB

andreoni79

@God_of_Nowt I rarely back up saves to USB pendrive especially since I forget to do it unless the HDD clicks, but if my HDD dies today I'd lose progress about the games played in the last 2/3 months, not all my saves of the last 5 years!

Re: PS5 Review - The Future of PlayStation

So "it’s impossible to copy PS5 games across to an external HDD for storage purposes, meaning that you’ll have to either re-download or re-install any next-gen titles that you delete". πŸ’©
Any chance they'll unlock such an option via firmware updates? 🀬

Re: Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Requires 133GB of Free Space on PS5

andreoni79

@thefourfoldroot I go online only to download patches or when a game like Monster Hunter World offers some extras even to those who don't have PS+. I used to do that for new costumes, weapons or events but if I try to do that now I'm forced to download a +30 GB update because of the DLC I haven't bought... πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@thefourfoldroot My 1080p TV still works fine and since I don't have money to waste on a new 4K TV I just would like to ignore those "superior" features. And publishers think it's fine to release half baked games since they can patch them later; as a customer I think I should be able to decide what to put in my tiny SSD.

Re: Cyberpunk 2077 Dev 'Not Comfortable, but Confident' in December Release Date

@optic_efun11 Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe I have a sixth sense for those games that turn out to be very good after few months and some updates. The Witcher 3, Dying Light, Alien Isolation and many other games had bugs and glitches that made the Day One experience a bit annoying, but after a while they reached perfection.
Reading a book or watching a movie for the first time is way more engaging than doing it a second time; the same is for videogames, IMO. This is why I think that waiting is best thing to do when we talk about these kind of experience.

Re: Plex Will Be Available on PS5 At Launch

andreoni79

Let's hope in an option to keep all the non-gaming crap away from my next console and it's tiny SSD.
I'd love to turn it on for the very first time getting something like "Do you want to uninstall all the non-gaming apps and prevent any future download of non-gaming apps?"

Re: Amnesia: Rebirth - The SOMA Team Has Its First Dud

andreoni79

Suspension of disbelief is required by every game, but it becomes more important if the game put us in the shoes of a realistic character in a realistic setting. If the gameplay involves realistic actions, then things become even more complicated.
It's ironic to think that we older gamers started playing videogames as a bunch of pixels moving in a flat world and that was great, but now that the worlds are photorealistics we often feel like something is wrong.

Re: Poll: How Often Will You Use PS5 Backwards Compatibility?

andreoni79

I still have to play Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone and FF VII remake and I'm happy I'll do that with a PS5.
And I'd like to play again games like Deus Ex MD, Nier Automata and Kingdom Come Deliverance since they struggled on my old PS4.
And I'll do another run with Bloodborne, the three Dark Souls, Alien Isolation andTLOU2: perfect games that will be even more perfect with some extra power.
But I'll play Demon Souls first!

Re: Western Digital Reveals First PS5 Compatible SSD

andreoni79

@TheRedComet I totally agree, still I think Sony should give players the chance of installing files in a smarter way otherwise we will have a lot of +100GB games...
Is it so difficult to create seperate install files? (Single player/Multiplayer/4K textures pack)

Re: PS4 Games Will Take Advantage of PS5's New User Experience Features

andreoni79

Quick Resume is just another excuse to not properly invest time and attention to a single game, so we can later complain about its messy control scheme or its convoluted story...
Multitasking is good for robots and capitalism but we are mere humans: let's focus on one single thing and get it right in the old good humanist way!

Re: Western Digital Reveals First PS5 Compatible SSD

@LiamCroft I realize SSD is an expensive technology, but I also realize I don't give a damn about multiplayer and 4K textures so I'd like to install only what I need.
If I wanna listen to the last Mr. X album, I just buy and donwload the mp3 files; if Mr. X oblige me to pay and download also the karaoke and videos files I'd probably look for something else.
