@NEStalgia Recently I downloaded Project Manager 2020 since it was free on PC. Ten minutes later I unistalled it since I realized that playing it meant reading tons of emails, organizing events, arguing with sponsors etc. What? Do I have to work even in my free time?!? No way! π
When I was a kid I loved this kind of games. Then I became an adult, spending too many hours in front of a Pc or a in a warehouse because of my jobs, so I started hating them. The only fun would be trying to make every single visitor sick to death.
@LiamCroft Can you guys at PushSquare explain us how the storage system works in details? A single file for every game? With a PS4 when an update is released we are forced to download the whole packet (game fixes + multiplayer + dlc) even if we don't care for online gaming or dlc. A big waste of GB both for capped internet and storage.
Some Italian retailers say on their sites that there will be the chance to order PS5 only on november 19th. I may try to get one to play the PS4 games on my backlog...
@God_of_Nowt I rarely back up saves to USB pendrive especially since I forget to do it unless the HDD clicks, but if my HDD dies today I'd lose progress about the games played in the last 2/3 months, not all my saves of the last 5 years!
If you are unlucky you can get a faulty SSD; you send it back in warranty, you get a formatted SSD, your saves are gone just because you don't have PS+. Nice.
@evan23 That's what I always planned to do and I think it's a reasonable compromise. But did Sony officially confirmed it's doable? It seems so according many sites but I can't find any official source about that.
Some users here should realize that not everybody has unlimited and super fast internet. The world is quite big and having a job is quite a blessing in these times. Publishers cut their costs thanks to digital, while customers pay always more for internet and data storage.
@thefourfoldroot I go online only to download patches or when a game like Monster Hunter World offers some extras even to those who don't have PS+. I used to do that for new costumes, weapons or events but if I try to do that now I'm forced to download a +30 GB update because of the DLC I haven't bought... π€·ββοΈ
@thefourfoldroot I play only offline, so this gen policy annoyed me with all the mandatory installations of multiplayer updates or DLC you haven't bought when all I need are just the main game patches. Hope they organize the whole thing better this time! π€
@thefourfoldroot My 1080p TV still works fine and since I don't have money to waste on a new 4K TV I just would like to ignore those "superior" features. And publishers think it's fine to release half baked games since they can patch them later; as a customer I think I should be able to decide what to put in my tiny SSD.
I have zero interest in this game; I'd just like to know if we will be obliged to install/download 4K textures for every single game out there or if there's a chance they'll be in an optional Pack.
@VonPit Once you have find the game you want click on π (not on the β€οΈ). Then go to Account > Discount Subscriptions. There you can filter and sort games by discount % or price.
@optic_efun11 Maybe I'm just lucky, or maybe I have a sixth sense for those games that turn out to be very good after few months and some updates. The Witcher 3, Dying Light, Alien Isolation and many other games had bugs and glitches that made the Day One experience a bit annoying, but after a while they reached perfection. Reading a book or watching a movie for the first time is way more engaging than doing it a second time; the same is for videogames, IMO. This is why I think that waiting is best thing to do when we talk about these kind of experience.
@optic_efun11 Gameplay wise and technically speaking TLOU2 was perfect even on Day One so any eventual disappointment was due to wrong expectations about the story and its unfolding and no delay could have solved that (non-existent) problem. With Cyberpunk 2077 it's clearly a matter of optimization for the current gen: better later than broken.
I got and "finished" the game with the Foundation Update. Then I restarted it once after the Abyss update and once after the ExoMech one, but other games distracted me. Maybe I'll do a second run on PS5 if they will ever stop to update it! π€£
Let's hope in an option to keep all the non-gaming crap away from my next console and it's tiny SSD. I'd love to turn it on for the very first time getting something like "Do you want to uninstall all the non-gaming apps and prevent any future download of non-gaming apps?"
I don't even understand the reasons it exists. It's like driving to a mall to buy a barrel of fuel instead of driving directly to a gas station that sells the same fuel at the same price.
I must create me a reminder for all the games I've ignored because my old OG PS4 is getting too old. FF VIIR, GoT, Days Gone, The Outer Worlds, SW Fallen Order...
Suspension of disbelief is required by every game, but it becomes more important if the game put us in the shoes of a realistic character in a realistic setting. If the gameplay involves realistic actions, then things become even more complicated. It's ironic to think that we older gamers started playing videogames as a bunch of pixels moving in a flat world and that was great, but now that the worlds are photorealistics we often feel like something is wrong.
"Reaction: PS5's User Experience Is Made for Modern Gamers" This because I always feel more and more like an old growler having zero interest on the social side of gaming.
@get2sammyb Having not upgraded my PS4, I will surely notice a bigger difference between my actual gaming experience and the one offered by a PS5 so I'm very attracted by BC and what it can offer. Those with a Pro maybe are less curious...
I still have to play Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone and FF VII remake and I'm happy I'll do that with a PS5.
And I'd like to play again games like Deus Ex MD, Nier Automata and Kingdom Come Deliverance since they struggled on my old PS4.
And I'll do another run with Bloodborne, the three Dark Souls, Alien Isolation andTLOU2: perfect games that will be even more perfect with some extra power.
But I'll play Demon Souls first!
@AndyKazama You could activate the Prime 1 month free trial or ask a friend who has Prime to buy them for you! Give him/her the money and ypur address and it's done.
Bloodborne does not need any patch; people who do not like it need a treatment.
By the way, I would pay again to play it at 60 fps being the most intense game I have ever played.
Praise the moon. https://youtu.be/NHIkUzmNmc0
@TheRedComet I totally agree, still I think Sony should give players the chance of installing files in a smarter way otherwise we will have a lot of +100GB games... Is it so difficult to create seperate install files? (Single player/Multiplayer/4K textures pack)
Quick Resume is just another excuse to not properly invest time and attention to a single game, so we can later complain about its messy control scheme or its convoluted story... Multitasking is good for robots and capitalism but we are mere humans: let's focus on one single thing and get it right in the old good humanist way! π€ͺ
@LiamCroft I realize SSD is an expensive technology, but I also realize I don't give a damn about multiplayer and 4K textures so I'd like to install only what I need. If I wanna listen to the last Mr. X album, I just buy and donwload the mp3 files; if Mr. X oblige me to pay and download also the karaoke and videos files I'd probably look for something else.

I had a lot of fun with my 360 and the lack of a PS3 didn't kill me.
