Well, one game in the past 12 months that I had even a remote interest in isnt amazing but at the same time, Helldivers is bloody epic, and well worth playing for those that havent.
Regarding this, Ive only ever heard of Broforce and have literally zero interest in it.
Its likely this mode gets a lot of players because its something to do besides the survival. Its a break from that gameplay. Very different from being the ONLY gamemode…
"Were not doing that". Knowing Activision, this leak was no doubt their saving grace, and they were going to do ammo Microtransactions but given the multitude of hate they straight up panned it 😂
@Neolit sadly thats not true for the UK, at least not England, but your point has merit.
Im not really affected by this event anyway, I pay yearly and I understand mass networks have hiccups. Also, in comparison to the time I pay for, one day is of little use, Id rather they just give it someone else.
@sub12 I was fairly thourough and I agree it was around 80 or so hours. Thats not to say it felt that long. The whole Kaer Morhen part seemed to go far too quickly.
@Splints That statement about GwG isnt even remotely true. Microsoft have been charging for Live as a service, a service that is still superior as far as its internal network and stability are concerned. Games with Gold is a separate entity entirely.
Theyre giving away games? I jest. There big releases Im yet to play. Got Rainbow 6 today, amd will get Just Cause 3 on boxing day. Honestly, I expect little more than a selection of "Indy" titles that look exactly the same.
Nah, Im good. Heres to hoping for a cheeky little actioner like DmC (not neccesarily DmC before the "youre entitled" brigade turn up) in next months lot.
Its that value accross all 3, but Id wager its SIGNIFICANTLY lower if you only own a PS4. And Im assuming thats taken as a figure based on PSN purchases alone, which is understandable.
Im not saying its not worth it, I have had next to no interest in the games offered on 4 for almost two years, but the extra money off items and all that jazz have made up for it for me.
@Neolit that was very well put. I often feel that some, not all, of the people who get on their high horse about the selection being "amazing", forget that not everyone owns every platform and therefor doesnt get the same benefits as they do.
I have personally been completely uninterested in the games list INCLUDING First Light, but the mad sales and whatnot, coupled with the fact I play online alot and came accross from Xbox 360, have made it worth the cost.
As a side note, I only got a PS3 when TLoU came out so I only saw the tail end of Plus for 3.
As I only own a 4, this year has been bland for me on the game front.
However that being said, I have two accounts I use for different things, and I only need one sub to play them both on line, and I have gotten some discounts on games and stuff that Ive bought so Id say yes. For me although the games have pretty much all been things I have absolutely zero interest in whatsoever, the other areas I have benefitted from have made it worth the money.
Well thats likely to be one IGC spot taken in the future.
Im confused as to what the "modern take" is though, as it looks like classic adventure game, but I dont know is all.
Personally Im completely uninterested in these throwback types now, but Im sure some folk will love it.
Nothing Id wrote home about. Or play for that matter. TWD will appeal to most at least. Im not sure what else to say. Enjoy those that like em, dont play those that dont.
Black Flag, Killzone, Tomb Raider, Sniper Elite, Knack, CoD Ghosts, Last of Us, Diablo, UFC, Infamous, Need for Speed. Thats 11 games that are over a year old. The catalogue is more than big enough, to throw any of those in every couple of months. Im not saying they should but the, "it hasnt got enough games yet" argument is wafer thin at best now.
Played the first episode and half the second episode of season 1 of TWD, and much like the TV show it was a yawnfest. Magicka was not my thang, so Ill skip number 2 thanks. Still, this may not be true, and regardless the Telltale games are pretty popular so some folk should like this month.
@get2sammyb I know, Im just saying as an example.
I meant it as this doesnt bore me or whatever anymore than any of the other often mundane practices in the games industry.
Not trying to start an argument.
I dont personally find this any more frustrating or overused as I find "Indy" titles that copy the same formulaic approach to side scrollers. But it is always nice to see games take risks, try new things and be bold with it. I much prefer a good story with many unique elements than any "tried and tested" series.
@themcnoisy if youve ever watched the show with Cumberbatch, youll see its similarly designed. You dont have the tools of a CSI but you do have Sherlocks mad clever brain!
As a member of the Reaper Lords MC on GTA, I was hoping for some biker updates, as theres literally 4 cruisers etc. Seems the community as a whole is wanting it too. However, that 4th property is a very welcome addition.
@ShogunRok Really?
Ive only just broke 10k for the first time, and had the game since launch.
What with upgrading armour and weapons, crafting new armour and weapons etc.
Dismantling items for said crafting also costs you with no return.
And even those upgrades took a long time to get the cash for.
I actually think this is a crap thing to do. To enjoy Hearts of Stone fully youll need to upgrade the Runewright, which costs an insanely high amount of gold. If you recieved a modest sum for your work in game, which you dont, no one would need to use those tricks to begin with. I think on average you earn 400-600 gold per quest, so thats 20 at least, without including repair costs, armour or sword crafting costs etc. This is essentially punishing you for killing animals placed in the game and using a method which actually DOES NOT require anything other than game mechanics.
I agree its one of the best titles this year. The focus on exploration, which turned out to be increedibly fun and well designed was excellent. Cant wait!
@SteveButler2210 as I only have a PS4, for me its limited to what I get.
SMB I tried regarless of the fact I didnt like its look and as I thought, I did not enjoy it. Broken Age does nothing for me at all, point and click isnt my thing.
Its more the genres and similarites with many indies offered at the moment, I think the last time I saw an action hack n slash was Strider, which I loved, and cant remember the last non sidescrolling or retro stylised indie offered. I play online alot and the discounts kerp me on plus, I just got Tropico, which is brilliant!
I hold out hopes for more DMC style games, or something like Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter perhaps, maybe even a Risk style game?
@kyleforrester87 See, I totally agree with the Triple A thing, Im the same, I buy the big games I like the look of, and leave those I dont, as I will flst out not enjoy it.
Now with that said, there is very little difference with many of the Indies that are being offered, they all follow a similar format, art style etc etc. And certainly from a personal standpoint this is the problem. For example, I dont like those rogue likes, have never liked them, and every one Ive trief Ive hated. Yet they still offer the exact same formula, with few exceptions. Id rather see something completely different entirely, but there are very few of those in the Indie scene.
@shafedog247 All I would say is thats not alot of new gameplay for the price they are asking, considering all the prerequisites to even play TTK.
Its the same reason I personally dont buy into certain franchises, lack of content for the price.
That being said I havent played TTK, and have no desire to do so, and this is not a reflection of the game itself, but of the, in my own opinion, poor practice by the publisher regarding what value for money you get in comparison to other similar games.
Again, this is my own view and opinion, and is the reason I wont be returning.
@TheMightyPunram Alot if it boils down to the way its priced. I do not honestlt believe the content warrents the cost, considering for only a tenner more you can get a game like The Witcher 3, which has a hell of a lot more content. If you enjoy it though, more power to you, at least theyre finally listening!
@kyleforrester87 that was just an example. To be honest the whole Activision thing has always made me dubious anyway, and its likely more that than anything.
@kyleforrester87 In context? He made a public apology regarding it. He may be as funny and sarcastic as ever, but to make such a bold statement in a public arena is a very bad idea. That said, to me this applies to anyonenot just that Smith guy.
Between that and a terribly overpriced, in terms of content, buisness model Im out personally.
No, and it never will. And my reason isnt the game itself, which is fun and Im sure TTK added a few nice additions. My reason, is Bungie/Activisions attitude towards it. For example: "If you saw the emotes youd throw money at the screen", interesting, as I saw them and didnt buy, go figure. The pricing system is an absolute joke, in comparison to similar games and what you revieve for said cost.
Im interested to see if its a bit more mixed, without the same old weve being seeing these last few months. Maybe some nice action slashers or something like Risk. I doubt it but always remain hopefull.

Its likely this mode gets a lot of players because its something to do besides the survival.
Its a break from that gameplay.
Very different from being the ONLY gamemode…
Re: Your Full February PlayStation Plus Lineup Is Strong
Well, Helldivers will be getting a download for sure!
First time in a long while something has interested me, and Helldivers looks great!
Re: Activision Denies Ammo Microtransactions in Destiny
"Were not doing that".
Knowing Activision, this leak was no doubt their saving grace, and they were going to do ammo Microtransactions but given the multitude of hate they straight up panned it 😂
Re: Talking Point: What February PlayStation Plus Freebies Do You Want?
Id like to see any DMC other than two.
Thats my personal preference but Im happy to not download whatever they actually put on there.

Re: Free PlayStation Plus Extension Details to Roll Out This Week
@Tasuki exactly they shouldnt.
The fact they do is a great gesture.
If people expect a network service to work flawlessly and indefinitely then they are oblivious to real life.
Re: Free PlayStation Plus Extension Details to Roll Out This Week
Bloodborne: The Old Hunters was played during this outage.
In all honesty, because I was playing it, I didnt know it was even down until half way through a boss fight and the co op guy got dc'd.
Re: Destiny's Nightfall Strike Is a Never-Ending Nightmare Right Now
This comes as a surprise.
What with year one being absolutely perfect with great design decisions and so on…

Re: January's PS4 PlayStation Plus Games Revealed
Yawn.
Wait, Sony are giving away games?
Re: January's PlayStation Plus Freebies Will Be Revealed Next Week
@adf86 thats not a bad shout.
Id definitely like to see some ps classics too.

Re: Telltale Games' Batman Game Steps Out of the Shadows
I cant think of anything cooler than a Batman "game" where you get to watch Batman do stuff with next to no control over how to approach a situation!
The worst thing about the Arkham series was the fact you had to actually BE Batman, and lets face it, who wants that?
Re: Download Your December PlayStation Plus Games Now
Nah, Im good.
Heres to hoping for a cheeky little actioner like DmC (not neccesarily DmC before the "youre entitled" brigade turn up) in next months lot.
Re: Review: Super Star Wars (PS4)
I would absolutely love for Rogue Leader to come to this generation!
Absolute madterclass in space combat!

@themcnoisy thats a good shout.
A couple of free rentals on Now or some PS1 classic like Silent Hill or MGS!
Re: October PlayStation Plus Games to Be Revealed Very Soon
Id like to see Risk or something similar.
Anything NOT sidescrolling for a change would be nice too.
Re: Konami: Metal Gear Solid Can Continue without Kojima
MGR was an imitation Metal Gear game.
It was Devil May Cry with a new coat of paint and a half hearted story.
To compare it to the masterpieces that are the likes of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, MGS4 etc is just ludicrous.
