Re: Download All of Battlefield 4's Expansions Free on PS4

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

Seems a bit of a slap in the face for all those that paid for premium or individually bought each dlc.
Given that its a good £50 for them.
And I would argue those that haven't purchased any of the DLCs at all, aren't great supporters of the game itself given that they didn't contribute further than the base game.
And you can bet your bottom dollar those that did support it further, likely wont get anything for that.

That being said, its a great way of getting people on your side to promote a new game.

Re: Gamers Demanding a No Man's Sky Refund Aren't Happy with Sony

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

From a personal point of view, crashes happen and so on and that sucks but is the nature of software.

What is a problem though is routine crashes ON LAUNCH.
I bought Digital, I have at least 3 crashes every single time I play and ALWAYS have a crash at launch, where youre flying through space at the title.
Every single time.

Now to me that would be "unfit for purpose".
Temporary fixes such as "restart it" do not solve this.
Imagine if this happened in other areas of life, "oh your phone crashes on startup the first time you try it every time? Its ok just restart."
Not acceptable, and neither should it be here.

Re: Round Up: Batman PS4 Reviews Reveal the Telltale Title We Deserve

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

I wanted to play this because Im a DC fan and an avid Batman reader.
Unfortunately it looks identical to every telltale game ever made, which is a huge negative for me.
I didnt enjoy the People Arguing and Sometimes Zombies Show Up, but Im not a fan of the show so I tried Wolf Among Us, but it seemed to play exactly the same as TWD.
The story sounded so good as well.
Ill probably just wait until theres a playthrough on youtube and watch it as a story.

Re: Destiny's Rise of Iron Is a $30 Expansion

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@BAMozzy "They cant just lock out missions", yes they can, many games do it.
The good old fashioned "You cannot enter x, because you dont have Y installed" for example.
They could quite easily just add the reef into Rise of Iron, as a player hub, but simply block you from all the previous missions and "story" content.
If you miss relevant story arcs thats a by product, not a game breaker.
The only reason they dont is to force you into paying more money irrelevant of whether you wish to actually play that part of the dlc, no more no less.

Essentially this is the gist simplified: "I dont care about the story or what I miss, Im only interested in the new content and do not wish to pay fir something I wont nor want to play".

Re: Destiny's Rise of Iron Is a $30 Expansion

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@BAMozzy this just further reinforces my point.
Its unneccessary.
Theres no reason whatsoever, that they couldnt add the Reef as a playable area for example without House of Wolves, but lock you out from HoW specific content.
The area is already there, so theres no realistic reason why this cannot happen other than to make money.

Blood and Wine is most definitely an expansion, it adds a good 20+ hours of gameplay with an entirely new area to explore that wasnt already present.

If I dont want to play TDB but do want to play Rise of Iron, the expansion now costs £40 as Im required to buy it regardless.

Re: Destiny's Rise of Iron Is a $30 Expansion

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@BAMozzy You mean like Blood and Wine is an "expansion" but theres no requirement to own Hearts of Stone?
Or that Far Harbour is an expansion but theres no requirement to own Automatron?
I understand needing the base game, but I dont understand why I must own ALL the previous add ons to play this one, its unneccessary.

The Telltales example was one of preference, because Im sure you arent REQUIRED to own the other episodes to actually play any of them.

Re: Destiny's Rise of Iron Is a $30 Expansion

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

But is it just £25?
Or are you REQUIRED to own all other DLCs just to be able to play it?
I think that was the bigger issue, forced to buy things you didnt want in order to play something you did want, which was already at an absurdly high price.

Re: No Man's Sky Dev Received Death Threats Over Delay

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

"then maybe reconsider what you're doing with your life".
This had me in stitches because I thought the exact same thing when I saw the article title.
Game delayed? Send a death threat! Thats sure to make a dev work harder, and its a perfectly reasonable response…
Some folks need to grow the hell up.

Re: Talking Point: What's Gone Wrong with PlayStation Plus?

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

"Cant please everyone".
I think you absolutely can, but not all at once.

From my position it seems they are pleasing a certain percentage, whether it is the majority or not, and then not the other percentage.

I feel if they mixed it up more, different genres, and a more mixed bag and tried to please each part of the user base at different times it would improve things.

Re: Sony Revokes Free Fallout 4 Season Pass Purchases on PS4

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@JoeBlogs No, because its not being advertised at that price, its an error.

To give you an example, if a store is in the middle of a price change and one item has not yet had its price tag changed then it is still the new price regardless of what is on the box.

However since that cant happen online digitally, Im assuming the rules are made up as they go along 😂

Re: Soapbox: Why Do We Treat Gaming Like a Chore?

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

I have 1 platinum, for Second Son and thats it.
I have never been bothered enough to grind through every trophy in every game because a good percentage just arent fun to get.

Ive found that only playing games I have an initial interest in, and liked the idea of beforehand, I nevsr get a build up of games to play.
Also, Ill happily play 2-3 different games at a time, depending on my mood.
Ive never subscribed to the idea that you must play 1 game at a time.

Re: PS4 Fans Are So Mad at PlayStation Plus They're Making Parodies

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@SonyInfinity again proving my point.

But, yet again my main point is missed.
I do not think the service is not worth it as a whole, I agree the service, as a system for online play works fine, I havent stated otherwise or made any notion to the contrary.

I do not personally recieve 72 games a year as I only own a PS4, so that argument is redundant and moot.

I pay the same as you do yet I DO NOT recieve the same level of service as you do month on month as what is offered is not to my tastes, yet as stated, I still pay the same amount as you do.

As a result I find Im not getting the same satisfaction as others, which is the issue.
If you enjoy every game then great, but for many others who have varied tastes, are they not just as entitled to recieve something they actually do like? Be it AAA or otherwise?

And as a point of reference, 99% of ps plus owners are happy, per your last sentence? Doubtful and arbitrary.
Continue to enjoy the service, but dont assume others arent as equal as yourself, and dont assume that when someone has an issue with a service that their point of view is any less important than your own.
So go ahead and be part of the "99%" and enjoy it, I implore you, and am happy you are recieving a great service.

Re: PS4 Fans Are So Mad at PlayStation Plus They're Making Parodies

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@SonyInfinity Again, I do not care about whether a game is "triple a" or not.
Thats not even the issue for most people in my experience.
What IS the issue, and its something that irks me much, is if Sony are going to "give away" titles of any kind, there needs to be enough variety for EVERYONE who subscribes, not just a certain percentage.
If you only really like heavily story driven games for example, youd have had 2 maybe in the last 2 years, yet you are still paying the EXACT same amount of money as those that have a more varied taste, or enjoy playing the exact same style game every other month.
What also really irritates me is one is automatically accused EVERY SINGLE TIME of being entitled/whiner etc because they have issues with a service they have paid for, and EVERY person who makes ANY remark against it is assumed to be in the same catagory as those who simply state "da gamez iz crap".
Which is just not true.

To sum up, there needs to be more variety to reach out to all customers, and some people need to get their heads of of their arses and stop accusing and grouping those with a genuine grievance with those who are just trolls.

Re: PS4 Fans Are So Mad at PlayStation Plus They're Making Parodies

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@JLPick I disagree.
They cant make everyone happy sure, but there isnt nearly enough diversity with whats offered to even try and reach more people.
If you dont enjoy pixel art styles and only own a ps4 like myself for example, then 70-75% of the games offered are already off the table.
Couple with that the stigma attached to not enjoying that type of game also.
How someone is all of a sudden "not a real gamer" because they dont like every simgle game on Earth is beyond me.

As a final point not aimed at anyone in particular, if the "Indie" market doesnt have enough varience or diversity then why has that not been addressed?
Why is it not ok for a so called "AAA" to be like other games in its genre but its perfectly acceptable to make a million Metroid clones because its a small studio?

Re: Your PlayStation Plus Games for March Have Been Revealed

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@GlynCR I didnt like Grim Fandango first time around unfortunately.
And Ive never enjoyed a game I dont initially have interest in.
No doubt some people would complain still but Id wager less so.
As it stands, if you dont like a partical art style or gameplay type, you are severely limited in what you have offered.
My point is there is absolutely no reason for it not to be more varied.

Re: Your PlayStation Plus Games for March Have Been Revealed

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@BAMozzy these are my thoughts also.
Many of the games offered I havent been interested at the outset, and I never enjoy a game I have no initial interest in.

I have tried games from the IGC despite that, and have still found it to be true.
An example being Rocket League, I had no interest, tried it for around 2 hours and just did not enjoy it at all.
Same with that Grow Home game.
The problem with many small devs is that they release games so similar to others, and there isnt nearly enough diversity among them.
Broforce looks EXACTLY the same as Mercenary Kings, another game I tried and it was just a yawnfest!

Re: Your PlayStation Plus Games for March Have Been Revealed

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@ShogunRok you cant please everyone for sure.
But it appears theres no effort to mix the bag and appeal to everyone.
It could very easily be construed as "if you dont like "indies" then its tough", because people that dont enjoy them, quite literally get nothing.
It being free doesnt make it good or fun etc.

My personal issue is I do not enjoy side scrollers any more, at all.
There is a vast scope for what a developer can do regardless of size, just look at Ninja Theory, they are absolutely an indie studio, yet they came out with a fantastic DmC reboot.
And its those kind of games Id like to see on the IGC.

As a side note, this isnt me bashing "indies" before anyone decides to get on their high horse about it.

Re: Your PS4 PlayStation Plus Freebie for March Has Been Decided

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@Johnnycide I would wager a good proportion of votes was because it was the only game that some people had heard of.
And another chunk by people who had already played it on PC.

I personally didnt vote for any as they all just look tripe to me, and as I dont like the look of any of them to begin with, I wouldnt enjoy any of them.

I do find it interesting though that yet again, the voting was for two new/unheard pf games and a game that has already been out in the wild.
Why not 3 box fresh unheard of releases?

Re: Fallout 4's Season Pass Is About to Get Pricier on PS4

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@BodyW-outOrgans it depends.
As an example, I got the sp for Batman, and felt I got value for money with it.
The Witcher pass cost me like 20 quid and I feel they put £20 worth of content into the first DLC alone, so it is definitely well worth it but you dont need to neccessarily be a "die hard" fan.
Then on the flip side you have Destiny, which packed vastly less value into the two covered DLCs than the pass actually cost!

Re: Finally, Bungie Spills the Beans on What's in Store for Destiny

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@ShogunRok Im sure I read somewhere they have scrapped or are scrapping that idea of carrying over guardians.

Personally, I havent touched Destiny in a good 7 months, mainly because I feel extremely ripped off.
For a game that had so much promise, it just failed to deliver.
I am skeptical any of this will be any good but hope to be proven wrong.

Re: Vote for Your Free PS4 PlayStation Plus Game Now

ToOGoodOfAPlaya

@LieutenantFatman hmm, Ill look into it.
I already had an interest in Helldivers, and it turned out to be hilarious!
Especially the obvious dev troll of calling in reinforcements and it nigh on always splattering someone!

Edit: I already dont like the character models, not into that pixie sort of look.
But the gameplay looks pretty cool, so as long as it is, I can look past them.
