To be honest, as much as I love the series, I will likely not buy this. On the premise that i disagree with the practice. I often wont buy or play something if I think the dev is taking the piss, and in this case I do.
As far as their T&Cs are concerned they do not have to refund at all. And as a user of the PSN this chap would (read: should) have read the end user agreement prior to accepting. Regardless of whether or not you agree is moot, it doesnt change what is. However, I am certainly one to argue, that since his account was used fraudulantly, if only from a moral standpoint, the company should refund him in some way.
This month is disappoint. Most likely due to most websites playing the whole thing up. "Likely to get a big triple a release…" which we knew of course, was unlikely. Still got the Witcher though, so this mediocre month isnt such a great loss.
To be honest it never ruins the game for me. Oftentimes it makes me think, "oh thats cool, I cant wait to get to that part now!" I know many dont want that though, and I respect that.
@Gemuarto That literally made no sense at all. And you STILL have not yet specified anything, nor shown any proof. I must be bad at a game, as that is the definition of noob, because I cant see any glitches, irrespective of whether they have happened or not? Seriously, you cant make this kind of backwards, idiotic rubbish up!
@Gemuarto Really now, what are you, like 8? Still waiting on your specific glitches and such. The simple fact you are still yet to produce any specific information and are retorting with ill thought out and tired "insults", tells me, you are most likely just a troll with nothing of worth in your life besides insulting others on the internet.
Ive found even much harder enemies can be beaten with the right preparations, blade oils, bombs etc. And that makes me feel like if I get ruined, I must have missed a prep or made a mistake somewhere.
@Gemuarto I think you need to be nore specific, because Im far enough into the game to notice any real issues and Im yet to see a single fault sans minor frame rate drops.
@Sorrowful_North If you need some help with BSB, add me on PSN, ToOGoodOfAPlayer.
Set up a password and Ill jump right in and help.
Took me a while to beat solo, but its a battle of patience.
Keep that fool between the pillars, and dodge TOWARDS it, two hits and bail, heal/cure repeat.
Heres to hoping their post launch support on the console will be better than Payday 2. A whole year to update to nothing near the standard it should be, just to say there is nothing else coming.
Maybe some of the problem is that there are some folk that really enjoy these games, and thats fine, but alot of them preach the whole "its free so you MUST like it" attitude.
"It only costs X per month so thats value" is another peach. Value is entirely subjective to the individual and there is flat out not enough of a wide selection to cater for all, as has been evidenced by many posts here today and previously.
It being free is irrelavent. It doesnt become worth getting because its free, and it doesnt make it "value for money" if you are repeatedly getting very similar games each month that you flat out dont enjoy. For example, Basement Crawl is widely known to be trash, it got panned by nearly everyone, yet from alot of the mentality I see here often, if it was on plus, it would all of a sudden be "value for money". I would rather pay £50 for a game I know Ill really enjoy than a fiver for 3 I just dont enjoy.
@get2sammyb It has been that way for a short while. Whereas we have had the odd one out, most months see the same or similar game type, usually a side scroller. Some of these Ive never heard of and thats probably why people arent responding, theres not much build up, or enough of a mixed bag as a rule.
@SteveButler2210 Prepare to not play anything else for a while! Not only is Bloodborne a good length, its just such a satisfying game to play. Im certain youll love it!
The Unfinished Swan has always interested me and I never got it on PS3. Looking at the video, Ether One might be worth some time, nice little puzzler. Guacamelee… I gotta say, Id rather eat my own face.
I cant say Im shocked though, its pretty much what we all expect to see, Indies and side scrollers, but its nice to see something that ISNT side scrolling this time around as well. Makes a nice change.
@nathanSF it's weird because Activision have been doing this for years with hugely over priced content for their major rehash cash cow, but that never seems to be included in these debates.
Absolutely right. Devs should hand out hours of content that they make at a significant cost for free... Of course that is ridiculous, the dev teams wages don't decrease to 0 because the game is platinum, the vast majority of extra post launch content costs to make, much the same as a full release.
And to clarify before some spoon jumps on that, I'm not saying the actual cost is the same as a full release, but that it costs to make it, like it costs to develop the initial game. I agree that there are exceptions where this DLC is abnormally high priced, such as Evolve.
You don't want the DLC or season pass? Don't buy it, don't be "part of the problem". You are not forced to do so. If I buy the season pass, you don't then have to pay extra to enjoy the core game, you just pay for the post release content.
I pre order all the time.
Always get my games held for me because of it, so when big series sell out in the shops, mine is held behind the counter as nearly every time I buy its after release day due to my working hours, 17 hour days doesnt give me much room for maneuvre!
I dont see a problem personally, I dont care whether I get a certain weapon or character or not, and when I do its a bonus.
And I completely disagree that AAA doesnt sell out.
I have seen it plenty of times that my closest stores are out of stock on major releases, MW3 for example sold out in 24 hours, as did GTA V, Battlefield 3 and Pokemon x/y.
I have been to my local GAME and grabbed my copy of a game that sold out literally hours before, and walked out happy, whilst others have to wait.
But yeah, thats a stupid idea, shouldve not pre ordered and not got a copy instead…
@kaz8286 I get what youre saying but its going to happen. And stretching out your dev teams to make a game thats capable of running on old hardware limits the current generation unfortunately.
@Johnnycide Ive been running 2 dudes, a skill based and a strength based. My alt has become the main hahaha. Now Im to grips with the dodge system Im really seeing what is so good about this game!
My biggest reason for not playing it at present is they charged £20 for a "DLC" that had about £6 worth of content! Appalling show. Then throw in they are lockong people out of nightfalls because they didnt buy the new stuff.
The Raids need matchmaking and the idea that you are/were forced to play them to hit max light was just a stupid move considering you cant use anything like replay tokens to reset the loot lock meaning you have to wait a week before you can try again.
And no, having 3 dudes is not an answer its a work around that takes time. I will await the reveal of the story for HoW and am hoping its more than 5 minutes.
They always throw words like "ambitious" and "immersive" around, year on year, yet the game is ultimately EXACTLY the same. Though they do seem to have figured out that balance is more important than those ridiculous killstreaks. BUT, I enjoyed the MP in Black Ops 2, it had some really well thought out kit, amd the maps in Ghosts were a lot better than most, due to the size being much bigger. Thats my opinion though, I know Ghosts was apparantly crap, even though everyone bought it…
@MrBert They ported them but thats just not the same!
This is, and always will be, a defining moment in survival horror. Resident Evil and its remakes still remain at the top of the zombie game food chain!
@Bad-MuthaAdebisi Got in there before I could say just that!
Youll always get people that try to compare the two titles though, as theyre both FPS so they must be the same! Deus Ex will steal the show for me between the two, they just do the whole augmentation thing better than the rest.
@marston1983 There are some great boss battles to come! And I highly recommend beating some optionals, as they give you some of the most useful rewards.
All the shiny stuff but nothing about what matters, the length. 20 quid is steep for DLC and after their last DLC "story" they need to turn that up to 11. Also, it really annoyed me they lovcked out none buyers, making those whom couldnt afford the DLC unable to do weekly and nightfall strikes every other week.
@chris730920 Im with you there. The reason, generally, physical is higher is due to overhead costs of a store. The PSN is already paid for regardless of digital games, so a storefront is at minimum to no extra cost. So I always did wonder why the cost was so high in many cases.
@Splat Some day 1 is the same, some are in fact cheaper than retail, but most are dearer. Im like you though, Im a fan. I had Dying Light a month prior to UK release and paid the same as physical. I like to trade in though, so I generally only buy digital on games I really want.
@get2sammyb Thats cool. Its times when my son wakes up and Im in panic mode trying not to die in game but be as quick as possible! It does help to know before hand though, so Im not like "oh crap!"
@Galvatron I find if I die 30 times trying to beat a boss, when (and if) I ever do, I often don't feel satisfied, or that I've achieved anything, just a feeling of "well that was tedious" and I end up not playing the game again for a long while.
@Splat me too, especially as you couldn't opt out for some unknown reason.
@get2sammyb this might sound stupid but can you actually pause this game? Not being able to pause is an absolutely terrible idea to me, you know, as life happens often in the middle of a game?
ill be giving this a go, but I'm still a bit peeved I'm forced to play offline if I don't want a repeat of Dark Souls 1, in which I repeatedly got killed by d**kheads at the very start of the game after the tut. Still, like I said, will be trying this out.
@ShogunRok If it doesn't have matchmaking it wont be any better than Raids as far as time goes. Usually it's not the actual Raid but getting a 6 man team in, which isn't always easy.
I've sat for nearly two hours on more than one occasion to have a guy turn up, wait 20 mins and leave as we still need a 6th man.
On top of that, there's no "replay" currency, like every other MMO, so most folk who have done said Raid have no reason to redo it.
