We bloody love The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - and yes, we now include editor Sammy Barker in that statement - so we're really looking forward to Blood and Wine, Geralt's final adventure. According to an interview with developer CD Projekt Red from Eurogamer Italy, the expansion will last around 20 hours, and will tell a story that's completely separate from the main plot. So far, it's sounding like it'll adhere to the same template as the title's previous expansion, Hearts of Stone.
There is one key difference, however, in that Blood and Wine will take place in an entirely new location that's untouched by the war. Toussaint sounds like a place that's got it relatively easy compared to the hellholes found elsewhere in Wild Hunt, so we expect plenty of intrigue and crazy subplots.
The Polish studio believes that it has "achieved something even better than the main game", with the upcoming content, so we had better dust off that 10/10 review score just in case. The expansion is yet to get a confirmed launch date, but we can't see it being too far away.

Looking forward to playing the complete edition.
Awesome. Can't wait.
I'm no where near ready for it yet as not even started hearts of Stone gotta get to level 63 on new game plus to even have a chance! But it's gonna be so good!
"Our next expansion will suck!"
This still isn't dated? Guess the "Complete GOTY ed" is still a ways away then.
Woohoo
My paltry 2 hours in the Witcher is looking even more paltry.
@themcnoisy
The game really isn't 200 hours long unless you do every little thing,.....you can probably beat the main quests, most of the secondary quests, and the Hearts of Stone DLC in 80 -100 hours depending on how proficient you are.
They got their work cut out for them topping Hearts of Stone. I felt it is one of the best expansion/DLC I have ever played.

I miss Geralt! Game finished, books finished...I'll be happy to spend some more time with him. And Toussaint is an interesting location! Switzerland meets Tuscany / Provence...at least in my mind XD
I believe i am about to finish the last mission off the main game. Will start the first dlc sometime next week.
@brendon987
If your at Kaer Morhen, you still have a decent chunk left.
@sub12 I was fairly thourough and I agree it was around 80 or so hours.
Thats not to say it felt that long.
The whole Kaer Morhen part seemed to go far too quickly.

I'm about 4 hours into the main game and so far it has failed to gel with me. All the campaign has asked me to do is do favours for people for them to help me like finding goats! I trust it gets better than this and isn't just a fetch quest the whole game?
Realise it's early days though so I'll stick with it...
@Dodoo The game does well in its variety of quest types I think. Quite a few fun twists too for some of them. Fetching that fella's goat wasn't what I'd call exciting though, I have to agree. But Geralt's reaction to these sorts of things always makes me laugh. Voice acting and writing is top and makes it all worth it I think.
@LieutenantFatman Good to know, thanks!
After all I've read and heard from others I'm sure it does get better. I think after all the praise the game has received I may have hyped it up a bit much in my head and expected more! Who knows?!
@Dodoo Yeah, I honestly can't think of many more fetch quests, or at least quests similar to the goat one. I really feel like it's one of the only open world games that doesn't shove a load of filler in your face. Well worth sticking with if you think there's a chance you might still enjoy it.
I dont like revisiting a game I completed, weeks/months after I finished it, so I am holding off starting The Witcher 3 (though I own it and the season pass) until after this expansion is released, so I can get all the content at once.
@ShogunRok Cool. I'll definitely give it a good shot seeing as it took Sammy over 18 hours to get into it!
They are really spoiling us. 3 whole 10/10-worthy adventures in less than a year? Yes PLEASE.
I seriously can't wait for this. I picked up Wild Hunt on a whim after having never played any of the previous games, and it's quite possibly one of the best games I've ever played in my whole 20+ year career of gaming.
