Re: Days Gone Is Coming to PC

SweetSummerShunv

This game was really held back by PS4’s hardware so I’m looking forward to seeing how it’ll be like now that it can be run on some serious hardware.

I hope Gravity Rush 2 can get a PC port too.

Re: PS Now Competitor Google Stadia Ceases Internal Game Development

SweetSummerShunv

@suikoden Well it doesn't make sense from the money perspective either: there are many more PC gamers out there than 9th gen console owners and Stadia subscribers combined. Unless Google paid a huge stash to Sega, which I don't think is likely the case since it's a relatively small title and given Google's own business thinkings, I don't think the tradeoff is going to be good at all.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Production Efforts Boosted as PC Patches Wind Down

SweetSummerShunv

@Tas10 Well there's no need to rub it in like that either. I have a top tier rig with a 3090 inside it and I appreciate the fact that the console makers are at least making a decent effort this time, so at least the baseline will be alot higher this time even when considering the contemporaneous technologies elsewhere, and 60fps will once again hopefully be the norm rather than some golden standard.

@JAMes-BroWWWn I think you really don't understand how the PC gaming ecosystem is like. Our gaming tastes are extremely diverse and alot of us play more than just heavily marketed AAA games from the most popular genres, and the HZD sales figures are pretty good in this highly competitive and diverse ecosystem where saturation marketing does not give you an advantage. Instead of being bitter and salty about gamers in another ecosystem enjoying the same game, you should open up and celebrate this franchise making inroads into a highly competitive and demanding ecosystem's market. Conversely, many formerly skeptical PC gamers who dismissed this game as just another 'generic third person action adventure game' have now been completely won over by this game and have now openly celebrated it. Any genuine fan of this game should celebrate this outcome, instead of feeling being mistreated just because you aren't the only one being able to play this game anymore. Also for the sales charts, mind you that was the time when the PC port's technical issues were being reported on and that there was a price hike, and it affected its ensuing sales somewhat. It still picked up again afterwards.

Besides, I have played this game both on the PS4 Pro (I have bought a base PS4 beforehand too) and my PC, and Sony has gotten money from me twice, so it's only fair that they look after consumers like us as we've paid more. Many of us have PS4 consoles on the side and have played this game on the console beforehand, so I don't know what exactly is your problem.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Production Efforts Boosted as PC Patches Wind Down

@TheArt Actually the AI goes beyond the examples you've mentioned. Furthermore the CPU on the PS5 can be used to say power large scale battles between tribes and machines etc, something that would completely melt the PS4, hence adding a tactical/strategic dimension to the game. You can even go one step further by actually having procedurally generated machines, hence making HEPHAESTUS a living in-game AI, and this won't be possible on the PS4 either. I want the game to take the one extra step of being a generation/era-defining game by doing groundbreaking innovations as opposed to being a 'mere' GOTY contender. This isn't even about selling new consoles at this stage, but this is about raising the baseline. Essentially my point is that if you can only downport a game to the previous generation by gimping visuals alone, then you aren't making a game that's taking full advantage of the new hardware. Also, old consoles will still have their place for some time to come and they still have huge libraries for newcomers to enjoy.

Re: Horizon Forbidden West Production Efforts Boosted as PC Patches Wind Down

SweetSummerShunv

@TheArt Taking full advantage of the PS5 here would not just mean the visuals department but also making use of the much more powerful CPU and the much touted custom SSD, and that would require much more fundamental innovations in the sequel in areas like hard programming e.g. AI, as well as gameplay features that require entire game worlds being loaded on the fly. If the game is crossgen then the latter won't be possible - imagine Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart's rift portals being replaced by loading screens, that would ruin the whole experience.

Re: Poll: What Was the Best PS4 First-Party Exclusive of the Generation?

SweetSummerShunv

@Ralizah 2017 was honestly an overrated year for gaming imho, but Horizon Zero Dawn and Gravity Rush 2 weren't, so I'd definitely agree with you there. That year started off well but ended disastrously for me, and it was thanks to these two games that I was able to keep some sanity still. Imho the two games demonstrated alot of creativity in game world design and Gravity Rush 2 especially was unique gameplay wise. Like HZD however, I'd like to see a PC or at the very least, a PS5 port for Gravity Rush 2 as the game definitely needs some powerful hardware to smooth out the rough edges.

Re: Agent 47 Can Shoot with a Camera As Well As a Gun in Hitman 3

SweetSummerShunv

"Through the camera's viewfinder, you can spot tech you could tamper with, such as opening locked windows. You'll also be able to use it to gather more intel for your mission, which sounds pretty neat."

So basically Deus Ex and Cyberpunk? Don't get me wrong however as I'm not the type who insufferably goes around constantly look for similarities in gameplay between games, and I'm still very much looking forward to the game.

Re: Happy New Year from the Push Square Team

SweetSummerShunv

Happy 2021! Although 2020 was a bad year for obvious reasons, I also saw the better part of the better majority of the world’s population making the right decisions through both votes and actions on the streets. Gaming wise, both developers and publishers have worked hard against all odds to deliver great games, and I feel that we should all be thankful while still remaining vigilant against attempts to fleece our thinned wallets by taking advantage of such goodwill. That said, we can all look forward to a fulfilling 2021 both in and outside gaming.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Ships 3.4 Million Units in First Four Weeks

SweetSummerShunv

@Zaros Awesome. I had a PS3 with me when I was studying in England in the early-mid 2010s, but that’s probably in the storage of some household now. I’ll be rolling a brand new PSN ID when I get the PS5 and I’ll be sure to add you there and then. Right now I’m all but abandoning my previous IDs out of both personal and privacy reasons.

Re: Rumour: PS5 Ships 3.4 Million Units in First Four Weeks

SweetSummerShunv

@Zaros Great to hear and you should perhaps read some guides about PC building. As for Persona I'm only starting with 5R lol, I've only started core gaming in its earnest in the 8th generation so many franchises are new to me. As I only have limited times these days I usually just jump in on the latest instalments to make the fullest use of my hardware and recap the earlier lore through researching on Fandom Wiki sites.

And no need to apologize lol, this isn't social media, not that there's is one even if it is.

5950 Ryzen 9 5950x CPUs
6900 Radeon 6900XT GPUs*
10900 i9-10900k CPUs

Do it and I’ll subscribe to his channel.

Re: UK Sales Charts: Assassin's Creed Valhalla Grabs Christmas Number One, Cyberpunk 2077 Slips to Third

SweetSummerShunv

@fR_eeBritney Yes I'm still unable to escort the cow herder back to his hometown. That said, Cyberpunk 2077's buggy launch really makes contemporaneous UbiSoft releases look stellar in comparison, and a more polished entry like AC Valhalla looks almost godly, at least when comes to technical optimizations and QA, when compared to CDPR's overhyped game. Then again I'm playing both of these games on my enthusiast-tier rig, but I can only imagine the disparity to be many times more evident on consoles.

Re: CDPR Willing to Pay for Physical Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds Out of Its Own Pocket

SweetSummerShunv

The worst thing about this is because this came from a publisher and developer with great reputation, the standard AAA ones whom we've pushed so hard to start treating consumers with modica of respect again, will take a cue and start going back to their own older greedier ways. This launch made UbiSoft's AAA game launches look positively good, and I fear that the honeymoon period started from Jedi Fallen Order to Valhalla will soon come to an end after this.

Re: Best PS4 Strategy Games

SweetSummerShunv

I'm really looking forward to see how strategy games for the 9th gen can make use the DualSense controller's features. It can lead to something fairly groundbreaking.
