Great read! I feel in love with Bethesda over the same games, but just can't get myself to buy this one.
This article really helps me feel content with that decision.
Oblivion Remastered scratches that itch enough for me these days with the limited time I have. Still blows me away with the freedom it offered on a PS3, coming off of GameCube/PS2 games.
Hasn't been the same since the PS3/4 era team left. Layden, House, Tretton, Yoshida not only did a great job privately (I assume) but also did great with their public positions. Current PS management is a joke.
I'm a massive scardy cat. But I forced myself to play Grace in first person to get that first playthru experience.
I liked that there really weren't any cheap jumpscares in 9. And the few that were there, were very anticipated for anyone who's been playing RE games over the years.
They did get me on the office scene with Victor....I anticipated it when first going in there, seeing those blinds....totally forgot to slow down and think entering that room for the 5th time lol.
My argument of 'not having to download a game when I want to play it' is pretty much dead since most games need a patch or update when I put in an old disc anyway.
Barlog has been working on this directly after 2018 launched, right?
Seems like we're getting something significantly different, similar to the jump from Ascension to 2018, which would be great. The formula wasn't getting stale to me yet, and I wish Ragnarok was 2 games, but I'm happy to see some forward movement from the studio.
Kinda surprised to see the studio still working on the same franchise for 20 years though, while every other Sony studio changes over time. RIP Uncharted.
Honesty I hope Sony stops spending money on FF. I don't see it as a big system sellers as it was in the past. Doesn't really do a great job of bringing in new fans either.
It is a bit barebones on content. I get leaving things for content drops, but if there are modes with more players on a map.....I think they'd better drop that ASAP
Doubt they care about spoilers. But with a game selling this many copies at launch, getting a bigger cut going digital makes a lot of sense, even if it's only a month delay to physical.

Re: Fallout Co-Creator Thinks Gamers Are Letting Influencers Tell Them What to Think
I can't stand influencer culture.
One of the things I love about PushSquare is the (generally) more thoughtful comment section. Although I suspect most of us are 30+.

Re: 'Our Job Is to Charge Way, Way, Way Less of the Value': GTA 6 Unlikely to Cost $100+ on PS5
This is one of the few games that I think would be worth a higher price tag, even for single player alone.
The sheer amount of content and production values the game provides is worth it.
Re: Steelrising, GreedFall PS5 Dev Spiders Is Reportedly Soon to Close
Really enjoyed Greedfall, it was an extremely fun AA game.
Steelrising was a bit of a disappointment for me coming off of Greedfall.
And Greedfall 2's changes left me waiting to buy it.
Sad to see, they were so close to gold if they stuck with the Greedfall formula and refined it a bit.
Re: Resident Evil Requiem's New Mini Game Update Seemingly Imminent
Capcoms online/multiplayer output has been awful....but I really hope they do revisit coop/multiplayer mercinaries like 5 and 6 again.
Re: 'We're Going to Pull Funding if You Don't Fix This': Uncharted 4 Was Almost Cancelled on PS4 Because It 'Sucked'
Would be interesting to see the initial story, I'm sure gameplay/environments were mostly similar.
My biggest disappointment with 4 was the lack of a 'supernatural' enemy/element to the game. Those are some of the most fun parts of the genre.
I get the more realistic/grounded story they were telling, but c'mon, who WASNT expecting undead pirates?
Interesting that Sony threatened to pull funding to save brand damage, feels very different from what we see publicly from Sony today.
Re: Xbox Will 'Reevaluate' Its Game Exclusivity, Throwing Potential Doubt Over PS5 Ports
Their brand damage is done by this point.
I don't see the juggernauts like COD or Bethesda games staying Xbox exclusive. Maybe timed. They clearly makes way too much money on PS.
Honestly I hope they do go back to some exclusivity and make Sony step up their game.
Re: PS5's Fairgames Is a Free-to-Play Extraction Shooter, and It's Not Dead Yet
Sony late to the latest game trend hype yet again.
Will it do enough to pull players from ARC or Marathon? At least the F2P will inject players at the start
Re: Opinion: Sony's 'Playerbase' Is a Weak and Weird Way to Celebrate PS5 Fans
This is weird. When I saw the article earlier, I thought we could upload photos of ourselves to have us put in our OWN version of the game.
Like, I can be digitally created from a photo and be the driver of my GT car or an NPC in the game, for my local copy.
Not an actual NPC in the game, this is weird sweepstakes crap that is kinda dumb.
Re: 'I Was Convinced It Could Never Be Done': Dev Praises 'Breakthrough' in PS3 Emulation
@CutchuSlow Their website has instructions for dumping your games using a PS3 or a BluRay drive.
RPCS3 runs so well. It's amazing what they've been able to do the last few years.
Re: Uncharted Fans Think a Social Post Is Evidence of New PS5 Entry
Can't believe they put this series to rest.
We should have been getting smaller budget titles, focusing on characters in the larger universe like The Lost Legacy.
I still have hope of that old secret studio that was supposed to be making a new uncharted. But that was like what, 10 years ago at this point.
Re: PS Plus Essential Games for April 2026 Announced
Great month, really excited for LotF.
Already own TR, but still a fantastic addition compared to other months.
Re: New Lord of the Rings Game Comes from Tomb Raider Dev, It's Claimed
HA! Also came here to comment about The Third Age. As a kid, that was a HARD game. I remember it being really fun though.
Re: PS6 Could Cut Costs with Just 1TB Storage, But Games May Have Smaller File Sizes Than Before
I'd love to have an option to not download high res textures and let PSSR fill in some stuff. Game file size is insane and I don't care about 4k lol.
Re: PlayStation Studios' Mobile Push Seems Dead as Layoff Reports Continue
It's amazing to me that this mobile push has been going on for like 10+ years in various iterations and hasn't produced anything.
Re: PS5 FPS Alien Deathstorm Is Not to Be Confused with Ridley Scott Movie, Despite Its Dev
Would do terrible in today's market, but I'd love to see them revisit AvP. Really enjoyed the PS3 game even with all its flaws.
Re: 'They Cancelled The Last of Us Factions, So We're Building Our Version': Indie Dev Vows to Revive Iconic Multiplayer Mode
@TechaNinja I enjoyed it at launch, but it didn't get anywhere near the support that 2 or 3 got post launch.
Felt like they slapped it on and moved onto the next game instead of building on what 3 had done.
Re: 'They Cancelled The Last of Us Factions, So We're Building Our Version': Indie Dev Vows to Revive Iconic Multiplayer Mode
Uncharted 2 and 3 had fantastic multiplayer.
3 also had a very strong playerbase and a number of micro transactions, but still did very well.
How they managed to completely screw up U4 and TLOU2 multiplayer amazes me.
Re: 'It Wasn't a Live Service Game': Shuttered Sony Studio Teases Scrapped PS5 Project
Whatever this was, I feel pretty confident in saying it would have been worth more investment than they've put into Fairgame$$$.
Re: PlayStation's Disastrous First-Party Leadership Culminates in Yet Another Studio Closure
Embarrassing.

Re: If You're Playing Final Fantasy Games on PS5, There's a Good Chance You're Old
Capcom understands this. That's why the last 3 Resident Evil games weren't overtly called 7 8 and 9.
Re: Capcom Won't Reveal One of Resident Evil Requiem's Biggest Mysteries Any Time Soon
Re10? You mean RE14 with how this series cycles characters and drags out stories haha.
I love RE, but c'mon. Give me a proper Chris or Jill game. It's been ages. (I don't count the little Chris snips in 7 and 8).
I'd love for some more Revelations games to hit the side characters some more.
Re: Starfield Finally Lands on PS5 in April with New DLC and Huge Updates
'1000 Creation Credits'. So....mods aren't free on PS5??? What is this nonsense Bethesda.
I guess this is old news, but what a load of crap.
Re: Morrowind-Style RPG Dread Delusion Is Suddenly Less Than One Week Away on PS5
Looking forward to this. Hoping it's a reasonable price point. Only 9.99 on Steam so $20 or so on console seems fair.

Re: The Hype for Saros Grows with Its Shortest PS5 Gameplay Video Yet
Super pumped for this one!
Re: Round Up: GreedFall 2 PS5 Reviews Suggest a Rough Start for the RPG Sequel
I LOVED the first one, but was so disappointed that they changed up the combat system for 2.
Maybe it's better now but what I saw during EA really turned me off.
Re: Marathon PS5 User Reviews Remarkably Positive After String of Live Service Disasters
I'm convinced if this was made by anyone other than Bungie it would have gotten a lot more sustained hate.
Re: If You're Loving Resident Evil Requiem on PS5, There's a Good Chance You're Old
@TheSwitchBit How did 7 and 8 lose you??
Sure, 8 is more action focused (but has some good horror bits) but 7 was praised for being survival horror.
Re: If You're Loving Resident Evil Requiem on PS5, There's a Good Chance You're Old
The remasters have been doing a fantastic job at bringing in new players.
Also the move from numbers in the titles likely helps, doesn't make people feel that they need to play the 8 precious games to jump into Requiem.
I'm sure it'll always skew older, but I think they're doing a much better job than other legacy franchises.
Re: There's Some inFAMOUS: Second Son in Control Resonant, Says Remedy
I can't believe it's been 13 years since Second Son.
Re: Believe It or Not, Atomic Heart Is Still Getting DLC
Would love to see this as a PS Essential offering next month. Give a boost to the game and DLC.
Re: Physical Game Sales Hit All-Time Low in the US
I still buy physical.
My argument of 'not having to download a game when I want to play it' is pretty much dead since most games need a patch or update when I put in an old disc anyway.
Re: Bungie Confirms First Two Marathon Seasons, Both Adding Free Content
This is pretty typical of most extraction shooters, right?
Sounds bad to those of us not interested in this type of game. But I've heard positive reactions from friends that like extraction shooters.
Re: Opinion: If Sony's Doubling Down on Its Most Popular Franchises, Where's Uncharted?
Id be fine with leaving Nathan Drake in retirement and focusing on the broader world or new characters.
REALLY wish Sony would have scooped up the Tomb Raider IP and went that direction with treasure hunting games.
Re: Rumour: God of War Dev Working on 'A New Franchise Within the God of War Universe'

Re: Mobile App Addictions Are Quickly Becoming a Serious Threat to Video Games, Report Claims
The poll will be skewed due to the nature of this site, but I think we all see this as a problem.
The next generation of kids has it rough. Predatory practices coming at them from every angle for their time and money.
Re: A New Engine for The Elder Scrolls 6? Don't Be Ridiculous
It's the constant load screens between indoor and outdoor that kills me.
Let me be a stealthy character and lockpick a door or window and sneak into the house, seeing what the character inside is doing.
Re: Here's Why Shawn Layden Thinks Sony 'Can't Get Away' with Making PS6 Digital Only
I generally hold out for physical game releases (Waited for BG3 to go physical) but I see the writing on the wall and I'm growing OK with it.
Honestly PS+ has conditioned me for this future as 95% of games I've played this generation, I've gotten for free from the service.
Re: Gothic Action RPG Crimson Moon Announced for PS5
This is the type of AA game I like to see!
Re: Some PS5 Fans Believe a New God of War Game Could Shadow Drop This Week
I'd love for these shadow drops to ACTUALLY shadow drop and people involved to stop teasing things or leaking things.
That being said. It is impressive, that if true, a GOW game has managed to stay relatively firmly in 'rumor' territory.
Re: Morrowind-Inspired Open World RPG Dread Delusion Adventures to PS5 This Spring
This looks neat!
Guess I'm old enough for PS2 era graphics to be 'retro' and cool for a new game release.
Re: Rumour: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 Skips PS5 Exclusivity, Will Be Multi-Platform Straight Away
Watch it sell less due to less PS marketing push.
Honesty I hope Sony stops spending money on FF. I don't see it as a big system sellers as it was in the past. Doesn't really do a great job of bringing in new fans either.
Re: 'These Guys Are Top of the Line': Actor Tony Dalton Talks Up Naughty Dog and Intergalactic
No way it's PS6. Sony needs the massive install base to move units. It'll be the swan song for PS5 like TLOU and TLOU2 was.
It's insane ND spent the entire console life working on this.
Re: Highguard Doesn't Do a Concord, But Reception Is Lukewarm
It is a bit barebones on content. I get leaving things for content drops, but if there are modes with more players on a map.....I think they'd better drop that ASAP
Re: Hands On: Highguard Is Real and Potentially Great on PS5
Played one match so far. It was well made and I enjoyed it.
However its clearly meant for the sweaty crowd, of which I am not. So my time will be limited.
I was disappointed at the lack of AI enemies. I also think being more 3v3v3v3 or more players would have been better.
Not sure why everyone is slamming it tho. Classic internet beating up on the thing popular to beat up on. It's not bad by any means.
Re: Rumour: GTA 6 Might Not Launch Physically at First to Avoid Leaks
Isn't their profit margin larger for Digital?
Doubt they care about spoilers. But with a game selling this many copies at launch, getting a bigger cut going digital makes a lot of sense, even if it's only a month delay to physical.
Re: GreedFall 2 Adds to Busy March 2026 Schedule with Final PS5 Release Date
Absolutely loved the first game, and was super excited for this, but the EA really quashed my hopes.
It's a shame they didn't refine the gameplay of the original.
Re: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 Now Has the Most Game of the Year Awards Ever
It's impressive seeing older games on the list, as 10+ years ago a lot less places awarded GOTY anyways.
So in some sense it's a silly list as the quantity of available awards goes up each year. Maybe we can adjust awards for inflation lol.
Re: The End of an Era: Sony Spins Off Iconic Television Business
Sounds like a watering down of the Sony brand, as it'll get slapped onto $100 TVs at Walmart.
