This is how I feel about Dark Alliance and I love it

It mainly stinks for Joirnalists and people that frequent this site alone for news like me. On one hand it’s exciting opening up PushSquare to find some awesome announcement! But on the other hand, when it’s always random, I find myself going here less and less versus when I know it’ll be a big blowout weeek of news.

@mrtennis1990 I agree it can’t be sustainable for the platform holders or the developers (since many move on from games so quickly and never go back).

However, from a consumer standpoint with limited budget, I gotta see where the best value for my money is and currently there’s a CLEAR winner. I don’t regret my PS5 purchase but once Xcloud is running on mobile or PC, that’s gonna be a go to for me if a game is launched there

It’ll be interesting as the generation goes along, if Sony can command a huge lead like they did with PS4 they can probably get away without a Gamepass alternative. However, I think more and more people are seeing huge value in the subscription.

I’m the target audience for DA, had the original on GameCube and so this was a day 1 buy for me. But if I had both and Xbox and PS, I’d have just used a Gamepass subscription for 1 month because I doubt I’ll play this game longer then a month.

Guerrilla makes one Horizon game and that’s all they get noted for haha. RIP Killzone, still loved 2 and 3’s multiplayer.

@theMEGAniggle my third run I made it all the way to the second boss and had such confidence. Now I can barely get anywhere in biome 2. I suck at this game lol.

I just started playing this a few days ago!! Totally hooked and love it! It’s a shame it had technical issues that gave casual onlookers like myself skepticism about it!

The original Dark Alliance was my favorite game for a long time. This was a day 1 buy for me, but I’m waiting for my buddy to get his copy so we can play together!

Yes!!! I love this game! One of my favorites in recent years, super pumped for this! I was waiting to get the platinum (hard mode play through) until the upgrade

@Snake_V5 Im not sure if you played each of them on release or in the collection pack, but for me, I played each at release and Uncharted 2 was such a step up over U1 and blew so many other games of that era out of the water, especially for action/adventure and storytelling. (Even during the era of tacked on multiplayer, U2’s was fantastic!)

U3 had better set pieces and graphics and multiplayer. But I felt like the story was a lot more muddy and all over the place. I was overhyped at the time and was really disappointed by it. It wasn’t as big of a jump like U1 to U2 was and the series was coming off of this stellar reputation from U2. For me U2 was the pinnacle of the series. (U4 just seemed to drag a bit once you get to the island)

@get2sammyb I’m shocked Ubisoft didn’t give up on Rocksmith. But this model and targeting all those app based guiar learning tools seems perfect.

It really is an amazing learning tool. It’s taught me so much, and got me playing guitar. I’ve since started real lessons as well, but as a song learning tool it’s unmatched. I was fully playing stuff like Cheap Trick’s Surrender at 100% before ever having a teacher.

Rocksmith+ that was the biggest for me by a mile.

Was Demons Souls open like that? I thought you could pick the world you wanted to go to in the hub area? But it’s been 10 years since I played it haha. And never got very far.

Glad to see how well received this RE has been. Hopefully they keep pushing for this type of quality in their RE games.

@ElMarko Depends what your definition of complete is. I’ve beaten it 3 times and still don’t feel anywhere close to ‘completion’ These games are built for repetition and NG+ imo.

Give me a PlayStation hero collector game like SWGOH, DSA or MSF.

It would do so well. They could easily charge 25% or more on top of the base cost and it would sell like hotcakes.

Like many others, I want a classic themed controller with the classic color face buttons.

I loved it. It might be my favorite, except for the nostalgia that 5 has for me because it got me into the series (besides failing miserably as a kid at 3)

Perfect length, never stayed in one place too long. Nice side stuff and backtracking. Perfect imo. Also nailed the story and I loved all the villains

NO WAY!!!! I just bought this on PS2 on ebay to help introduce my wife to easy RPG’s. If it’s co-op I’m picking it up even tho 30$ is dumb

@Turismo4GT I just got my PS5 and it was really nice to have a few games waiting for me to play. (Especially after I dropped 150$ on Returnal and RE8)

The combat was some of the best of 3rd person games I’ve played, weird complaint. Leagues ahead of TLOU 1.

How scary is this game? I love VR games and loved RE7....but generally I’m a scary cat. Quit doom VR instantly due to pinky charging at me (and the awful controls) lol.

This is bonkers. What was once a console selling franchise for Sony will now sell consoles for Xbox if it stays on Gamepass.

Sony needs to renegotiate or get out of this deal and use the team to make system sellers for itself.

Please Capcom. More ports/remakes. I want to experience all the old titles on a PS5 with non tank controls.

I’ve bought a PS1/2 and BC PS3 as a spare for my ancient PS3 just to keep my library alive. I’d gladly pay for an emulator. If it carries over to PS6 etc I’d happily pay 100$

@J2theEzzo There’s a polygon article that says they may look into adding Split Screen down the road. Could just be PR mumbo jumbo but at least they’re aware people want it.

Dark Alliance 1 was my favorite GameCube game. I still remember the convoluted cheat code to skip to any level and max your stats hahaha.

You made a really good point. I thought I was just getting older and that’s why the news seemed less interesting, but i honestly question why I log into PS 4 times a day anymore. Sony just isn’t doing anything exciting and when there is news it’s a quick burst that lasts for a day or two.

Pretty pumped for this. And glad they showed off gameplay! It looks solid and fun!

I love Gravity Rush but their content over the past few years has been kinda bad. Hopefully a restructure and investment will help them grow back up to making great games!

This would be a day one purchase from me if I had a PS5. Price point is whatever, lack of people owning consoles for people to buy the game is what really sucks.

But I’m glad they’re giving it to the mainline studio. Their track record has been really good! So I’m sure whatever direction they take will be well received!
