Re: PS Plus Value Called into Question as Xbox Slashes Game Pass Price

ShadowRJ

It doesn’t matter what the price is, I just don’t believe that the future of gaming is streaming, regardless of the amount of analysts trying to convince me otherwise.

Console gaming is something you have to focus on, to put your whole attention in. All the big streaming services like Netflix and Spotify provide very passive entertainment that you’re expected to flick through then dismiss.

@LogicStrikesAgain nobody should ever use Metacritic scores alone to decide how good a game may be. By all means, it’s a valuable resource, but it’s important to digest where those scores have come from.

As for the game itself? Excellent. Glad to know it’s good. I am looking forward to playing it in June when physical version comes out.

Re: Phil Spencer Stepping Down, Sarah Bond Leaving Microsoft in Huge Xbox Shake-Up

ShadowRJ

To play devil’s advocate, I do think a lot of Xbox’s recent closures and layoff have been down to Microsoft more than Phil. There’s only so much power you have in that situation, when you have to report to Microsoft.

What I do blame him for is not being able to get key first party software out the door in both a timely and high quality fashion. Redfall should never have seen the light of day, and the fact that it did, I put firmly on him.

Re: Mega State of Play Confirmed for Thursday, Over 60 Mins of PS5 Announcements and Updates

ShadowRJ

My (pessimistic prediction)

1. A bunch of PS4 games getting PS4 upgrades
2. Jak and Daxter returns in a battle royale game
3. Dino Crisis 3 is given a port
4. The price of PS+ increases, with the only new addition being Fortnite bucks.
5. Media Molecule announce a Horizon spinoff
6. Sony start teasing the PS6
7. The "one more thing" of the event is Todd Howard revealing the PS5 version of Starfield.

Either I'm right or I'm happy to be wrong.

Re: PS3 Game Streaming Still Broken and Sony Draws Criticism

ShadowRJ

@BamBamBaklava89 It's because the PS3 infastructure was a nightmare to work with. Sony did this by design with the idea that developers would focus all their energy on the PS3, and it would be too much of a pain to port those games ocer to Xbox 360. In reality, the exact opposite happened, and even Sony is having trouble in getting PS3 games to run on more powerful hardware.
