Dead Island 3 Officially Confirmed in the Least Interesting Way Possible 1

Developer Dambuster Studios, the team behind the surprisingly solid Dead Island 2, has now confirmed Dead Island 3 is in development.

Having already teased a new instalment in the series earlier this year, the developer has now made it official, albeit with the least fanfare one could imagine.

The news comes via a financial report, summing up the company's year ending March 2025.

It states Dead Island 3 is now the "primary focus" of the 194-strong studio. "Parts of the game are now in early production with feature, character, world and story design moving at pace," the report reads.

It also says the predicted release window for the game is "Q1/2 2028", so it's a couple of years away at the very least.

Still, it's quite exciting to see how the team builds upon what it made with the last game.

Dead Island 2 was in development hell for a long time, originally announced in 2014 and passed between different studios until it finally emerged in 2023.

Fortunately, it seems the third game won't take quite as long to make. Are you excited about a Dead Island 3? Tell us in the comments section below.
