PS5 Sony Games Bag 19 Nominations at The Game Awards 2025

I dont know how many, but certainly they got Best Action/Adventure in the bag with Ghost of Yotei. Probably also Best Adaptation with Last of Us S2.

And i think GTA6 doesnt deserve to win Most Anticipated every year, so i give that to Wolverine this year hehe

I still can't believe they snubbed Austin Wintory. No justice I tell ya.

It was kind of shocking that Ghost of Yotei didn’t get a GOTY. As shown here it got seven nominations. By comparison, the only category DK Bananza was nominated for was best family game.

I’m not saying DK Bananza isn’t worthy, it most definitely is, but it was shocking to see a game get seven nominations, yet none of which are for GOTY

There are multiple current GotY nominees that Ghost of Yotei easily outshines. This is a very odd, slightly random list of inclusions.

I'm ok with GoY not being up for GOTY as it was a 9/10 game while everything in the Category is 9.5-10, still best action/adventure game though.

There are multiple games this year (E33, GoY, KCD2, DS2 more?) that could win and I’d be totally fine. It was a great year for me.

The only thing I look forward to at TGA is new reveals and anouncements. I got really happy though when Astrobot won last year's best game. The deserved the extra attention.

@ShadowRJ Pretty sure the logic is: "GoY didn't get the big nom, so we have to compensate by putting it in a bunch of other categories. While Bananza got the big nom, so we don't have to worry about putting it anywhere else" (you're telling me Bananza doesn't even deserve a nom for art direction, game direction, action/adventure, audio design, or best score?).

Also, Bananza is their obligatory Nintendo big that gives them the right to ignore Nintendo everywhere else (Mario Kart World certainly deserves a best score nom). And since Death Stranding 2 is repping Kojima and PlayStation, GoY doesn't to fill that obligatory PlayStation role.

The funny thing is 33 is such a darling, they gave zero s***s and just nominated it for half the categories, most of which it'll probably win (three of 33's performances nominated, and not a single from Death Stranding 2. Funny).

Kinda weird to see Yotei didn't get GotY nomination. But eh at least it sold well and with 19 nominations Sony probably satisfied how their games, tv show, and movies got free marketing in a big stage before this year end.

I expect expedition 33 to win but for me it’s donkey kong bananza. Such a great year for gaming!

GoY not being included for game of the year is all I need to not bother tuning in.
To be fair though, these awards have been completely overshadowed by their own 'choices' for a few years now, and this isn't the first time I have not bothered with them.

Ha! The Game Awards- where only 10% of the public vote is considered, and Media outlets tell you what you should like. What a joke! When gamers ourselves decide the awards ( and not 90% media/ paid influencers), I might pay attention. Until then yeah this sorry poop show is no better than Hollywood awards. Lol can’t believe people take these seriously.

Helldivers 2 not GOTY is a travesty.

It is odd Ghost of Yotei isn't nominated for goty but let's be honest it wasn't going to win anyway 🤷 E33 is this year's Baldur's Gate 3 so I expect it to win everything it's nominated for!

Daaaang. I have been playing Helldivers 2 longer than I thought. I thought it came out February of this year. (I'm American, so 2025 has felt like two years.)

@AdamNovice @get2sammyb With GTA 6 delayed and possibly missed out TGA next year, i think Wolverine, Marvel Tokon, and Saros would grab a lot of nominations.

Death Stranding 2 is not a Sony 1st party, the IP is fully owned by Kojima production, game developed by Kojima production.
publishing a game does not make you the owner lol dude...
