Does it? I don't think so. I was looking forward to a really good horde mode building hybrid that I paid good money for, and all I got was a poorly made base game that was pushed aside to make room for a BR game they decided to make when PUBG took off using their assets.
@JoeBlogs Honestly it depends on who did the article at games radar. There are a few people there that literally write articles that go against popular opinion just to get clicks.
I think this is a blessing in disguise for the devs to be honest. The game is barely played, and even after several patches and "content packs", the game is still chock full of terrible animations, bugs, and glitches. They might be saying "oh darn" to the media, but I can guarantee they're high-fiving each other at the office, as they're now free to make their next Kickstarter without much of an obligation to this game or it's community.
None of my friends or myself participate in cross play because game systems and games are cheap. Gaming is a hobby and a privilege, not something you're entitled to. Companies are in it to make money, and can do whatever they please with their products. If Sony wants to deal with some negative publicity from a game not being playable by the entire planet on 17 different devices, that's their call, and I'm sure they're well equipped for the 6 people on the internet crying out "I'm boycotting Sony products forever" that will most likely buy a PS4, if they don't already own one.
If you're dead set on playing a game with friends that's on a non cross play system, either buy the system, have your friends buy the system, or play a different game. There are dozens, if not hundreds of great games on each platform. You will not die if you can't play fortnite on your switch with your PS4 buddies. Your friendship will endure.
@get2sammyb I have two rules in gaming nowadays; everything is a rumor until officially announced on social media, and a release date is never true until a game goes gold
@Rudy_Manchego Yeah that seems to be a theme with all the valkyries, get them down to a sliver of health and they're suddenly invincible. I got the queen to that point once, and yeah I was pretty much using the same load out as you suggested. It is luck for sure. She has two attacks that I absolutely suck at dodging, i just need to buckle down and learn the attacks.
I'm actually looking forward to the PS5, since the PS4 is their first console since PS1 to not use a proprietary (non-BC) chip. I already have PS2-4 hooked up, i'd like to clear some room next gen
@oatmealwarrior92 The Queen? I've been stuck on her for a week now, it is a very tough fight. Thinking of skipping her and finishing to prep for new game plus, but then again, what if it makes that fight harder?!
Probably going to try God of War again (sigh) and play some South Park Fractured, state of decay 2, bloodstained as well.
@dark_knightmare2 I can see a lot of people seem to have that opinion, but i still stand by mine. If they show some gameplay that changes my mind, then great, I'll be the first to claim so. Again, I'm not dissing the game at all, this was more a self realization that I'm burnt out on souls-style games. Maybe I'm looking through a souls-tinged scope given my recent playthroughs, but that's just me calling it like I see it.
@LieutenantFatman Nah, I mentioned that game in my first comment, forgot the name, although yes, that game is definitely much more souls related than ghosts of tsushima.
@NoxAeturnus Honestly, it was the swordplay mainly. I could see what others were referring to in terms of comparing it to say, an arkham game with the stealth, or horizon with the open world, or even Assassin's creed. It's not the difficulty of the souls games that burns me out, it's the "parry this, dodge, take some swipes, back out or roll in, repeat" formula, which i could see in the trailer. It's early, and i'm definitely not dissing the game, it looks beautiful for sure. Just need to see more in depth gameplay before I'm on board day one.
@playstation1995 My eyes are fine, I've played plenty of Onimusha, and this doesn't look like that style of gameplay to me. Like I said above, i'll need to see more, because what I've seen resembles souls style gameplay, which I'm personally burnt out on. Less word up, more reading comprehension, son.
I thought it looked great graphics-wise, but it looks like it's set to be yet another souls-type game set in a different era, which really doesn't interest me all that much. Souls fatigue is set in for me after Nioh, and now we have this, the other samurai souls game, code vein, and Nioh 2 in the works? A bit too much for me, time to take a break.
Sounds like a case of sour grapes because the current console leader doesn't feel the need to share with consoles that don't even come close to the sales of the PS4, combined. I'm sure they've prepared for all of the sales they're going to lose because of this decision too
Oh no, I sure hope those people who absolutely must play fornite on the go aren't depraved of carrying over their progress. We're about to see riots and mass teen suicide rates go through the roof!
I already scheduled time off for work thanks to this and KH3 launching within 4 days of each other. Definitely my two most anticipated games right now! I was expecting a REmake style RE2, not rebuilt from the ground up using the RE7 engine. I'm pumped!
I like how they made fun of themselves, knowing their games are buggy, but let's be real here; no amount of beta testing will make this game NOT busted from launch until it shuts down a year from it's release date.
Wouldn't be that hard to release an "early access" game based on the already very dated Fallout 4 engine and turn a decent profit, if they are indeed joining the online survival genre.
If Activision/Bungie hasn't been able to steer the course back on track in 5+ years with Destiny, I have very little hope for EA/Bioware coming up with something better.
Give me all the TLOU2 info please. Not really interested in Death Stranding, a little curious as to what Tsushima is all about though.
@Homo-Ludens "If MGSV had done something fully right... it was the gameplay and no one can deny it" Going to have to massively disagree there, as the gameplay became pretty boring after awhile. There was almost no reason to modify/upgrade anything, as basic tactics of fooling the AI would get the job done 99% of the time. I will agree that the actual "mechanics" of the game made for some fun times, but they were thrown into an empty, instanced, albeit pretty sandbox for the most part.
Why have an E3 when major things are snooped/leaked/announced weeks before the event, like what is happening now? Just have a worldwide "release week" and show some gameplay videos and trailers. No, we don't need an event for people to give "hands-on" impressions, because every one of them that I've seen is usually bring played by someone who is terrible at gaming in general, and it does the games a disservice, really. Here's a thought: release an actual Demo to the public!
Starting to miss the mystery of not knowing a game's details until it's officially announced, kind of my own fault for being on the internet though. Really wish people would keep their mouths shut/noses out of things every once in awhile and let things unravel naturally
When your company name is often referred to as Busgthesda, you would think it'd be wise to create a single player game without problems before even thinking about attempting something online.
Please don't. If anything, release one last revision of the vita without a proprietary memory slot and make it backwards compatible with psp disc things.
I'd probably pass on this personally. Most of the really good PS1 games have been on PSN, and can be played on PS3 or vita. Plus, PS1 games can still be purchased on eBay or Amazon used in decent condition at reasonable prices.
Well, after my sub is up in August I'll be done buying new games. Amazon prime dropped the ball way too many times to be reliable. Guess I'll just stick to my backlog!
@get2sammyb I guess I'm a little worried about what kojima's definition of an open world third person action game is. As with most, i'll be waiting for some solid gameplay footage to see what exactly we're in for.

@rjejr I should add that to my rules, a game is in beta until it received a remaster
