@MonkeyDLuffy19 Graphics aren't everything, and normally I wouldn't think twice about how XC2 looks, it was just a bit jarring coming from DQ11. The blade system is definitely in depth, and combat looks simplistic but has some nuance with timed hits, hitting on the last part of a combo, attacking from front, side, back, etc. I'm sure it'll keep me busy for awhile!
@wiiware For Spiderman, if you want all the suits without having to get top rank in the taskmaster challenges, don't spend ANY of your challenge tokens until you get all of the suits. I spent some on gadget upgrades, and had to get top rank in a few of the challenges to have enough to buy all of the suits.
@KingdomHeartsFan I'm only about 6 hours in, and I've never played any previous Xenoblade entries, so I don't think I would be able to give you a good answer to that. I received it as a Christmas present, and it's a good time killer during downtime at work for me. I will say IMO the music is fantastic, one of the best scores I've heard in awhile.
Also, once you get multiple people in your party, there is a lot, and I mean a LOT of banter before/during/after battles, to the point that you can't make sense of it all. And each character only has a few lines so they repeat constantly. You can turn it down or off, but it would be nice to have a "talk less" option.
I recently started up Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and have found it to be pretty decent (albeit very ugly after having just spent 80+ hours with DQ11 in 4K). Might jump in to some AC Odyssey as well.
They haven't done much to get my attention for Days Gone, as I completely forgot about it. I'm sure it'll be something to look at after KH3, RE2, and maybe the new Souls-with-samurai-reskin.
There are a couple of workarounds on PC to infinitely reset the timer, though they seem like a lot of work for it to "maybe" reset the timer. Two weeks is nothing, I'll enjoy the demo for what it is.
Enjoy that champagne now, ladies and gents. You'll need those memories to get you through unemployment, or 80 hour work weeks trying to stay on budget while finishing your next game in order to stay employed!
Have they addressed why FighterZ was blocked from EVO Japan 2019? That signaled to a lot of people, myself included, that they were possibly dropping support for the game altogether.
@Turismo4GT They'd be losing out on Xbox and PC sales if they did that, so it would have to be a very, very large chunk of change from Sony to make that happen. Possibly a steak dinner as well.
@jdv95 Bungie has been an independent company since their split with MS in 2007, they only had a publishing deal with Activision for Destiny. So for them to move forward with Destiny 3, they most likely will need assistance from another larger company. Whether that means they will be "bought" is another subject entirely, although it's certainly not off the table.
So who is Bungie going to partner with now? Something tells me they don't have the ability to create a proper "Destiny 3" without some serious backing and assistance from a larger company.
While I loved co op in DS3, there were fewer things more annoying than an A**hat invading and trying to halt your progress for 5 minutes. If the bosses are designed without co op help in mind, it makes you wonder how many DS bosses were buffed to compensate for possible co op help.
While I wouldn't call it the greatest comeback of all time, (that goes to Capcom/RE7/RE2 Remake) this game was a true evolution of a one trick pony into a multi-tasking bada**. They don't even need to change up the formula for the sequel, just bring on more of what they have created. WORD. UP. SON.
@OmegaYato I'm not offended, and you're speaking your opinion, which is not fact, except in your head.
@JJ2 He made a snide comment, so I returned with one. I never called him out on anything he said. He's clearly very full of himself if you look at what he is saying.
@ShogunRok Fair enough, I just didn't see it in your top 5 of the year either, so I was curious. I'm the same way with RDR2, got through it, but it really didn't click with me as it appears to with others, and I'm ok with all the praise it receives.
@ShogunRok Curious, did you even play God of War? I know you're primarily an RPG guy, just wanted to know if you tried it, and what your thoughts were if you have?
Loved Dead Cells and Hollow Knight for sure. Celeste definitely feels overrated, felt like an average game at best to me. The Messenger is a fantastic indie game as well, hopefully it comes to PS4 sooner rather than later.
This game on PC with the orchestral mod installed has easily sucked me in at 60+ hours, and I'm just now reaching the post endgame content. Yes, it is repetitive, but it is touted as an old school JRPG, so it's not like you don't know what you're getting yourself into. Easily the best JRPG I've played in years, definitely up there with DQ8.
DQ is definitely in my top 3 for the year as well. One day I'll try to figure out what people find so special about RDR2, but everything I've seen so far just doesn't interest me. I don't want realism in my games, I want to toss an axe and recall it, and perform flashy DBZ finishers disguised as DQ spells
Merry Christmas, and thank you for not going the route of NL (having a dedicated clickbait writer for day and night.) You have my thanks and my clicks with your higher quality content.
@Ps4_all_the_way It's all good, I'm a big fan of GT myself, and I'm sure the current game is good, I've just found alternatives in the lapses between them that are just as good if not better IMO. Just really not a fan of "games as a service" and it looks like they're adding in SP content as well, I just prefer to slap a disc in and do an update or two and be able to play if I'm not online.
I'll stick to Driveclub/Project Cars and Forza Horizon for my racing fix. They're all great games out of the gate, giving us SP content out of the box instead of this "service" garbage.
Brought to you by a group of people who clearly played way too much Mega Man Legends, Earthbound, Parappa the Rapper, and lost their minds on an acid trip along the way.
Might as well get started on RE3 remake, RE2 has already knocked it out of the park from what's been seen. Wouldn't mind a Dino Crisis remake in the same style......
God of war for sure. Spiderman was fun but still the end of the day it felt like just another open world Arkham game. RDR2 is....ok, just not digging the "immersion" factor that they bank so heavily on in every aspect of the game.
@Danloaded They can outsource the bags though. The game is their baby, and only they have the power to fix it (or hire modders that made the unofficial Fallout 4 patches).

@wiiware Fortunately no, as some of them are pretty difficult. You don't have to upgrade all of the gadgets either.

So it's either a demo that has no playtime limit, but has almost nothing to do with the actual game, (RE7) or this. Baby steps Capcom, baby steps.
