Resident Evil 2 put in a shock appearance at Sony’s E3 2018 press conference – and even better is that it’ll release on 25th January. The game’s been built from the ground up for PlayStation 4, adopting a new camera perspective to offer a unique take on the 1998 classic.
“Both Leon and Claire have their own separate playable campaigns, allowing players to see the story from both characters’ perspectives,” the press release reveals. “The fate of these two fan favorite characters is in players hands as they work together to survive and get to the bottom of what is behind the terrifying attack on the city. Will they make it out alive?”

Leon's got a new chin.

"Will they make it out alive?”
Hmmm, I don't know Capcom. Do they? 🤔

Yayaya i pre-ordered this in PS Store in few minutes ago
Great news. Now excuse me so i may continue with my happy dance.
Looks good
Most exciting game I've seen at E3 so far. Can't wait to see more of it.
Amazon has the pre-orders already. RACC CITY... RACC RACC CITY! (In my tyga voice)

If the visuals and gameplay hold up to the trailer then this could be as good as Resi 4. Awesome.
Best game at E3 so far for me, genuinely excited to play this
Looks amazing.
I was gonna give it a try but alas it comes out to close to KHIII so it's gonna have to wait and I don't have nostalgia for this game the tank controls were horrible for me and worst release date for me
Looks great! I wonder if there's much chance they will add a VR mode.
Oh yes!
I'm sure i saw Nick Valentine at the end.
Well played! At least the almost constant rumours and speculation can stop now!
This is an 60 Euros game?!?
I thought it would be an 20 Euros like the other remakes but I will buy it anyway.
The only thing Im sad about that there is no optional 3 rd person camera... 😢
@Flaming_Kaiser Sure it is 3rd person. Its just over the shoulder, not fixed angle like the original.
@belmont Im stunned people are expecting this for 20 euros. This is not an ordinary remaster like resident evil 1,they made this from the ground up as if its a brand new game. They are even using resident evil 7 engine and graphics,plus they are adding more scenes that were not in previous versions.
@belmont Sorry what? They've remade the entire game, for all intents and purposes this is a brand new game and what other remakes are you referring to? They've only remade the original Resident Evil and that was full price when it launched on Gamecube
I’ve only just played RE2 on the PS1 for the first time the other week. I enjoyed it, but it seemed really short, even compared to RE1. I loved the RE1 remake on Gamecube, which seemed longer and had extra content compared to the original (and RE2), so I hope this follows suit and expands the game. I don’t mind doing a playthrough for each character, as long as there’s enough unique content in each scenario. Looking forward to seeing the new perspective for RE2, we haven’t seen that done before on an RE remake. Would love to see RE1 in a third person perspective too.
@belmont :')
20 euros.
You funny!!!
Looking forward to paying £12.99 for the FF7 remake when that drops, too?
I wouldn't be surprised if they make Resi 3: Nemesis DLC for this game. I loved that game on PS1. It would be great playing through that again with an engine that looks this slick. The game was always criticised for being so much shorter than 2 so would make for an excellent DLC story expansion. Plus they'd be able to sell it as the Raccoon City Edition further down the line in the same vein as their Gold editions.
Not loving the character's looks, but that's my only complaint, a very minor one. Pre-ordered the Deluxe Edition.
i was really surprised by this one
although i'm just glad it's not first person, that was the only thing about RE7 i didn't like (i so wish that game had a 3rd person mode)
@Gamer83 Same Here
@FullbringIchigo Yes, it does over the shoulder in 3rd person from RE 4
@PS4fan yeah i know i was saying i wish RE7 had the over the shoulder view too, sorry i didn't make that clearer
i understand what you mean xD.. i hate first person in RE 7. if this game is first person like RE 7 then i won't buy it lol. if RE 8 is first person again then that stupid lol
I already scheduled time off for work thanks to this and KH3 launching within 4 days of each other. Definitely my two most anticipated games right now! I was expecting a REmake style RE2, not rebuilt from the ground up using the RE7 engine. I'm pumped!
This is the one game I cheered for when it was shown.Oh and I was sat at home,watching the Conference at home on my own.
@FullbringIchigo It's the reason I haven't played 7 as well.
@BearsEatBeets @PS4fan you know it probably would be hard for them to add a third person mode to RE7 but i think that boat has sailed
@kyleforrester87 @carlos82 @hulkie
To be honest I thought that they would just copy the scenario of RE2 in the RE remake engine and that would make more sense in my opinion, so that's why I though it would be cheap. And from a search seems that I was not the only one that thought so.
Anyway still it is not that reasonable to have the same price as RE7. 45-50 euros would make more sense. In the end of the day, even though I enjoyed RE7 a wanted for the remake to stay more true to its roots and be more like RE1 Remake
@belmont Yeah well if they did that then maybe it would be a cheaper game, although remember most of the work was already done on the PS4 release of RE1 since it was copied over from a (full price) Game Cube version.
But just watching this trailer clearly demonstrates why it's a full price game. I mean, look at it.
@SegaBlueSky there's no cgi in re2 remake it's in real time like re 4,5,6 and 7
@Blue_Beetle why would re3 be a dlc?
@Gamer83 you'll get over it
This trailer was one of my faves out of E3 2018, really makes me want to play 0 and 1's remasters now, and also 4 and Revelations 1-2.
Kudos to them for the slow reveal, thought it was sumthin else at first.
