Re: Rockstar Employees Rally Around Company After Crunch Concerns

RedMageLanakyn

@Porco People just shouldn't be answering questions or doing interviews without guidance/approval, they say things that get misconstrued for the sake of drama. I said nothing about rockstar specifically or keeping things secret, please stop jumping to conclusions like the people on the internet that caused this issue did in the first place.

Re: Rockstar Worked 100 Hour Weeks to Get Red Dead Redemption 2 Done

RedMageLanakyn

@BAMozzy Yeah I'm with you on this one. Having a full team work 14 hours a day 7 days a week is counter-productive, and most likely not the case.

I get the feeling the spouse letter won't be a thing this time around, as I'm sure anyone attached to this project is willing to sacrifice their time and personal life to have RDR2 work on their resume.

Re: Feature: Celebrating PlayStation VR's Second Anniversary

@hotukdeals I was looking into that, but it looks like the hardware is still relatively weak to run games. I guess I'm waiting for technology to allow for a lag-free wireless transfer of data from either a console or computer, so you can have the horsepower without the wires. I'm thinking it will become a reality in the next VR hardware gen.

Most likely going to go for the platinum in Spiderman, only 3 trophies left. I'm not very good at the challenge missions though, I seem to have trouble with getting the swinging to cooperate in the drone missions. After that probably shadow of the tomb raider and dragon quest 11, might boot up the PS3 and do another runthrough of the parasite eve games for Halloween.

Re: Patent Prompts PS5 Backwards Compatibility Rumours

RedMageLanakyn

@Turniplord You seem to be under the impression that it would take a large amount of resources to provide emulation, when in reality it would take very little with their current architecture. The reason Xbox is doing poorly is because of a lack of decent developers, which Sony is currently not lacking at all.

As far as Nintendo goes, that's a non issue here because they made a huge technological jump from the Wii u to the Switch, but I'll humor you, since the Wii u did support their two past consoles, that yes, I would have to buy a new 3DS or Wii u if mine stopped working, but again, its not Nintendo we're talking about here.

You can call those of us "entitled" if you so choose by asking Sony to allow our games we bought with our hard earned money to be used on their next platform, but it's certainly not the resource diverting mountain you're making it out to be. Sorry I'd rather not have 4 systems hooked up to play all of MY games that are on a single account.

Re: Patent Prompts PS5 Backwards Compatibility Rumours

RedMageLanakyn

@Turniplord Not all of us have the room to house a lot of consoles in our entertainment setup. What happens if my PS4 stops working at some point? You think I should just be ok with paying for the privilege to play those games on a spotty streaming app in stead of popping a disc into my new system, or downloading one from my PS account? That's awfully selfish thinking to be honest.

@Porco I wouldn't count on PS3 emulation on PS5, it requires a lot of hardware horsepower for stable framerates, not to mention the fact that they already have a large portion of the PS3 library on PSNow.

Re: Patent Prompts PS5 Backwards Compatibility Rumours

There is absolutely no reason the PS5 shouldn't have BC at this point. They have a good architecture (though the CPU is a bit weak) that they can carry over to their next system with no problems at all. BC is the main reason I dropped on an Xbox, and if PS5 doesn't have it, it's going to be hard to justify an immediate purchase.

Re: Dragon Quest XI Must Sell Well in the West if Future Games Are to Make it Overseas, Says Square

RedMageLanakyn

@ShogunRok I seem to remember one of your complaints from the review was the music. On PC, modders created a package that replaces all of the music in game with actual orchestrated versions, it makes a remendous difference. Definitely makes the game better! Worth taking a look/listen.....I just wonder why a team of 4 was able to do this but Square Enix couldn't....

Re: Devil May Cry 5 Has Microtransactions for Some Stupid Reason

RedMageLanakyn

Why is this an uproar or a surprise? They did this with DMC4 Special Edition and no one said anything about it, of course they put it in their latest DMC game.

My friends and I certainly didn't have any issues playing DMC4 or Shadow of War without them, boycott if you want, I'll be enjoying the game and not giving them any extra money.

@wiiware They sold costumes and skins in DMC4SE, I'm sure we'll get the same in DMC5.

I see some of the NL articles from last week are rubbing off here since we have staff members making false statements and then provoking the commentors to argue with them

I'll be playing some DQ11 and Spiderman, and begrudgingly going through the forsaken DLC on my other two guradians so my friends will shut the hell up!
