Here we are again with another community-voted top 10, only this time, we're not looking back on the year that was, as we did with our readers' Game of the Year vote. Instead, we're looking ahead to the next 12 months, and so earlier this week, we asked you lot to vote for your most anticipated games of 2019.
Below, you'll find the Push Square community's top 10 most anticipated PlayStation 4 titles. Again, it's worth noting that games like The Last of Us: Part II and Ghost of Tsushima were not included in the poll, as they don't have an officially confirmed 2019 release window.
So, what games are you lot most looking forward to in 2019? Let's find out.
10. The Division 2 - 78 votes (4% of total vote)
9. Devil May Cry V - 87 votes (4%)
8. Metro: Exodus - 94 votes (4%)
7. ANTHEM - 98 votes (5%)
6. Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled - 104 votes (5%)
5. The Outer Worlds - 105 votes (5%)
A shock announcement at The Game Awards 2018, The Outer Worlds looks to be a proper sci-fi role-playing title from the genre masters over at Obsidian. The developer's final project before being snapped up by Microsoft, this could well be the last time we see the studio put in an appearance on PlayStation, so we're hoping that it goes out with a bang. The bottom line right now is that The Outer Worlds looks like Mass Effect and Fallout had a weird baby, so it's no surprise to see it so high on your list.
4. Kingdom Hearts III - 157 votes (7%)
We would love to write a joke about Kingdom Hearts III making it onto every most anticipated list for the last five years, but hey, it's finally, finally coming out in 2019. The supposed finale to Square Enix's beloved action RPG series, it's set to wrap up years of emotional storytelling. Fans obviously won't need to think twice about getting hyped for this one, and so it settles as your fourth most anticipated game of 2019.
3. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 166 votes (8%)
From Software is one of the most trusted developers in the industry right now. The Japanese studio could sell sh*t in a bag and people would go barmy over it, poking and prodding to learn its secrets. As such, despite being something of a departure from the RPG-focused elements of Dark Souls and Bloodborne, Sekiro has commanded our attention since the second it was teased. Its grisly action looks predictably phenomenal, and the fantasy-infused Japanese setting seems spellbinding. A well earned third place on your list.
2. Resident Evil 2 - 216 votes (10%)
It looks damn good, doesn't it? Capcom's pushing to be a major player in 2019, and it all starts with Resident Evil 2's long awaited remake. An inexperienced Leon S. Kennedy slogging his way through countless skirmishes with shufflers sets the tone for what should be a refreshingly straightforward reminder of how good Capcom's survival horror series can be, and coming off the back of the very well received Resident Evil 7, it's hard not to have high hopes. Second most anticipated game of 2019? You better believe it.
1. Days Gone - 284 votes (13%)
Pulling ahead by some distance, Days Gone is your most anticipated title of 2019. The PS4 exclusive has been a known quantity for quite some time, but that certainly didn't stop you lot from voting for it. And for the record, we agree -- at this point we just want to play the damn thing. Fortunately, that seems to be on the cards seeing as Days Gone has a set April release date.
A gritty post-apocalyptic open world adventure starring ridiculously named biker Deacon St. John, you're going to be fighting for your life against undead hordes, murderous survivors, and everything in between, including zombie animals, obviously.
Hopefully, Days Gone is going to end up referring to the number of hours that you sink into our readers' most anticipated title of 2019.
And there you have it, Days Gone is your most anticipated PS4 game of 2019. Happy with the results? Let your voice be heard in the comments section below.

My most anticipated release is always gunna be the closest one!
Edit: okay, nearly always.
Double edit: really, Days Gone over Resi 2? Days Gone looks okay but Resi 2 is surely going to be the better zombie game!
@kyleforrester87 Resident Evil 2 might well be fantastic, but it's still just a remake. I won't be playing either, but I can see how Days Gone would be more interesting to people as a new experience, and how Resi 2 would be more of a "wait for the sales" kinda thing for many.
Only here would Days Gone beat out games like Devil May Cry, Kingdom Hearts, and Resident Evil.
Ehh, no big deal. I may not care much for it, but I still hope it's a game people enjoy.
Blame the readers!
I'm looking forward to Days Gone, but I have a lot of skepticism regarding it. Something about it feels...off.
RE2 is something I'm absolutely more interested in from the survival horror/action genre.
1)KH3- if you couldn’t tell.
2)Days Gone
3)Bio Mutant (Didn’t make the list)
As a fan of Souls-like games I really don’t care for Sekiro.
The more I learn about it, the more I’m turned off by it.
Bring on Nioh 2!!
the main reason people are so exited for days gone is because it's a PS exclusive and our exclusives just have a track record of being great.
does that warrant it being first place? that's entirely opinion based so can't say,but i do think that we should this as a compliment to our exclusives being so great.
I'm excited for stuff like Resi 2, Kingdom Hearts 3 and whatnot, but I'm super excited for Crash Team Racing.
Personally I like Days Gone over RE 2 since I’ve played RE 2 before, that said RE 2 does look like a nice remastering so I’ll likely pick it up at a later date. My most interested in title is Concrete Genie. Seems to be flying under the radar but thus far that art that I’ve seen is impressive.
Not that I'm having a dig but could be down to picking 3 games, maybe Days Gone was a lot of peoples 3rd choice but there were many different 1st and 2nds.
Maybe if done like the forum game of year with ranking points it would be different.
days gone for the win.word up son
Gotta be Kingdom Hearts for me, followed by Crash Team Racing and Devil May Cry 5
Nice!
For some reason there's been a bias around the internet assuming gamer s arent interested in Days Gone ...
sekeiro shadows die twice is my second most anticipated games.word up son
Yay! Days Gone at the top. It's the one AAA game I will buy and play for sure this year. I'm far from tired of the zombie theme, especially if it has a cool story-setting-characters to back it up. I don't need/want a profound literary work for this to be great.
I have never been able to get into Resident Evil, not even the old ones or the new ones. It just doesn't do anything for me. The remake does look very impressive though.
Strange. I got the impression that most of the community weren't really interested in Days Gone or Anthem?
If there's Day Gone DLC where you replace the motorcycle with the last of his kind flying fire breathing dragon I'm there.

@JoeBlogs My big concerns are how similar it will feel to other open-world games (which I'm getting burned out on tbh), how reliant it is on scavenging for resources and whether that's fun, and how long the novelty of fighting those hordes of zombies will last.
My big three are KH3 (duh), DOOM Eternal, and Star Wars Jedi.
@kyleforrester87 Resident Evil 2 looks a to be a far better game than Days Gone. A stunning looking remake of one of, if not the best survival horror games ever vs yet another open world crafting survival game albeit with an interesting if hugely telegraphed horde mechanic.
No contest for me and that's before I saw the Hunk and Tofu reveal this morning 😁😁😁
@RBMango
I think a lot of the bias comes from people thinking the game is just about shooting 'zombies'.
Days Gone doesn't look like anything special so far. Kingdom Hearts 3 and RE2 for me.
Amazed that Days Gone is so popular, looks completely unremarkable to me!
@waluigifan1 And KH3 and a remake are both special? Lmao
The fact that Days Gone is beating anything is disheartening. It genuinely looks like a massive turd of a game.
@OmegaYato more special than Days Gone that's for sure.
No plans to preorder any of these. A couple are somewhat intriguing, but not enough to make me wild. If Days Gone reviews very well (like 9’s and 10’s), then I’ll adopt it Day 1, but otherwise it’ll be relegated to the “buy if on a good sale” category. Same with most of the other listed games. Sekiro is the one that is most interesting to me of the group though since Code Vein didn’t make the cut.
Probably see what the Destiny expansion is, outer worlds and shenmue 3
Days Gone was the only Exclusive listed that I want and likely to be the only game I buy on PS4 from the options.
I also voted for Metro, one of the most overlooked franchises and really looking forward to it and Anthem, mostly because I have it pre-ordered and partly because I know a lot more about it than the Outer Worlds.
I just cannot get excited by any 'remake or remaster' of games I enjoyed 20yrs ago. I don't care if RE2 has been tweaked as well as given a nice new coat of paint, its still a game I have played a fair few times on different formats over the years and much more excited for the 'Horror Survival' world of Metro and Days Gone...
Unexpected list for sure, it was probably rigged there is no way Shenmue 3 is not number 1
I'm a Days Gone voter AMA
@OmegaYato Yup. Days Gone honestly just looks like another open world Zombie game. Probably will be good enough just not anything special.
@Fight_Teza_Fight Biomutant, sure. I want to play it right now
@waluigifan1
It looks like which open world zombie game?
Genuine question.
@Fight_Teza_Fight i too am looking forward to biomutant.
Not sure what people see in Days Gone, looks generic and boring... looks like a 7/10 at best.
wasn't this poll supposed to be open until 18th january?!?. i'd probably have voted for dreams. there's nothing much else that was listed that really appeals to me. i'm hoping that days gone can pull a surprise like guerrilla did with horizon zero dawn and deliver something better than most expected. the editor of official playstation magazine has a lot of encouraging words for it, but i'll wait and see. i thinkthe bar being raised by horizon, god of war, spiderman, etc on sony's first party titles might cause it to be unfairly overshadowed. rage 2 might be good, but the open world format doesn't convince me at all that it'll be in its best benefits. traipsing about wide open spaces (even if there is 'vehicle combat') just to get to a bit of shotgun-in-the-face visceral carnage seems counterproductive to me. metro exodus looks promising but would need to be a lot better than metro last light which i found incredibly tedious. division 2 looks too much like the first one to me. i wouldn't take money to play anthem.
@JJ2 Kind of like a more polished up State of Decay, except with the really cool Zombie hoard gimmick. Maybe mixed with a bit of Horizon Zero Dawn.
@waluigifan1
I don't see it. I've never been interested in SoDecay but then its not on PlayStation so I didn't do much research. I feel its very different and no idea if there's even a story or what character you play.
HZD no, I really don't see at all
Days Gone has always been one of my most anticipated, ever since it was first shown, everything about it excites me.
Generic or boring? Complete opposite for me, Open world, single player, story driven, zombie hordes, biker apocalypse, sounds absolutely awesome to me.
Whats the saying, the minority are always the loudest, just because you see people bad mouthing a game doesn't mean the majority of people feel that way.
I also voted Tales of Vesperia and Control by the way, its just opinions, I don't see the need to put down another game.
@Kidfried Okay; what's your opinion on the proper way to make a cup of tea? Is it milk first, or water first and then milk? And when do you add sugar, if at all? Before or after?
I'm pumped for Resident Evil 2, RAGE 2, Kingdom Hearts III, Sekiro Shadows Die Twice, Metro Exodus, The Sinking City, Mortal Kombat 11 and more.
Ultimately what will determine on how much interest I have in Days Gone will depend on if it's a survival horror game or if it's just an action game with zombies...
@RogerRoger I can give you the correct way to make a cup of tea: tea bag, water, bag out, small drop of whole milk and a flat single tea spoon of sugar. I have heard of other ways but they are all a load of bo**cks.
I love Sons of anarchy and i love the last of us... hence i Will love days gone
@kyleforrester87 Ah, but I wasn't asking you.
Why would you take the tea bag out before adding milk? If you accidentally put too much milk in, you can squeeze the tea bag on the side of the mug before extraction, ensuring a stronger blend and no need to start over.
And whole milk? Sugar? What are you, eight?!
Anthem and Sekiro are the only two out of the list that I'm planning to buy.
Days Gone just... looks like a lesser TLoU2.
@RogerRoger you dont put too much milk in. If you do, you shouldn't be making tea in the first place.
@ApostateMage That's just the outspoken minority. No idea who down voted you for your comment it's a fair point.
Next year
Ace Combat 7
Streets of Rage 4
Dreams
Metro, REmake 2, and outer worlds are the day 1 buys for me.
@JJ2 The way the camera interacts with the character reminds me of HZD. It's a more cinematic approach. State of decay is ok. It could me a good game if it wasn't so glitchy.
@ellsworth004 @paulo_godoy_BR It looks very promising, doesn’t it?
THQ Nordic seem to have a lot of faith in it, given they delayed it for extra polish.
Darksiders 3 could’ve used that.
Nice pick I am excited about this game too
@kyleforrester87 I was all for re2 until I tried the demo and it made my oled tv look like crap with massively raised black levels.
I then continued passing to find you are bombarded with ammo just running the atmosphere of the game and making it play too much like re5
This article is making success on ResetEra.
Even if I'm not so hyped for Days Gone, it's interesting to see all the hate this game is getting. Really hope the game does well.
@waluigifan1
I see. I do get that some people dont like cinematic approach and prefer more gamey games so too speak. I love it and the way open world games are taking a closer, more immersive approach. I love the focus on telling a good story with character development that keep you engaged and immersed. I like the evolution of the medium and becoming as mature and respected as any other entertainment medium.
Deacon on his bike, surviving as a bounty hunter in a very hostile world vs human factions (some crazy ones too), infected human, animals (infected wolves, bears, ravens, pumas and God knows what else). With a story to tell on a personal level and on a more general level. Oh yes!
@Medic_alert
Dreams is also a ps4 exclusive, going by your logic it should be in the top 10 as well.
The reason it is number 1 is because people actually are looking forward to the game. Like someone said the vocal minority sounds about right, the game looks amazing, can't wait to play it.
@Medic_alert Backtracking now are we?
I have followed the game from day one champ, so don't try to assume what you think I know. Everything about the game interests me, nothing you say will change that.
Oh I see now, looking at your previous comments you are looking like an xbox fanboy, go figure.
Nice to see Sekiro up there!
They haven't done much to get my attention for Days Gone, as I completely forgot about it. I'm sure it'll be something to look at after KH3, RE2, and maybe the new Souls-with-samurai-reskin.
@RogerRoger White tea, no milk, no sugar.
@Medic_alert you talking about those days gone previews from the game informer and e3 early alpha built of the game getting bad coverage. because the previews for the tgs built and so on been getting mostly positive coverage. you seem like a angry Xbox fanboy trying to sh*t on PlayStation on a Playstation central website you Xbots are f*cking pathetic you don’t see us PlayStation guys coming to Windows central sh*tting on the the trash box one.
@Medic_alert yeah that was the e3 build of the game that build of the game looked pretty bad but the tgs build looked way better with improved animations and graphics. so you had outdated information about the game telling people in the comments section they ain’t fellowing the game closely when you yourself haven’t really been fellowing the game closely how embarrassing lol.
@Medic_alert come on the game look really fun and you know it stop hating if it was an Xbox exclusive you be hyping it up ready now lol. I do agree that days gone shouldn’t be number 1 on this list probably more like number 3 because the simple fact its an new ip and people been waiting for games like kh3 and an re2 remake forever.
@Medic_alert eurogamer hate on almost everything and that was a preview from e3. the people at tgs who played the game for themselves said it was great more polish.
@Medic_alert https://waytoomany.games/2018/10/14/bgs-hands-on-days-gone-ps4/
@Medic_alert this is an article from someone who played a recent build of days gone at bgs.
@Medic_alert No need to defend your opinion mate.
I’m personally looking forward to Days Gone & have little interest in Sekiro or Resi 2.
You like what you like.
@Medic_alert Yup. That’s basically what it should be about👍.
@kyleforrester87 That's fairly tea-litest of you.
@Kidfried Ah, the third way! Well-played!
@Fight_Teza_Fight It looks veeeeery promising...
The gameplay, the main character etc. I'm very curious. I hope that this game doesn't let me down
Devil May Cry 5 and Kingdom Hearts 3 other than those not interested in any of the others
@waluigifan1 Good enough and not anything special, you mean like a lot of Sony’s first party games? Understandable.
@Medic_alert You sound really offended by my video because you are a Nintendo fanboy lmao 😂👌
@Medic_alert Get offended by this video as well ahaha! https://youtu.be/tyqOnLZOPtc 😂👌
