I guess I'm in the minority who thinks playing as Faye possibly at the peak of her power is a far more enticing prospect than playing as Freya or Atreus.

@johnedwin I'm sure that's what it will be. Just some hopium on my end that they take this in a far less boring direction than a prequel.

Faye is an intriguing choice as a protagonist. I loved her scenes in Ragnarök and really like Deborah Ann Woll, but I really hope it's not a prequel. My hope is it's set after her death in the Norse realm and she's reincarnated in a separate Egyptian realm. The detail about it having combat way more in line with DMC pleases me.

@somnambulance I think there's so much potential for a really dark and disturbing sci-fi body horror single-player FPS with Marathon, but the tone in the cutscenes and the actual game feels like a mismatch. I'm just not sure what Bungie was going for here.

I'd say thoroughly whelmed is how I feel about Marathon. After spending a few hours yesterday in both solo and squad with friends, there's something lacking about this that I can't quite put my finger on. Even the friends I was playing with seemed pretty indifferent to it, and they're way more into PvP shooters than I am.

Slime Rancher 2 is the big one for me.

Asha Sharma is the WORST person they could have gotten as the next Xbox lead. It's over, Xbox gang. Xbox is truly dead.

I don't need a full-on Bloodborne remake. Just update the damn thing to 60fps and I'll be golden. The lack of that when other PS4 games have gotten this patch is insane to me, especially given how beloved Bloodborne is.

@LogicStrikesAgain Them closing Bluepoint after more than 15 years of successful partnerships, during this gold rush of remakes, and after recently announcing a God of War trilogy remake is absolutely on the level of them closing Naughty Dog to me. Both follow a logic of brain-breaking stupidity and mismanagement.

How they mishandled Bluepoint might be the biggest blunder I have ever seen from PlayStation. This should have been a slam dunk from an OBVIOUSLY successful partnership. But, instead, we get this...... How embarrassing.

Anyone saying nothing of value was lost clearly never gave the first Paranormasight a try. It's one of the decade's most underrated gems, in my opinion, and Square Enix sent that game out to die. It's a damn miracle a sequel exists.

Similar to Firewalk, I have zero empathy for the creative and business decision-makers at Wildlight. Their complete disconnect from reality and staggering hubris needs to be studied. Blaming mean gamers and content creators is a smokescreen trying to cover the real problems with Highguard.

I really hope it isn't God of War. After all this waiting, I'd like to see Barlog and his super talented team flex their creative muscles with something else.

I can't stand people with this mindset. Knowing modern PlayStation's strange aversion to nudity in certain cases, I'm sure the sex scenes and nudity will be removed.

I agree with Jaffe on one thing: the map in Sons of Sparta is very lacking compared to more recent Metroidvanias, especially PoP Lost Crown.

I played the same hour that Jaffe did and I have no idea what he's talking about.

This is the first PlayStation presentation since the PS5 reveal showcase back in 2020 that I felt was worthy of a showcase label. Hell, this reminded me of PlayStation's E3 golden era. I was immensely satisfied and happy with what they pulled off.

I was overwhelmed by how many games I wanted to play that I forgot about Yotei Legends and that chicken man game.

Shadow dropping this was a genius move.

Greatest State of Play of all time. PlayStation knocked this one out of the park.

@StrickenBiged It's so ironic that the mobile game made by NCSoft looks way more in line with what many people (including you and me) envisioned Guerrilla's game would be, and vice versa.

Even divorced from the usual suspects online who label every new live service the next Concord, when your core fanbase is informed that Horizon 3 is still years away because most of the studio is working on a cartoonish live service that tonally looks so off for the series, what the hell did Guerrilla Games expect?

Seeing this pop up as an announcement in my YouTube feed was surreal. Classic Thomas the Tank Engine is very dear to me and I've always wanted a game like this since I was a kid. This could potentially be a dream game of mine.

It's a mixed bag for me. I think the combat looks sick, and I don't mind the general style Guerrilla is going for. However, I'm disappointed it's incorporating roguelike stuff and going for more open zone areas instead of a fully explorable map you can screw around in with your friends. I'm also not a fan of prebuilt heroes being a thing and their designs. They either look super bland or comically out of place for Horizon.

It's way too early to get a read on how this will perform, but I assume it needs to be a big hit to make up for the amount of time and money they've poured into this.

I'm not a fan of the character designs, but I dig the rest of what they're showing. Two of my friends and I have been waiting for this Horizon co-op game for years.

I wonder if they announced this separately from the State of Play because they feared a negative reaction to its inclusion.

The obvious answer for what they should make to find financial success has been staring them in the face for years, but it just hasn't materialized for whatever reason. Maybe these back-to-back financial disappointments will FINALLY make it happen.

Not a fan of either season, so I don't think I'll be bothering with season three. I'm kind of over The Last of Us in general anyway.
