Sony Announces 4Loop, the Next Co-Op Game from the Creator of Left 4 Dead

Honestly, this looks cool just need to see more of it.

That looks awful, i used to say Nintendo was the worse online console brand from games to network. But dang is Sony close. If not for Xbox and Xbox 360 i am not even sure PS would be much ahead of Nintendo in network. Sony as much as i want you to do online games, maybe you should listen to your more hardcore fans and do single player games only. You couldn’t pick a diamond off the pavement of what a good online game looks like.

Has very similar vibes to Helldivers.

Thought the gameplay looked a little stiff but I’m excited regardless.

Arc Raiders and Helldivers are the best multiplayer games I’ve played in a long time and this kinda looks mediocre in comparison.

@Oram77 Sony bought the rights to the IP of a game that did little it’s first go round and Arrow Head got it right the second time around and 70% of it’s sales were on PC. PS5 players dibble dabbled in it. PC carried it. Which is fine, so I’ll be nice and say you got that one, now name 2 more!!! I’ll wait. god i hope it’s good. i’m not expecting a left 4 dead replacement (learned my lesson with back 4 ass - i mean blood) but damn i’m dying for a game to bring me the same amount of enjoyment and playtime that left 4 dead has! left 4 dead is my absolute favorite game series of all time, i’ve played so much of it in the past (about 5000 hours over 6 years) that i’m still burnt out on it years later.

@HonestHick You clearly have no idea what you are talking about. Sony fully funded both Helldivers from their inception. Helldivers 1 started on PS4 and Vita and was later ported to PC.

4Loop’s gameplay looks fun though as a big Helldivers fan I’m not in the market for another online co-op game.

@Oram77 MLB the show, really? You win the biggest Sony fanboy award i ever seen. I mean i like me both those games but those are not online multiplayer games that do anything outside of sell MTX. Most people play GT7 offline. Look i get it, you don’t think MS and PC run the live service game. But Sony needs to make Spiser-man 4-5-6 and not Concord, and this junk. No one wants it. I love all games and consoles. But Sony is junk at doing live service games and picking them out. Foam stars anyone?

Has Helldivers vibe and kinda looks fun although i need to see more.

@HonestHick Tbf, Xbox peaked with the 360 & Playstation peaked with either the PS3 or PS4 (really tough for me to decide).

Nonetheless, both are past their prime and have been fumbling with making their current consoles worth more playtime over PC. I agree with you though, that PS needs to go back to single player, but if they do, they’ll just milk existing franchises instead of new IPs.

I wish it had a harder sci-fi edge to it instead of the quirky stuff they were going for in the trailer, but I'm intrigued.

@nomither6 you ain’t wrong. I ain’t sure Xbox nor PS6 have anything for me to be excited for other than the power. PS is a closed box with online games that are junk, Xbox shoots its toes off at a rate not even a 4 trillion dollar company can replace. I like my Switch 2 for the most part but that’s only for Nintendo only games for me. But i knew when i capped on a Sony online game that the defenders would come out even tho likely they are the ones that hate that Sony isn’t focusing on what they are good at.

If Sony wouldn’t publish this stuff, almost nobody here would care about.

Imagine that people would have a higher interest in a film, just because it were published by Sony and not Paramount or Universal or WB or Disney. Sounds ridiculous? Definition of fanboyism.

This game is not from a Sony Studio by the way, so bringing up Sony making live service games instead of single player games is a moot point.

I'd get if Sony were using up their own studio's for this but they aren't but it now seems Sony aren't allowed to make live service games or even just publish them. They even get hated on for getting third party developers to make mobile games, this is just this the length haters will go to bash on Sony and it's embarrassing.

@LogicStrikesAgain Easy to do do when i own al 3 consoles and spent $4k on a sound system, even more on a couch and a TV in our understairs living room. My money worth i can call out a trash co-op rouge game with poor graphics and gamepaly. Seems fair to me. Likely i even give this one a whirl before you. Funny how many out here sticking up for ass looking games yet always asking for Sony to get back to its single player games. Take me a month of sundays to post all of everyone’s Sony please stop the live service push. But i digress.

@HonestHick Helldivers was always a Playstaton IP. Sony funded and published the first game.

@get2sammyB I’m not sure if the mods can say anything about this, but i just wanna mention that its getting kind of tiring that some comment sections are overrun by negativity and ridicule aimed at the site’s own fan base.

Just to be clear, yes, i’m a fan. Not a “fanboy” that attacks people for their preferences or goes on long tirades to defend a company, or cant have a mature and civil discussion about video games because they take things way too personally. I genuinely enjoy respectful discussion about video games.

Unfortunately, some people that call others “fanboys” are displayjng the same behaviour they claim to dislike and it’s really affecting the quality of the discussion in my opinion.

Maybe like a reminder once in a while from the mod staff reminding that people should be respectful could help . Just my two cent

@LogicStrikesAgain I'm an unapologetic ps5 fanboy..it would be a bit strange to include myself on a PlayStation centric site if I wasn't. Anyhow I think this game looks pretty decent. I loved left 4 dead 1+2 and I still enjoy a spot of back 4 blood as well. I was really enjoying BF6 until I bought arc raiders and that's my go to online game for the foreseeable. I hope this turns out to be great.

@Northern_munkey i get what you’re saying. Just to clarify where i’m coming from, i think that the term fanboy comes across as a negative description. Like a fan, who is overly obsessed and talks negatively about others who dont share their opinion, usually incapable of having civil and nuanced arguments without using ad hominems. I wouldnt describe you as a fanboy. Some on here are genuine fans, just reasonable people, and some definitely cross that territory of toxic fanboy behaviour though.

Its kinda like in the sports world, you have regular fans enjoying supporting a team, and you have “fans” who are starting fights on the parking lot

I wanrt to be cautiously optimistic. I loved Dead 4 Dead but I didnt feel the magic in Back 4 Blood
